The Ancient Genes Chapter 36

With the increase in his stats, Max could feel a bit of increase in my strength.
As he clenched his fist, a sharp pain ran down his hand.
He noticed the blood dripping out of his wound on the right hand.
He raised his left hand and pointed the two of his fingers out, he struck the right side of his chest just below his shoulders, stopping the bleeding.
Yes, the Vital Arts not only allowed him to strike the Vital parts of his opponent but also allowed him to learn about the various acupoints of the body.
As the bleeding stopped, he bent to pick up the rifle which he had thrown a while ago.
It was a semi automatic assault rifle. He really needed that right then. After what happened a while ago, He would only be a fool if he threw that away and besides the one of the points of raising his intelligence was to improve his aim.
Improving his intelligence was an important decision as right then, he needed to utilize Vital Arts at his best and with great intelligence, he would be able to implement that to his best of capabilities.
..
Max slowly walked forward with the weapon in both his hand as he did not have to worry about his appearance right then.
Finally as he walked out of the narrow alleyway, he was greeted by the sight of a giant building. It wasn't tall, but it was broad. And at the gate of the building were two men in similar get up as others. It seemed as if they were guarding the building.
It could only mean that there was something worth protecting. Max slowly walked forward.
"Freeze"
"Who's there ?."
Listening to the warning and the barrel of the gun pointed towards him, he raised his hand before activating his « Acting » skill.

"Hm.. is it you Fox?."
"Yes, it's me. I got injured by an intruder." Max spoke while letting his footsteps shudder.
Seeing his condition, the two guys at the gate rush forward.
He didn't know why but that guy seemed to be well known within his circle.
Both of them caught Max by his shoulders. The blood on his clothes which was from the wound earlier was doing its job.
"Racoon took him to the first aid center." One of the men spoke with a fearful voice.
"What about guarding the entrance?". The guy named Racoon spoke.
"Idiot, what do you think would happen if anything happens to Fox?"
Hearing this, Max could see Racoon shudder for a moment before hurriedly giving him support.
...
Finally, he entered the building.
"Ahh.."
He was trying to keep his acting. After all he wanted to be a perfectionist.
"Don't worry, we have asked the new kid to deploy a healing formation. You would be healed in no time."
Hearing Max groan, that guy tried to comfort him. But he wasn't fooling him. Healing formation wasn't that quick in healing.
But that wasn't what caught his attention. If they already had a formation master deploying a healing formation, could it be they have multiple formation masters.
He needed to find out.
"Huh.. I thought he was deploying the jamming formation."
Seeing them entering a deserted corridor with several rooms Max decided to take a chance.
With his hearing ability, he had already confirmed that there was nobody in the rooms.
If that guy showed any unnecessary intention, it wouldn't even take him a second to stab his dagger right through his heart in that position.
And that time, he won't hesitate.
"Amm.... We only needed three formation masters to deploy the jamming masters. Since he was a new recruit we gave him a separate task. Besides we can't trust him with an important task." He spoke in a mild tone.

"Oh.."Max replied in understanding.
"You don't need to worry. It's only your first day. It will take some time for you to understand this things. I was even worse than this on our first day." He spoke in a flattering tone.
'Now things were more clear or should I say more messed up.'he thought.
Huff..
The difficulty level was climbing with the increase in his strength.
"We are here." He spoke as they turned around the corner of the hallway.
He stepped forward and opened the door for him to enter.
At that moment, Max couldn't even imagine how that moment would affect his whole life.

This story is in a unique novel/script hybrid format. We will be writing most our stories in this format as we're going for a "written anime" experience, meaning we want our readers to feel like they're watching something when they're reading our stories. It might take about a chapter or 2 to get used to it. Feedback is always appreciated.
