Age Of Islands: I Can See Through All Things Chapter 16

Eugene nodded and sent the men out.
Then, Jack looked at Steve and said, "You are in charge of this matter. After the harvest is done, plant it in my residence and arrange for someone to take care of it 24 hours a day."
"Yes, Mr. President," Steve said quickly.
Seeing that Jack took it so seriously, no one dared to ask further.
They quickly went down to complete their mission.
Jack looked at the ground full of barley and felt a little pity.
This was too little!
This was only half an acre worth.
It could produce around 30 kilograms of wheat ears.
Other than the 20 kilograms that needed to be replanted, and after removing the shells, he would only have less than 10 kilograms left.
Then, Jack looked at Snike and said, "You did very well this time. From today onwards, you'll be in charge of the entire Hunting Squad. Continue to explore the entire island. If there are any abnormalities, inform the butler immediately."
"Thank you, Mr. President. Don't worry, I won't let you down!" Snike stood up and patted his chest.
Looking at the Inspection skill, Snike's loyalty soared to 85.
Just as Jack finished speaking, there was a commotion.
Instantly Jack felt it with his Observation Haki.
He hurriedly said, "Quiet. Listen carefully."
Everyone quickly quieted down.
"Whoosh whoosh whoosh…"
A soft voice came from the highland barley.
Everyone heard it.
Eugene's expression changed and he shouted, "It must be a magical beast. Protect the President."
After saying that, he pulled out his long sword as battle aura rose from his body, and killing intent spread everywhere. He took the lead and stood at the front, vigilantly looking at the highland barley grass.
The other Silver Swordsmen were not slow either. They quickly surrounded Jack and looked around vigilantly.
Everyone stared at the highland barley.
They were waiting for the magical beasts to come out.
At this moment, Jack suddenly thought of the information regarding the highland barley.

The barley had absorbed mysterious substances and mutated.
In other words, something nearby had triggered the absorption and caused it to mutate.
Besides, there did not seem to be any traces of large magical beasts around the highland barley area. It was very likely that it was triggered by animals that were also rare treasures.
Jack's face heated up at the thought.
He did not expect to obtain such a rare treasure.
At this moment, a strange animal's head emerged from the highland barley.
Looking at the exposed head, everyone was stunned.
They said in unison, "Chicken?"
Eugene finally reacted, and the sword in his hand slashed at the chicken at an unbelievable speed.
It was an emergency, but Jack finally reacted, shouting hastily: "Stop Eugene! Don't kill it."
Hearing the president's command, Jack's sword came to a stop right at the chicken's neck.
Although he did not know why the president said that, he still chose to follow his orders.
At this moment, the chicken wanted to run away after sensing danger.
But immediately, it was knocked out in an instant by Jack's Haki.
Jack pushed aside the Silver Swordsmen on both sides and walked up. He picked up the chicken and looked at it carefully.
This was not an ordinary chicken, it was just very similar.
It also had a chicken crown.
However, the chicken was orange and white.
It was also much bigger than ordinary chickens.
Then, Jack activated his Inspection skill.
[Name: White Horse Treasure Chicken (High Quality)]
[Introduction: The Chicken White Horse has evolved from consuming highland barley grains over a long period of time. The meat is fresh and delicious. Eating it over a long period of time can replenish vitality and strengthen the body.]
[Note: White Horse Treasure Chicken and highland barley are existences that grow together. Highland barley must be soaked in the poop of the White Horse Treasure Chicken to grow normally.]
After reading the description, Jack froze.
He did not expect the growth conditions of highland barley to be so harsh!

Fortunately, he had stopped Eugene. Otherwise, both of them would have gone extinct!
However, this was good as well. As the two needed each other, even if the highland barley was accidentally obtained by others, they would not be able to grow it without a White Horse Treasure Chicken.
This way, he would have another strategic resource!
After all, battle aura cultivation depended on the food ingredients. As long as there was sufficient food, the speed of advancement was very fast.
This was true before Platinum at least.
If food could be used to gain the support of the people at the bottom, then highland barley was useful against the people at the top.
He thought about those who had been stuck as a Silver Swordsman for a long time and could not advance. Once they learned of the existence of this barley, how much would they pay to buy it?
They would definitely be willing to go bankrupt!
Not only that, but eating highland barley could also change one's physique and increase the strength of the battle aura.
To a clan family, this was simply a priceless treasure!
No one would be able to resist the temptation of barley, right?
Unfortunately, the White Horse Treasure Chicken was not a one-star rare treasure.
Perhaps, when he obtained high-level barley, he could try to raise the White Horse Treasure Chicken to a new level.
Now, he could only tame it!
Jack could not help but think of the chicken from his previous life.
In his previous life, chickens became the second most eaten meat in the world.
The number of chickens that were killed every day could circle the Earth several times.
Furthermore, the chicken's growth period was short, its meat was fat, and it was not picky about its living environment. It was most suitable for mass breeding.
Once tamed, it could become the most stable meat supply on the island.
Thinking of this, Jack looked at Regiment Commander Enger and said, "After you go back, pick talents with animal husbandry knowledge as soon as possible and report to the place where I live, and also bring a group of carpenters."
The regiment commander nodded.
Although Jack had never raised a chicken before, there were some videos about it on his phone.
Previously, he had only taken a few more glances out of curiosity. He did not expect that he would be able to use it.
Then, Jack brought Eugene to search the area. There should be more than one White Horse Treasure Chicken in such a large area of barley.
Jack turned on his Observation Haki and Conqueror's Haki.
While searching, he suppressed them.
Otherwise, with the speed of the White Horse Treasure Chicken, it would be difficult for him to catch it without hurting it.
The two of them were very fast. In just a few minutes, they caught seven to eight White Horse Treasured Chickens.
During a hunt, they accidentally found a few nests of eggs.
The eggs of the White Horse Treasure Chicken were also bigger than ordinary eggs.
It looked like a goose egg, but it was rounder and brighter.
They searched for a while longer, but when they found nothing else, Jack and Eugene stopped.
Although it was not much, this was enough.
Especially those eggs, they must have been fertilized.
When the time came, he would find a few White Horse Treasured Chickens to hatch them, and it would be a considerable gain.
Jack gave the following search assignment to Snike.
He warned him not to harm the White Horse Treasure Chickens.
Snike agreed readily and quickly brought his men to search.
Then, Jack and the others prepared to bring the White Horse Treasure Chicken back to their residence.
Otherwise, when the White Horse Treasure Chicken wakes up, it would be another problem!
However, just as he took a few steps, the regiment commander rushed over with a few people.
Before he arrived, he shouted, "Mr. President, I have great news!"

