The Ancient Genes Chapter 356

"What do you mean?'' Wilson got up onto his feet with a frown.
"Don't speak anymore….I will tell him." Max decided to shut Lear off before turning towards Wilson, "And calm down or I won't tell you anything…."
Wilson calmed himself down and sat back on the couch, looking at Max with an unsettled expression.
Max sighed as he explained everything to him. He even told her how he and Anna were connected as the Awakened ones and what was going in the world now.
Max and Lear looked at Wilson who seemed to be trying his hardest to calm himself. His fist clenched and his face all tensed. His eyes were close as he held himself back from bursting in anger.
"If I knew it, I wouldn't have just broken his teeth before leaving the family…...I would have even gone forward with my plan for blowing the Scarlet Mansion apart…"
Lear looked at Max, his eyes were speaking for himself. 'Did I hear it wrong?'
Max confirmed it to him that he wasn't hearing things.
"So, what is this all about?" Max asked. By now, it was obvious something had happened.
Wilson raised his head and looked at him before speaking, "After I was called back home, my father seemed to have plans of declaring me as his successor."
"Oh!" Max was surprised. Even though Wilson's sister was more renowned and deemed to be stronger than him. His father still chose Wilson.
Max didn't think it would be odd if he does her daughter. If needed to be, he could have just let his son-in-law marry into his family and make his daughter the Lord. If Max remembered correctly, there had been such instances in the past.
"I accepted his proposal on the promise that he would help me find Anna's family. It seems he knew that Anna was missing and didn't seem to be bothered at my request…."
"So what happened?" Max asked.
"Her family kicked me out on hearing my very name. Her father even brought out an axe. I could pretty much get it...my family had to be the one which has something to do with her disappearance…."
"Is that why you left the family then?" Lear asked with a troubled look. They had just missed such a great chance.
"I kind of had that thought from then but It was my Younger Step-brother who sealed the deal.... after I broke a few of his teeth and bones along with a few other people's as well." Wilson replied.

"Why?" Lear asked in confusion.
"One day, he took me out with him on father's order. Planning to introduce me to the other successors of our branch families."
"They took me to a brothel and that's where Anna's name came up…At first, I didn't react thinking it was just someone with same name... But after they started describing her…..I knew it....those b*stards…."
"So that's how it came to it?" Max looked at him and he nodded.
"I thought it was just a coincidence…..but after calming down, I knew it was intentional…."
"My father immediately halted the preparation for my declaration as the successor….I had a few rough words with him...after the heated conversation I told him that I would leave."
"It still doesn't explain you blowing up your family mansion?" Lear asked.
"That's….a bit personal…I had the opportunity to do it with my father away...but in the end I couldn't bring myself too…"
"Only if I had known about this….I would surely wouldn't have hesitated back then…."
Wilson finally got up from his seat. "I am leaving…"
"Where are you going? I heard they seized your dorms….since you don't have the noble title anymore…" Lear said with a curious look.
Max suddenly turned and grabbed Wilson by his shoulder.
"Where are you going?"
"Back to my family…." Wilson replied.
Max immediately grabbed him with both his arms and pinned him against the closet.
"Y-You!!! What are you doing?!''
"You want to go and kill him...don't you?" Max asked. He understood his way of thinking.
"So what? He deserves it….". Wilson said as he tried to move but much to his surprise, he couldn't even budge himself under Max's grip.
"Calm down….that guy is Anna's prey….it will be helpful to her if she deals with him on her own…."
Wilson understood Max's words. But he still couldn't help but want to strangle that guy to death with his own two hands.
"Hmmn?" Suddenly, Wilson frowned as heard the sound of breathing coming from the closet.
Max left Wilson seeing he had calmed down.
Wilson twisted his neck glaring at Max. It didn't feel good. The weakling was strong now.
"There is a person inside, isn't there?" Wilson said pointing at the closet, "Your, girl?"
Max turned his head to look at Lear with wide eyes,"You locked Lora in the closet?"

"Why the hell would you think it's a girl? And why the hell do you think it is Lora?" Lear said with an irritated face as he walked up to the closet and pulled the door.
"Thud!"
A guy fell out of the closet as soon as the door was open. His hands, feet and mouth were tied.
Max remembered it was the guy whom he had caught. He was the one who has attacked Lear before. Max had asked Lear to take care of him while he was gone.
"Did he talk?" Max asked.
Lear shook his head, "Nope….his mouth is sealed."
'Andriel…' Max called out to her. He had been able to see the Grandmaster's memories. He wondered if it was possible here.
'You called?' Soon her pleasant voice sounded.
'Can you suck his life force and provide it to me? I want to read his memories...' Max spoke in his mind.
'That has a very less chance of working. Besides, he might not be willing to share his memories unlike that old man….'
'I see...so there is no way…' Max sighed.
'Well, I didn't say that. I can directly read his memories. But he will be dead afterwards.' Andrew replied.
'What are we waiting for then? Let's do this…' Max was excited to finally get this trouble out.
'No, I won't…'
Andriel's words immediately dampened his excitement.
'Don't trouble him, Andriel. You are being ungrateful….' Max heard Leviathan's voice who seemed to have come to his support.
'You are the ungrateful one having lewd thoughts about him…'
'Ah!'
A single reply from her was enough to shoot Leviathan down.
'What do you want?' Max finally asked.
'Time! Every time you rest, you will be at my mercy you can't avoid me….of course, I promise to not do something weird…'
'So she realise her actions are weird….' Max thought. In the end, he could only nod at her.
Max then stepped forward and grabbed the man's head as he opened a space for spirit energy to flow.
"What are you doing?" Lear asked.
"I finally have a way to settle it…." Max spoke.
Soon the man's eyes turned white and his breathing stopped as he slumped onto the floor.
Max kept his eyes close as he interacted with Andriel telling him what he wanted to know and what kind of information could be helpful.
When Max finally opened his eyes, Lear asked, "So is he from the Achilles?''
Max nodded.
''But he isn't working for the family. Just like your second brother, he is under one of James goons…"
Max frowned. James was turning to be more of a pain than he thought.
"They are trying to cause chaos…..after you brought Aria to hospital, you were attacked. Not to mention he intentionally showed you the family crest. Their plan was either to kill you and in case of failure, pit the Achilles and the Barnes against each other."
"What would they gain from it? Ain't he trying to take control of both the houses. It would be better if he were to improve the relationship between them…'' Lear asked, a bit confused.
Max too couldn't understand that….
It was obvious he couldn't grasp it now. He didn't know about the relationship between Oven brothers and even more so about the fact that Werner Ovens was being matched with Aria Achilles.
If Max has known about these two things, he might have been able to deduce it…
"What to do about him?" Wilson asked as he pointed at the dead guy.
Max let out his Spirit snake, "It would clean things up…"
"Stop! Don't do it here…" Lear said as he dragged the body into his bathroom and the spirit snake followed.
"You live here for today...We will talk with the headmaster tomorrow, I think he has returned...if you move back to Aracne Academy...it will save you from the dorm problem…" Max said and Wilson gave a nod.
With that, Max left bidding his farewell….
A few minutes later….
"Bang!"
"Bang!"
…
…
Wilson and Lear were surprised by the continuous heavy banging on the door.
"Stop banging!! I am here already…'' Lear opened the door in anger but didn't find anyone there.
"Cat!!! Cat!!! No...Max!!!"
Lear turned his head around to see a kid inside the room screaming around. The kid suddenly turned around and looked at Lear.
The next instant, Lear felt a thud on his back and he was lying on the ground.
"Where is Max? I heard he was here…..answer me!!!"
