Blood splattered on the pavement dying it red.
"Ahhhh!!!"
All the girls screamed seeing the brutal scene.
"Is this all you have? So disappointing." the man spoke as he lifted Max by his hair and threw him aside.
"Thud!"
Max's body hit the floor and rolled twice before coming to a stop.
Lisa's eyes started to water.
The scene was brutal.
Max's body was covered with blood as he was lying without any movement.
"Well, it's over. Let's go get the girls. We haven't got the entire day." said the man as he gestured to the man behind him to get the girls.

That scene took place as Max lost consciousness.
He didn't even know what had happened. He couldn't even react when the man had made a move. It was only after the pain assaulted his body and his vision started to blur, he noticed that blood had started to ooze out from several places on his body.
As the darkness slowly covered his vision, he could only feel the coldness envelop him.
It was all over.
Max had tried his best. Even though he was afraid all along, he gritted his teeth and continued to struggle.
'Why?'
First of all, it was for the little girl. He couldn't help but see Lily's, his little sister's reflection in her.
Then, it was for Axle. He didn't have many friends. He doesn't even need two hands to count them. How could he leave him in trouble?
But he had failed.
Max could only apologize to everyone for dying.
'Mom, Dad, Lily, Axle, Mia, and everyone.'

'Whom am I even trying to fool?'
