The Ancient Genes Chapter 362

Lorenz Mansion, Capital.
"Why did you reveal such crucial information to me though?" Max asked after hearing about this Young Lord.
"Well, it's possibly because the Lord believes you…." Sirius replied.
"I haven't even met him in person…" Max didn't believe him.
"Well, aren't you the Walker House's son-in-law? Since, the Former Lord Dian of the Walker House is one of the people who is aware of this situation….it's obvious that my Lord is willing to trust you. A man who has been judged by him will definitely earn my Lord's trust as well…."
Max didn't know what to say. Did that old man really judge him?
"Besides, it's a good opportunity. You see, the Young Lord has always spent his time in the house. Whether it is for his protection or not, it's too hard for a child….he now even refuses to do anything and is acting up…."
"So, the Lord has decided to use this opportunity to bring you an outsider as a playmate and a tutor at the same time…."
Max finally understood the situation. He even understood that the relationship between Lorenz and Walker ran deeper than he thought.
"Do you have any questions?" Sirius asked with a calm look.
Max looked at him before speaking, "What were you doing before I entered?"
Sirius's eyes widened for a second as a smile emerged on his face.
"You have got some keen senses. But it's too early for you to know….."
"Anyways, the lady from earlier will help you with your things….just ask her for anything…."
"I have already told you about your job. If there are any changes, I will inform you. And please, refrain the use of mana in the mansion unless training the Young Lord. Aside from that, you don't need to do anything else…."
Max nodded before turning around and leaving. He honestly didn't expect an answer. He just wanted to confirm if it was really Sirius's own doing or not and he confirmed it.

"Do you have a code of conduct or I am free to use my methods on your Young Lord?" Max suddenly halted his steps and turned around to ask.
Sirius looked at him before finally speaking, "Why don't you show me how you work? I will decide after looking at it."
Max nodded before leaving.
Sirius was sure going to regret if he knew how Max was.....
….
"Do I really need to wear this?" Max asked with a troubled look as he looked himself in the mirror. Dressed in a black suit, he had to be a butler now…
"It looks good on you…" The lady who had been accompanying Max said with a smile.
"Here...fill this. And this for protection. If you want a change of weapon, you can ask. You are a mage after all…"
"It's fine…" Max replied as he picked up the gun. It was not so unusual to give the servants firearms who served directly under someone important. Only in the case when they weren't mages though.
Max then filled up the form and officially became the Tutor cum servant for the Lorenz House.
….
"The one in the left corner…." Max mumbled as he went up the stairs and took the left turn before knocking on the door.
"Knock!"
"Knock!"
But to his surprise, the door was pushed back showing that it was open.
"Didn't she say that the kid was stubborn and never came out of the room? Why is the door open?"
Max was just asked to go out and try his luck. If he failed, Sir Sirius would personally introduce the Young Lord to him.
Max looked inside the room. He didn't see anyone inside. The sound of water splashing in the bathroom was apparent to Max though.
Max walked into the room. It was a luxurious one.

'Now, how do I talk to kids? How old is he anyway?' Max had forgotten to ask about it. Besides, after meeting Bahamut he really was forgetting how a normal kid looked like.
In the end, he just gave a knock on the bathroom door. It was better to do it normally then doing something weird and spoiling his first impression.
Max definitely wouldn't want that.
The noise of the shower stopped and soon the door opened
"You are here, Rio?"
The person that walked out wasn't a kid. It was a hot babe. At least that was what Max thought.
With her head covered with the towel, Max could still clearly make out her figure from the bathrobe wrapped around her body.
Behind her, another person walked out of the bathroom in a similar appearance but the towel wasn't covering her face.
As soon as her gaze met with Max, she froze.
"What are you doing here?" Aria asked with wide eyes.
"I missed you…" Max said with a smile. It seems getting teased on Andriel time after time had made him change a bit. Since he couldn't get back at her he could only take it out on others....
Elly immediately pulled down the towel and looked at Max in surprise as well.
Aria looked at Max a bit surprised at his response. What was with his change of heart? She didn't believe his words at all….
"Stop fooling around….why are you here?" Elly asked with a frown seeing his smile.
"I haven't got any business with you. You can leave. Just sent me the owner of the room." Max said as he calmly walked aside and sat on the chair. He really didn't want to go to all the lengths and explain everything to them. Not to mention, there was still Aria here. Max didn't know if it was the right thing for her to hear about it.
Max could feel two intense glares even with his eyes closed.
"Don't worry I won't leak out your relationship. I didn't see you two walking out of the same bathroom."
Aria wasn't the one to get easily angered. But for some reason when it came to Max, he really could get her angry within seconds.
"Y-You! Come here…'' Aria immediately walked towards him but Elly grabbed her hand and shook her head.
"Let's go...we won't get anything from him." She said before dragging Aria out of the room.
…..
"What are you doing, Aria? Falling for his cheap provocation….he was just toying around due to boredom…." Elly said looking at her. This was very unlike her to be getting angry this easily.
"Umn...I know. I just planned to scare him. I wasn't angry really.. " Aria tried to lie her way out. Whether Elly bought it or not was another thing.
….
Max sat in the room and kept waiting all the way until noon before finally opening his eyes.
He then immediately used his senses to locate every single person in the mansion before finally finding the missing culprit.
"Hmm….he is around Lilly's age. This might be a bit easier…." Max thought as he got up and began walking towards the room with the two ladies and a little boy but his feet suddenly stopped as he raised his head and looked at the man who appeared to be dressed in a similar fashion as him.
But Max could clearly feel the creepy aura that the man was trying to hide...

Good Guy Necromancer
Necromancers are murderous, repulsive, utterly ungodly creatures. And then there's Jerry. Jerry is a novice necromancer who treats his undead warmly, seeks to befriend people instead of harvest their bodies, and doesn't mind cracking a skull or two when needed. He genuinely is a good guy—too bad nobody believes him. Jerry tries to settle down, wanting nothing but a peaceful life for him and his undead—and, when that doesn't quite work out, he sets out to adventure. He will make friends, each unique in their own way, and together, they will travel through a variety of striking environments; from a tiny village, to the land of the dead, to a jolly archipelago, to a kingdom on a beanstalk. To save a world that shuns him, Jerry must stand against a large organization of arrogant, mighty wizards. He strives to become stronger while maintaining his kindness, only to realize that, maybe, gentle hearts make the greatest necromancers. This is the story of a delightful man in a harsh world—full of warmth, action, and wise-cracking bone puns. Chapters are usually 2-3k words, and updates are 3/week: Mon, Wed, Fri. Can a Lich Cry
Update every 1-2 weeks. Well, I say that, but I usually write during the weekdays and chill in the weekends. Should be the other way around, but writing helps me destress with schoolwork. The cover is a make-shift drawing I made some time ago. The Seven Kingdoms moved at the will of their prophets. They were the voices of their gods, and the deities wanted blood. After being caught in the crossfire, a young man named Sura died among the endless corpses. However, he inherited the Curse, and the Curse did not allow him to rest. When Titus conquered the Seven Kingdoms, he was still there. When mages became the new prophets, he was still there. Centuries later, the lich had faded into the unknown as the aide of Fia, the bastard mage and the only descendant of Titus. A dead man did not have anything to protect, so what did he fight for? For the game was not over, and it was still his to lose.
