The Ancient Genes Chapter 353

"Let's go there...the place looks empty…" Lisa said as she pointed towards the empty stall.
Elly could only let herself get dragged around by her.
"Are you guys still serving?" Lisa asked with a smile.
The red haired guy sitting on the table turned his head and his eyes met with the two ladies.
"No, we are closed…" Wilson replied.
"Y-You stop messing around! We are still open…" A person appeared from behind the stall glaring at Wilson.
But when Lisa and Elly looked at him, they couldn't help but be surprised.
It was Naze.
Talk about coincidence.
This place was the Stall set up by the bunch of trouble makers. Earlier, Kevin and Axel had been taking care of it but now they had changed shifts and went out to have fun.
Everybody had to participate in this event. Some students performed dramas, while some danced, or performed a band show.
That was only for normal people. People like Wilson obviously couldn't get along with others well. They weren't invited by classmates to participate in any activity. They could only set up a stall and do something like this to avoid trouble.
It was good for Lisa and Elly on the other hand. The boys just let them onto their groups without letting them do anything. It seemed their classes had performed a little while ago.
Lisa looked at Elly asking for what to do now. Elly had already taken a tour around campus. She didn't want to take another one.
"Let's eat here…."
Elly and Lisa took their seats and looked at Naze, probably looking for a menu.
Naze glanced at Wilson who was lying down like usual. It was because of this guy that they didn't have a single student eating here. Everyone just made a U-turn after looking at him. Only a few of the Academy staff had come to them.
"Oi! Get up and do it….I am the only one working my a*s."
Wilson looked at him irritated.
"I won't include your name in our group if you don't work…." Naze made it clear to him.
Wilson looked at him and finally got up. It hasn't been long since he met them. It was already nice of them to include him so he could avoid trouble. So, even though he didn't feel like doing it, he just couldn't act like a jerk to someone being kind to him.
"Fine...I will do it. But let's just close after this…"
Wilson got up from his seat and picking up the pamphlet and walked towards the two ladies.
"Here, what do you need?'' Wilson put the pamphlet on the table and asked them to select their order.

"That's quite the way to treat your customers." Lisa said with a frown.
"You can leave it, you don't wanna eat…"
"You are really like the rumors say, Wilson Scarlet." Elly said as she looked at him. She clearly knew about his true identity.
"If you are here to play detective, please leave…besides, a lady like you eating at this place doesn't suit you. It's better if you leave." Wilson remained indifferent to her words and Max couldn't help but smile looking at the scene.
Elly placed her hand and calmly placed her order fearing tha Lisa might just get up and leave in anger.
Lisa too placed her order with a frown seeing the Elly had already done it.
Naze calmly walked up to them passing down the bottles of water before walking away without glancing at them.
Soon, Wilson walked out with two plates in his hand. Both had different contents in them. The aroma was enough to make water to form in anyone's mouth.
It was unexpected, but this guy was a Master Chef. Obviously, he had his own story for that…..but let's leave it for another day…
"Wow, it tastes good…." Lisa couldn't help but praise in amazement.
Elly too seemed a bit surprised as she took little chunks in her mouth.
"I will clean the stuff and close the stall…." Naze as he walked into the stall.
...
"Sh*t!"
A few minutes later Naze rushed out with a shocked face. He was carrying a bottle in his hand which was half empty.
Even though there was not any label on the bottle, Max could tell it was alcohol.
"Why is it half empty?" Naze asked Wilson with a troubled look.
"Wasn't it for cooking?" Wilson asked not knowing what was wrong here.
Lisa even though was hearing it, she didn't seem to have any idea what was in the bottle.
"Are you kidding me? We aren't even allowed to drink it, much less bring it to the Academy. You think it's normal to use it for cooking?"
"Then why was it there?" Wilson asked as he looked at him.
"T-That….'' Naze fumbled.
"Don't tell me…"
"Yeah, fine! It was for me. It's a stress reliever. Have you got any problem with that?" Naze asked with a frown.
"Nope….I don't care." Wilson shrugged.
"Thud!"
"Thud!"
The noise caught the duo's attention. It was the sound of Lisa's face smashing down on the table followed by Elly. On a closer look, their face had turned red.
"F*ck!" Naze cursed as he grabbed his head.

