The Ancient Genes Chapter 433

Lorenz Mansion, Capital.
"This is worse than I thought…" Max muttered with a frown.
He had returned a while earlier and had immediately entered the spirit world to try transferring his energy to activate the SHOP function…
After he revolved his Ancient Manual and accumulated all the flow energy that he could gather in a day, the orb was still transparent…he had to turn it into a pitch black orb for a successful transfer.
"At this rate I am afraid I will have to sacrifice a year worth of energy to turn this orb black…"
There was spirit energy as well, but Max was reluctant to use it since he was close to a breakthrough.
"There has to be an alternate way….after all, there is no way that we can afford a year's worth of time just to get a single item…"
Max sat there thinking for a while when Andriel suddenly came towards him and sat beside him. She then hooked her arm with Max before laying her head on his shoulder.
"What are you doing?" Max asked as he looked at her.
"Why? Is this place reserved for someone?" Andriel asked with a smile.
"Would you please stop invading my privacy?" Max asked as he stared at her.
"I don't peep when you go to the washroom….showers are an exception though…" Andriel replied as she closed her eyes trying to enjoy the feel.
Max's face twitched on her hearing words.
Is there no way to block her?
Sera was still not mature enough to control her powers at will. From what Max had heard from Mr. Cool and the old spirit, it was most likely due the type of contract he had signed with Sera.
Both of them were on equal standing. So, Max couldn't control the place without Sera's approval and the same was true for her.
That's the reason, that Max couldn't do as he wished unlike Mr. Cool.
A minute later, Max called Twice.
He hadn't yet asked him about the matter regarding Beli.
As soon as Max called for him, Twice came running towards him like a good pet, wagging its tail and licking his hands.
"Come here.." Max patted the spot beside him and Twice immediately laid down.
"Did you find anything suspicious?" Max asked as he ran his hand through it's fur.

Twice released a purr before shaking it's head.
"Nothing?" Max was a bit surprised.
"Did she meet any of her family?" Max asked.
Twice nodded.
He continued to ask questions and framed it in an easy way for them to communicate.
The result was, Beli was a normal girl from a well-off family. There was nothing suspicious about her.
'Am I thinking too much?'
Max shook his head. She had a sensitive identity. Max wasn't willing to do something over the top. He would just keep an eye out, it wasn't a big deal to be prepared.
"Andriel you didn't suck my blood today…." Max suddenly asked as he looked at her.
"I am not a vampire and not to mention, you were injured earlier. So, it's better to skip today…" Andriel replied.
"I am fine, Elly healed me well. Besides, I don't want to take any chances with mom…." Max said with a smile.
"In that case, shall we try some other way….I don't like blood and you were injured too..." Andriel said as she licked her lips seductively.
"Don't joke around…" Max said as he held her approaching hands.
Andirel could only sigh, life was hard for her. But she was still determined to make Max totally fall for her one day.
A few minutes later….
"Is it enough?" Max asked as he withdrew his hand and sealed the cut using his Vital Arts.
"Umn.." Andriel nodded with an ugly look as if she was fed something disgusting.
Max nodded before leaving. He was planning to see if he could meet Elly and get healed if possible. Even if he couldn't, it wasn't a big deal….he should be fine within a day…
Andriel waved at him with a sweet smile. She was like a wife sending her husband off to work in the morning.
As soon as Max left, Andriel's face changed. A painful look emerged on her face and her steps faltered.
Andirel looked at her hand which seemed to be fading in the form of small orbs of white light.
She gritted her teeth and next instant the lights were pulled back and formed her hand once again.
Andirel took in a deep breath, sweat trickled down her forehead.
"This method of sucking blood is really bad…the backlash keeps drawing my life away…." Andriel sighed as a complicated look emerged on her face.

Back in the upper dimensions, she wanted to die but couldn't find death….Now she wanted to live and death was right at her doors….
…..
"What are you dazing in the sky for, old man? Another vision?" Mr. Cool asked, he looked at the old spirit.
"The Life of the Cursed Princess is nearing its end, people in the upper dimension will be crying out of joy…" the old man said with a sigh and shook his head, "She is still stubborn as hell…."
Mr. Cool looked at him before turning away to get back at his work. There were times when the old man will spew out sh*t without any explanation….
…
Edwinson House, Capital.
The Edwinson Lord sat on his chair. His face was tense and he seemed to be annoyed as hell. He looked at the two hostile fellows sitting in front of him.
"You two better give me a valid reason….or don't blame me for not showing any courtesy…"
"I want your grandson for my granddaughte." Lorenz Lord said with a straight face.
Edwinnson Lord's face changed for a second, "Why were you fighting then? Of course, I will allow it as long as the child agrees…"
"Bang!"
Lisa's grandfather slammed the table in anger, giving the old man a scare.
"You dare!! What about my granddaughter then?!!"
Edwinson Lord's face changed once again. He shifted his gaze between the two of them and finally realised the Lorenz Lord was not here for Nathan but his other grandson.
"T-This…How is it possible? I already gave my words to this old fellow….Lisa and Max are...you know it don't you…" the old man looked at him with a frown.
The Lorenz Lord flicked his wrist and sent a picture to him.
Edwinson Lord caught the picture and was stunned the next instant.
'This brat!!!' He immediately became furious after seeing it. This could be scandalous if Lisa and Max's engagement was announced to the public. But the old man still maintained his calm.
"What is this? I don't see anything wrong…" the old man said with a calm look.
"Don't be like that old friend…" Lorenz Lord said with a smile.
"Just kick him out...what are you waiting for?" Lisa's grandfather said with a frown.
'Like the hell can I kick him out!! Did you forget my grandson in his hands right now?!!' Edwinson Lord wanted to scream but held himself back.
"What do you want to do? I am not willing to break the engagement between the two at any cost…" Edwinson said with a calm tone.
Lorenz Lord frowned at his words. He wasn't willing to back down. In reality, his reasoning wasn't so simple.
Last time, when Max was held for the crime of murdering a fellow student. There was a warning from the Lord of the Kingsman Family to not take it too far…obviously it was masked in a way that it didn't appear to be protecting Max...but just protecting the student of the Academy…
But the Lords of the 12 Houses were not foolish, most of them were suspicious of it….
Only Lord Lorenz was the one who knew that there was nothing suspicious here, he had personally received a letter from the Zatch Lord to shelter the child.
After all, the Neutral Houses were under their jurisdiction and Garry Lorenz was a man of justice, as well as one of the older generation Lords, his words would surely carry a lot of force.
It was clear that Max was someone who was favored by the two Lords specially the Zatch Lord, if he could get Max for Elly then even if Elly's powers were discovered accidentally Max could still protect her….
Obviously, the picture still played a major part in his decision. His granddaughter's happiness was his main concern.
Elly never truly smiled in front of him. He had only seen her smiling in front of her friends a few times...but in that picture, she had the brightest smile he had ever seen….
Today he would have to get the boy for her granddaughter….he had been revered as a Hero all this time but it got him nothing except for some glory which was of no use to him….today, he was willing to be a thug if it was for his granddaughter….
"Let's wait for a while, I have asked Sirius to do a few things for me, he will be arriving soon…." Lorenz Lord said with a smile.

This will just be a write, read then upload kind of thing for me while i try to flesh out more worldbuilding. I'm pretty novice when it comes to writing just a few years of secondary english under my belt but hardly any of that's creative. NGL, a lot of this world building is inspired by Tower of God or other fiction i have read, especially the tower-like setting.