Ancient Mana Dungeon Core.
Yes the tags are necessary, they will make sense eventually too. Art is not mine, found it on pintrest btw the title on the thing apparently has no name, or at least no title that you can search, at least, but i found this: ‘ArtStation - [UE4] Lost Temple Ruins Jonas Axelsson’ (if your curious I was searching ancient temple game art when i found it don’t bother clicking the link on the thing that says facebook, it does not work) (i will not lie this is kinda my first publication so go easy on me). A while ago I fell in love with the Dungeon Core stories and decided: ‘Heck, why not make my own spin on things!’ and so i started brainstorming what to do and i kinda just found the idea for the story during it. This is the story of a guy named Michael Alex (not a typo that is the name I will be using for him) he was an avid fiction writer and reader who was just sitting on his couch playing a puzzle game on his phone called: Ruins of Drailmor Keep (a three in one deal: tower defence, Puzzle (mazes generally), and world building (namely building on the ashes of fallen empires and regulating certain things while the waves of enemies keeps coming back to burn it down and ruin it just like the curse would while ocasionally sending out your own monsters to get rare rescources)) when he gets an alert and well one thing leads to another and he died to a freak avalanche. He then comes into contact with the universe's will (basically something that *insert your prefered deity here* cooperated with to make the world (heaven, hell, the mortal world, yggdrasil, basically every "world" that has been made (in reality, mythology, games, books, cartoons/movies, and memes!) but also had a mind of its own at the same talk.) and Michael and the Universe’s Will talked and this story is about the outcome of said discussion.

The Paths of Magick
Credits: Story by Xcaliburnt. Cover Art by @Bervolart. Magick, the power to bend the laws of reality. All because of a mystical substance known as mana. Mages follow the Paths to achieve power, for there is no more addictive chase. Each Path winds and twists, forcing mages through the flames of adversity and challenge. Though the operative word is "path", the reality is far less straightforward. Instead of a road, Paths are like the branches of world trees, erupting into the heavens, intertwining, and ending in sharp snaps. Only the strongest reach the sky. There are several Paths, and many Ways to walk them—variations of the same Path, and like the stars, they are endless. Magick is the sacred flame that scours the fat, rendering the truest self. Superfluous flesh melting away to show the skeleton of one's being. A chance for ascension—apotheosis. Though not every mage works to godhood, if they survive long enough, It is inescapable. Witness the lives of those that tread the knife's edge of self-destruction. Each one intertwined in their search for answers, revenge, and, most of all: power. These individuals have all lost something precious—irreplaceable—and In search of filling the void left behind, they have taken up the mantle of a mage. Per aspera ad astra. Ad mortem vel divinitatis. (Through adversity to the stars. To death or divinity.) There is no consistent release schedule except my consistent inconsistency. Besides, there’s like a thousand pages worth of content, how can—you already read it? Goddamn. Oh, and there is a very long hiatus between volumes as I intend to edit and rewrite a lot. What to Expect: This story is progression fantasy, so expect a healthy dose of training. It's also heavy on slice of life, and it isn't entirely overarching-plot-driven. Expect characters to live their lives, and not always be on some quest to save the world. There's a lot of magic theory and discussion about it in the story. So, if you don't like impromptu lessons on sorcerous theory by traveling monster slayers, this might not be for you. But if you do like it, rejoice! For there is a lot of it. This is also heavy on prose, purple as a bruised eye. I use outdated, uneccesarily collegiate-level terms and play around with the writing style just for the heck of it. I find it fun to wax and wane poetic, and that might grate on you—I don’t plan to change this aspect of the Paths much if at all. Onto the viewer discretion is advised parts: This is grim-dark/ grim-heart. Take the tags seriously. There will be combat scenes that are brutal and horrifying. Fights to the death tend to be. This is a tale about medieval mercenaries (quite literal killers for hire), man-eating monsters, and eldritch gods beyond the material plane. Beside that, there will be traumatic events that are best left unread. I do not detail certain acts I find heinous enough, instead leaving some parts unwritten but still alludded to if not outright stated; there is simply no graphic narration thereof. This is not for the faint of heart.
