The Ancient Genes Chapter 383

"First Master, how is this possible? Didn't the Third Master only have a daughter?" One of the Elders finally spoke breaking the ice.
"Who said that?" Razel asked with a smile shutting the elder up.
'F*ck! Do you expect people to go asking around whether you have a son or not?' The Elder cured inwardly.
"Max!" Razel spoke out loud.
Max heard his uncle call out to him. He then looked at Lisa who finally came forward and took Aria from him. He then calmly walked before standing beside Razel.
"How are you doing, young man? It's been a while…" Razel said with a smile.
"Yes, I am doing good. I hope the same for Uncle and Grandpa…" Max said with a bow.
Since this Uncle was pretending like he knew him, Max decided to do the same.
He then looked at Saleos and smiled, "Who is this person, Uncle?"
Razel looked at Max in surprise before smiling, "Greet him, he is your Second Uncle."
"Oh! Nice to meet you, Second Uncle…" Max said as he looked at him.
"Nice to meet you too, Max…." Saleos said with a smile. "Just how many secrets is my second brother hiding. First a daughter and now a son….is there any more my nephew…"
"No there isn't, Uncle….you don't need to be troubled. I am enough for you…I mean enough to take care of you. " Max said with a smile.
Slaeos looked at Max and the air seemed to freeze for a second.
"It sure is odd though, two children and neither has any of the parents elements…" Suddenly someone spoke among the crowd.
Razel frowned hearing that while Saleo maintained the smile on his face. Among the rumors spreading around, there was another which was being spread around that Lithiya was exiled for cheating Zack. And now neither of their children had an element resembling their parents.
It was still fine and little believable in case of a Variant such as Ice but for a common element as fire. That was not a good thing.
Max understood that the situation wasn't going in a good direction after observing Razel's expression.
He then looked at the Elder with a severed arm.
'Well, he knows it already….in that case, I will use it for my advantage…'
Max knew that it wasn't possible to hide now that the man had seen his spirit snake. Initially, he could put it off as just a normal contracted beast. But when the Elder crushed the spirit snake, Max didn't suffer any backlash. That made things different. The only possible way for this was to make a beast willingly follow you….and there were only a few people who could do it….

Max looked at Saleos and spoke, "You are wrong Uncle, I have taken after my mother…."
"That fire from before wasn't mine…" Max spoke as the fire spurred out of his body and a flaming bird shot out in the sky.
"That is a beast…." Max spoke as he pointed at the bird. "I have an affinity with Nature just like my mother…''
"Isn't that just a manifestation of flames? I have never seen a beast like that…" One of the Elders said.
"Just because you haven't seen it doesn't mean that it doesn't exist…." Max replied.
It was true, the Orena wasn't searched thoroughly by the humans. The humans didn't even dare to venture deep into the place. There were still tons of unknown species and a few were discovered every year.
"Besides, I am sure that the Elder there can clarify it…he even killed one of my beasts…" Max said as he looked at the elder with missing arm.
Soon everyone's eyes turned towards the Elder. He knew there was no way he could back out of the situation. Besides, now that Max's identity was out, he just couldn't outright deny his words.
"I had no idea about your identity, Young Master. I will make up for the loss I caused…" the Elder replied. But the b*stard didn't look apologetic at all. He didn't even say sorry.
''You don't need to apologize…" Max smiled as he further spoke in his mind 'because you will pay for it soon…'
"Th-"
"I think that's enough for today. I don't have any more time to play with you. I have an important meeting to attending in father's place.'' Razel cut off Saleos before he could even let out the word.
But the things he spoke about sure were interesting.
''In three days, we will hold a ceremony for my nephew's return...everyone's remaining doubts will be cleared then…" Razel further spoke as he looked around before turning to leave.
Max looked at Saleos before turning around as well.
With them gone, Saleos left as well and soon the news began to spread.
…
"Father!" Janet screamed seeing Razel appear beside her. Razel patted her head before holding Nathan's hand.
A second later he finally exhaled in relief and turned to look at Max with gratitude.
"Take him inside, let him rest….he would eventually wake up…" Razel said before turning around and looking at the girls present. " I apologize for the commotion today…"
"It's fine, you don't need to...." Lisa immediately shook her head.
Raze smiled and nodded his head looking at Lisa. He was pleased with her response. She was a good match for his nephew.