Max looked at the scene shaking his head. What a troublesome event…..
Thankfully, Lisa was still conscious…..even though she might not be aware of it, she was seeing and hearing things….
"Ok then, I am done with my job. Good night!" Wilson said he decided to part with him.
"Stop! You are not going anywhere…." Naze pounced on him clutching his neck.
"You wanna die…" Wilson spoke with a calm voice and he immediately let go.
"You can't walk out on this, I will get you involved if you left without helping me…" Naze threatened.
"Oh? You dare?" Wilson spoke with a smile.
"Why won't I? You think you can scare me? Go ahead then. Beat me, it will only help me to put all the blame on you….." Naze said with a sly face as he opened his arms.
"Tsk….you sure unlike that naive brothers of yours…." Wilson said as he clicked his tongue walking towards the table.
"He sure is naive…" Naze said with a sigh.
"I am taking her back to her dorm...you take the other one….don't blame if you get caught or else... I will kill you…" Wilson said as he grabbed Elly who was closer to him and disappeared with a flash.
"You kidding me? The Dorm supervisor is a Mid Tier Mage…..there is no way I could get past her…." Naze cried but Wilson was long gone.
Max could understand him. He was not at the age of awakening yet. Max had heard from Axel that he was not a variant like him.
"It sure is good being a variant…." Naze said with a sigh.
His only option was to force Lisa back to her senses and get her going. He gazed at the food on the plates. Lisa hadn't even eaten anything yet and was down already while Elly was half the way through.
"She should wake up within an hour or two is she has only eaten that much …..lets see if I have something to fasten the process…" Naze mumbled.
He didn't notice but Max sure did. There were people sneaking around.
'Don't tell me this is the 'drugging' from tha Naze was wrongfully blamed according to Axel...' Max suddenly thought as his brows tightened.
An hour passed and Naze finally closed the stall. It seemed that there was a time limit….
He then came in front of Lisa and looked at her with a troubled look as he mumbled, "I don't even know what Axel saw in this idiot…."
The words surprised Max and his eyes widened. If he could have interacted with him, he sure would be holding him by his collar and doing so….
"Let's leave this place...people should be returning to the dorm...it will be troublesome to be seen like this…" He muttered as he picked Lisa up and began walking away from the dorms.
Max followed behind. He was sure that there were others who were doing the same….
Time passed slowly…..
"Ah...where am I?" Lisa finally seemed to have come back to her senses. When she noticed her current position, she began struggling on Naze's back.
"Tsk…." Naze clicked his tongue in irritation and let go of her.
"Ah!" Lisa fell on her butt and groaned in pain as she glared at him.
"What's going on? Why am I here? Where is Elly?" She asked in anxiety realising the situation.
"You passed out. As for your friend, she went back and now you can leave too…" Naze didn't explain properly.
"Passed out?" Lisa asked in confusion before realization struck her. "Food!….yeah what did you do? You didn't do anything to us right?"
Anger was clearly on her face as mana began to revolve around her. Naze immediately took a couple of steps back.
"I am not interested in any of you. I sent her back and was planning to do the same here. But since you are up, you can probably go on your own…"
Lisa looked at him. It was true, she didn't feel any discomfort. But she still wasn't going to believe him, this guy was a liar….
"I don't trust you. I will complain to the Headmaster." Lisa threatened in anger. She wouldn't let it slide. It wasn't just her but Elly too…if Elly even had a scratch on her body. She would definitely rip this guy apart.
Well, now it all depended on Wilson. Only if that guy was considerate…..which wasn't likely to happen.
"You really are a headache…." Naze massaged his head.
"You sure have become rude after getting rejected…..I will investigate it personally and not involve the authorities if you tell me why you lied to me…what are you after…." Lisa decided to use this opportunity to probe him. Whether she was going to keep her words was unknown.
"Well, it will only be easy for me if you know the truth." Naze said after a bit of consideration.
"You are right, I lied…." He continued with a calm look.

From the Final World
I have lived a long, long time. Longer than the universe knows; longer than any star has seen or traveling light records. My memories; that is all that is left that knows that length, and that which was seen within it. Then again, that is all that ever did. When I am gone, it will be forgotten, a truth and a history lost forever no matter who or what tries to find it. I think that is why I write this now. A record, or a lament, of the most significant being of all time. It is a prideful exaltation of endless triumph, or the dread condemnation of infinite evil. I don’t know which; I shall leave it for others to judge. I could explain further, of course. I could list the sins that have been committed, the deeds that have been done. Yet for now, I believe this is enough. Her story will speak for itself. About the good, and evil, in the heart of a single girl burdened with more than her fair share. And how she reacted to it. So, I will tell her story. Of gods and devils, mortals and monsters, of legends long forgotten and civilizations long turned to dust. And in the end, I hope she knows herself, whether it is salvation, or destruction, she should receive.
