Omni-Mastery Chapter 288

'The whole pile of bodies disappeared…?'
Scanning through the battle scene that I was pretty sure of it being full of dead bodies, only left me astonished as I didn't really know what to say, it made it look like the battle didn't take place at all…
'Could it be that the corpses were used as some sort of a sacrifice to complete the 'Bloodline Burning Curse'...'
Remembering how the corpse of the Shaman turned into smithereens and disappeared after he stabbed himself with that dark dagger, it only made sense that the 'Cleaning' of the whole scene must be something associated with the curse's price or maybe a side effect of it.
'What about the trio…'
Taking a long look back at the location I left the three tied humans before I headed off to confront the demon army, I actually found them still in the same place…
'They didn't wake up after more than 3 days…?'
Dashing towards the spot, I started inspecting their bodies to make sure they weren't simply dead…
'It's faint… But they are breathing…'
The result of the inspection was as simple as it could be, the way their bodies functioned at this point was the same way one would do when sleeping, that would have been a normal occurrence any other day and no one would doubt something was wrong, unless… He knew that this has been their state for almost four days!
Could a normal person even sleep that much?
'Is it a hibernation of some sort…?'
It could be some sort of a reaction their bodies acted on due to having been brainwashed for a good while as their body rejected the thing that applied the mind confusion itself, or it could be…
'Why bother anyway, let's check the pinned subjects of mine, if they didn't escape during my sleep collapse then it would be easier to ask them how that thing operated…

Moving my head a bit to check as my perception was still somewhat drowsy due to everything that happened so far, I found the two demons were still pinned there, just like I left them also before heading for the battle with the demon army.
'Is this some sort of a deja vu…? Or am I still dreaming?'
Everything felt it has been reset to a certain point… Or, it was more like everything could be easily explained if you said that this current scene happened before my confrontation with the demon army…
However, that thought vanished from my head as I soon started to realize differences on the two demons once I inspected them closely…
The first one I looked at closely, being the retarded Overseer, he was in fact awake somehow, but he looked like he was half dead, the strange thing about him was that I could see purple glass fragments inside the crystal-like ice encasement he was currently in, which didn't really help much…
"Hey, Are you still alive?"
"hah… hah…"
'He seemed to be completely useless at this point…'
I had originally inflicted that much damage on him as I expected to come back soon within 1 day, yet thanks to the unexpected gift that the Shaman left me, I wasn't able to realize that target, so it seemed like 4 days of enduring all of that under ice might have been too much on this wimpy Overseer, not to mention that there seemed to be something else that influenced him…
Leaving him aside for now, I looked at the buff demon who was facing the ground who I was the most worried about him running once the weakening effect that the Overseer had applied on him disappeared but luckily he seemed to be still in place, though he also looked like he was in a very bad state, but at least it wasn't as bad as the Overseer's…

"Hey… you…"
Calling out to him, I tried to shake him a bit to make sure he was still sane with hope that he wouldn't have turned into a vegetable like the Overseer seemed to…
Yet, just as I shaked him, I felt like I was touching something detached… as something slid off my hand… it was actually a gross piece of purple skin attached to some purple muscle tissues…
'Huh?'
Even after I withdrew my hand, as if it was some sort of a chain reaction that couldn't be stopped since it already started, the buff demon's body looked as if it was legitimately shedding…
His horns fell off, his skin and muscles melted away as if they were just a suit instead of his real body tissues, only to reveal a slightly copperish skin of a…
'A human…?'
The body of a human youth appeared under the pile of purple bloody tissues of muscles and skin, this human was so small that the icicles that I used to pin the buff demon's limbs to the ground hadn't even reached his body, this whole strange happening kind of reminded me of the scene of a caterpillar that metamorphosed to a butterfly…
'Could he have possibly been a human seed that managed to succeed in full demonification…?'
There was no possible way that any normal demon could spout out a human body after being shaken a little bit, but just to make sure, I tried doing the same to the Overseer but the result was that nothing happened as expected.
"Cough… cough…"
The sprout human that just slid out from the place the icicles were pinned thanks to the slimy blood let out a few coughs as he seemed like he just came to…
"What just happened… Where's Nia… Oh… wait… Right… that was just another dream…" as the sprout human opened his eyes he started to mutter a few incomprehensible words mixed with normal words as it looked like he was very used to this happening, but that was probably only because he didn't look at himself in the mirror…
"Ahem… Excuse me…?"
"Eh… Woah… What happened…?!"

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)

Fire and Shadows. Legend of the breaker. (Hiatus until ??)
Traditions lost, books burned, ancient knowledge forever spurned. It began with fire, the great Sirionean, all dominating desert creating pyre. And it ended thusly just aswell, t'was the great Empire's deathknell. The crackling of the burning books, dangling corpses on rusty hooks. The yellow streets of Heabury proper, colored red with human copper. -? S.V, Scholar of Dawn.' -- Author note: Hi, SeV here. I'm not a fan of writing my entire story premise in the synopsis. For that, read the prologue and chapter 1. Suffice it to say that I think it's a cool idea and I already have a few things planned and a world sort of formed in my mind. I like Epic fantasy, lightnovels with OP MCs, Litrpg, sci-fi, any many other things. This story is written for myself, so it may include all sorts of diffent elements and character interactions and even experimental things that I'm trying out as a writer in order to improve. My intention with this is to pretty much post as I write, and acquire feedback from you folks in the process. I of course hope you like my story, but feel free to criticize anything since this is a project to improve myself. Even if it isn't strictly criticism, any feedback positive or negative is welcome since I am interested in what other people think of my writing style and what I can improve on. Since it's growing generically I'll be interested in your thoughts and speculations on future events and any suggestions moving forward will be taken into consideration. Hope you enjoy my stuff. - SeV