"Come with me, Max. Father, is waiting for you…" Razel said before looking towards Lisa, "You too little lady.."
"Me?" Lisa was surprised as well, not only her but others around her as well.
"Let's go…" Max muttered. He didn't want to dwell on the topic here. It seems his Uncle knew about them. Max was afraid that he would let it out in front of everyone.
Soon, Max and Lisa left with Razel while others went back into the Manor with confused expressions.
"Umn...Uncle...do you know about us?" Max suddenly asked.
"Of course, you are getting engaged next year. We are already planning to begin with the preparations." Razel replied with a smile.
Both Lisa and Max felt their head ache after listening to that. They both exchanged glances and sighed.
"Umn...Uncle can you keep it a secret. I haven't told any of my friends about it…" Lisa suddenly said.
"Oh...I see…"
Max didn't know if it would be of any use. All the Lords knew about the matter. Obviously they wouldn't be the type to go around gossiping though. But it was still possible for the matter to leak out….
….
Soon Max and Lisa entered the Lord's chamber. Razel didn't follow them as he had a meeting to attend.
"You really like wreaking havoc, don't you? I regret allowing you to do it..…." the old man said with a sigh as he looked at Max.
"Well, who thought they would be so weak…"
The old man's face twitched listening to Max.
"Anyway, it went smoothly. Leave the rest to me.." The old man said calmly.
"You call that smooth?" Max asked with raised brows.
"Solving an issue without any casualty is called smooth here…" the old man replied.
"So what is your thought after finally coming into the House?" The old man asked.
"The future looks bleak for you, honestly. With that idiot, next in line after Uncle…it will be destroyed…" Max shook his head as he thought about Nathan.
"I would have killed him, if he was lowest class piece of sh*t but it turned out he wasn't…" Max spoke calmly.
The reason he gave him a chance in the first place was because he was the next in line to the throne after his uncle. With him gone, things could have been a bit troublesome.
The old man's eyes twitched as he turned to look at Lisa behind who just smiled. He was afraid that he might ruin things between them….but it didn't seem she was affected at all.
"Don't mess around, too much. Even jokes have to be within a limit. He is the next in line after my son, if you joke around like that….it can cause major misunderstanding.." The old man tried to play around.
"I wasn't joking around. Besides, what's the big deal. Uncle and Aunt are still not that old. If that idiot doesn't improve….I will have you make Uncle and Aunt work hard for family's sake to produce another one to replace that idiot…" Max said calmly.
"You!!!" The old man didn't know what to say to him.
Lisa held her laughter back and turned her face below with a hint of redness around her cheeks.
"Anyway, no more jokes….I called you here to ask, what you two did?"
"What did we do?" Max asked in confusion as he looked at Lisa whose expression was no different than him.
"Yes, your Grandfather visited me and almost started a war when I refused the engagement to be held in a year….in the end, I had to give in after hearing that you two agreed to it as well…"
When the old man was done talking, Lisa's face turned red and smoke began to come out of her ears. She had tried so hard to forget that embarrassing moment only to be reminded again.
The old man saw Lisa's reaction and waved his hand, "Go, as long as you two agreed, it isn't a problem…" He didn't want to get in between the Young ones.
After Max left, the old man suddenly spoke, "You there..."
The old butler appeared beside him and replied, "Yes, my Lord..."
"Why didn't you slice his head?" the old man asked with a calm voice.
"My Lord, he is an Elder. It could have caused the dissatisfaction among the other Elders..." the old Butler replied.
"Go and bring me his head....I even let my son and daughter-in-law suffer for years just to protect my grandson. If someone thinks he can just walk out swinging his sword at him...then we need to set an example..."
"Yes, my Lord..." the old butler replied before disappearing.
