Tap!
Tap!
Max's ears perked at the sound of hurried footsteps approaching.
Damnit
It looked like they heard the commotion. Only if he could have stopped him from screaming.
'What to do ? Now.' he thought while he was shaking.
Think Max.....think ....
He turned his head all around trying to look for any possible solutions when his eyes fell upon the guy lying beside him.
.....
5 minutes later
A short guy with a handbow hurriedly walked into the alleyway.
His steps paused as he saw the dead body beside him.
"What happened Fox ?." He asked in a serious tone, but Max couldn't determine his expression because of his mask.
"It was an intruder, this bastard injured my leg." With his «Acting» skill , Max was able to mimic the dead guy's body language and voice.
Hearing Max, his gaze turned towards his bleeding hand.
"Go get treated. I will arrange someone else to take your place." He spoke in a commanding tone.
Max gave him a nod before turning around and walking towards the different end of the alleyway under the short guy's gaze.
"Huff"
He let out a sigh of relief after getting out of his sight.
Thankfully, he changed his clothes with that dead guy earlier or else it would have turned into a mess.
After all he was not some OP Mc of an anime who could take all the bad guys by himself.
Anyways, he remembered the notification window flashing earlier.
It looked like he got something. He opened the notification window
« Host has defeated an enemy, gained 200 FP »
« Host has picked an AR-15 semiautomatic rifle »
« Achievement : First Kill »
« Reward : • 5000 FP
• Vital Arts. »
Woah!
That was the first time he had ever seen that system being so generous.

Obviously, among all the things which attracted him the most was Vital Arts.
« Vital Arts »
« An Art made by one of the strongest Gods of the Ancient Era. A supreme Art of killing. It aims at the Vital parts of the body. If used towards the enemy, it can turn the user into a killing machine »
OP
That was the very thought that he had in my mind.
He immediately learned the Vital Arts and it turned into one of his basic skills as it was only an art and it's level depended upon users application and physique.
A huge mass of information started to flow into his head.
After a minute.
His face twisted and his brows contorted.
That art could become a bit nasty at times.
Yes, it did not differentiate. That would guide the user to attack any part of the enemy's body as long as it could kill him.
But still at a time like that. It would become a life saver for him.
' System, show me my stats '. Max asked.
«Status »
Name : Max Edwinson (Lv 3) (0/4000)

Flow Method : Ancient Manual

« Stats »

Agility: 16
Intelligent: 8
Endurance: 11
Vitality: 10
SP left : 0
He guessed that he would be levelling up after all, at that time but he needed to be at my best.
'System put 4000 FP into lvl bar'
With that, he heard the system's voice.
« Host has gained a level »
« Status »
Name : Max Edwinson (Lv 4) (0/5000)
Race : Primal Human (Unawakened)
Genes Status: Awaken (4/100)%

A smile formed on his face as he looked at the status window.
He had already planned his next step and for that, he needed to increase his intelligence.
So he poured all his SP into intelligence increasing it to 14.
Now, that was time to move ahead.

Until You Do It Right
The world ended on December thirty-first of the year two thousand and twenty, precisely at the stroke of midnight. The human race began to be systematically exterminated by the spawn of the System. We were given a chance to defeat them, to take back our place at the top of the food chain. We failed. The first to perish were those who bravely rebelled. The soldiers. The defenders. One by one, they fell. In their final moments, they begged for aid. Nobody replied. The next to succumb were those who feebly cowered. The deniers. The leeches. Together, they fell. In their final moments, they cried out into the darkness. Countless voices replied in kind. The last to decline were those who shamelessly ran. The deserters. The cowardly. Alone, they fell. In their final moments, they whimpered quietly. There was nobody left to answer. The final human to die was a survivor. A runner. As he died, he begged for salvation. His prayers were answered. He was offered a chance to save himself, along with all of humanity, and he took it. This is his story. “I sat in the dark and thought: There’s no big apocalypse. Just an endless procession of little ones.”― Neil Gaiman, Signal to Noise. I am absolutely new to writing and will take any and all constructive criticism. Please give feedback, it is greatly appreciated. I will update the tags as they change, and I hope that you enjoy this little story I'm writing! Quick warning: Seamus is intentionally a flawed character, and this story is going to explore those flaws and perhaps even change a few of them. I do not agree with all of his actions, but it is what it is.
