《The Genius’ First Love》The Genius' First Love

Franco didn't know how to say it but he had to. Being the one who had taken initiative of taking in Dannah in his circle, Franco knew he was greatly responsible for her and all her actions. However this wasn't the only reason why Franco wanted to deal with Dannah Samuelle, because of all things the latter was her niece first before she became his agent. Not only a niece bounded by blood, but a niece he was greatly fond of as he loved Dannah greatly out of all the Lagdameo children. Not many might have known the affection he had for Dannah not even the girl himself because he was thoroughly strict and hard on her. However what everybody don't know was that, he had to be tough on Dannah because he wanted her to be strong and brave because he knew, she needed to be one, specially that there was no place for her in L Empire.
"Your brother came here few days ago," Franco started.
"I'm aware of that," Dannah answered unbothered by the statement and this alarmed Franco more.
"If that is so, then you are aware why he came?" Franco asked.
"He's looking for someone," Dannah knew about Darryl's investigation but only the tip of it. She didn't mind bothering her brother about the details because the latter had asked her to focus on L Empire and that was what she did all these times. "Why? Do you want me to find that person he was looking for? Can our men not do the job?"
"This wasn't about the man he was looking for," Franco's answered got all of Dannah's curiosity yet Franco could see not a hint of guilt or concern from his niece's eyes. With that, he grabbed an enveloped from his back and threw it to Dannah which the latter caught in her hand immediately. As soon as she had a grab of it, the girl dug through what's inside and her expression turned into something else. For a moment, Dannah wasn't able to talk.

"Collet planned the accident that killed the new Lagdameo heir six years ago," Only Franco's voice was heard in the room for a while because till then, it seemed that Dannah lost her tongue. "However, she claims that after the accident she did really thought CEO Leigh and the child died and so what left me wondering was the claim of you CEO Leigh that even when her family flee abroad, someone had been pursuing them," Franco knew all this fact from the files Darryl left on him.
"If Collet did believe that she died together with the child, then it only meant her crimes end there. She wasn't the one who had been hunting down CEO Leigh's family abroad. I didn't give it much thought at first until I found that," Franco pointed at the documents in Dannah's hand. "It was you Dannah. It was you who sent men abroad to haunt CEO Leigh's family,"
Dannah's face changed into something else. She was shaking but Franco couldn't tell whether it was because she was angry or if she was afraid. However, looking at her niece right then, Franco saw a side of her that he had never once seen and this frightened him a bit.
"I had my reasons," Dannah uttered.
Franco pressed his nose with his two fingers out of frustration. When he found out about what Dannah did, he couldn't help but worry. He knew he had to bring this up to Darryl but he couldn't help but feel for Dannah. He was torn between telling Darryl that what his sister did or keep it a secret for Dannah's sake. He certainly don't want to sell her out because no matter what Dannah did; Franco loved her as his own.
"Dannah tell me you had nothing to do with the Dugmoch's misery," Franco almost pleaded for her to say yes and their firing up confrontation was turning emotional. Out of all people, Dannah was the least person Franco thinks would sabotage her but all the evidence points out to her at the moment most especially that, if his suspicions were right, she was most likely the person who had all the power to tear L Empire down. The Lagdameo's might now know this, but Dannah was the most powerful out of all the Lagdameo's, not only because she was smart and well trained but because she had Scar wrapped around her fingers. Scar and Dannah combined, was one hell of a trouble even for L Empire itself.

"Of course I have something to do with their misery," Dannah was fired up and she raised her voice in instant, "The moment you put me in Ziggorioh Montreal's life, I was bound to bring them the curse of L Empire,"
"Sam…" Franco became confused of her reaction. "I don't know where all this was coming from. You being assigned to Ziggorioh Montreal was a separate case, I don't see know it had to do with what you did to the Dugmoch's"
"No. It wasn't," Dannah disagreed. "You making me a spy on him were the start of everything. And mind you uncle it wasn't only them who suffered. I also did. And no one could ever judge me for what I did because I was just trying to….I was trying…."
"…never mind…" Dannah shook her head and choose not to reason anymore, "Out of all the people, it is you who will never understand,"
"Sam—"
"I don't have to explain myself with you," Dannah cut him in and it was obvious from her expression that she's done with their conversation. "If there was any wrong I committed way back then, that was because I wanted to please people who don't deserve my loyalty and that includes you uncle," For the first time, Dannah called Franco uncle and the word both hurt them in many ways. Not wanting to make the conversation longer, Dannah walked out of the room, Lumus instantly stopped her at the door yet Franco cued Lumus to let her go and so the latter did.
However the conversation they had was left hanging and both of them wondered what to do with what they both figure out—Franco knew that Dannah had hunted the Dugmoch's for years and Dannah, knew already that her uncle already found out her old deeds.

The Simulacrum
"He who fights with harem tropes should see to it that he himself does not become a harem protagonist. And if you gaze for long into a narrative, the narrative gazes also into you." --- Friedrich Nietzsche (probably?) How would you react if one day you woke up inside an environment running on tropes and clichés? For allegedly average high-schooler Leonard Dunning, this question became quite relevant when one day he woke up in a pristine city on a strange island in the middle of the Atlantic, without any memories, surrounded by classmates who are barely more than characterless placeholders, and with a classic indecisive harem protagonist and his impossibly beautiful love interests for friends. That would be hard to deal with already, yet his investigation into the tropes governing the world, trying to avoid harem shenanigans, and his odd blend of outside-context knowledge, unique abilities, and a penchant for causing trouble wherever he goes ends up dragging him into the center of the action anyway. Disclaimer: This is a tongue-in-cheek, slice of life romantic comedy, with occasional sprinkles of combat and mystery to spice things up. Please do not expect a straight up deconstruction beyond some in-universe meta-commentary by the characters.
