Omni-Mastery Chapter 100

"So, you are saying, we all got ambushed by another boss monster of similar strength to the first one, but as he had an advanced stealth art, he managed to knock us all down, but you withstood the ambush and protected us before slaying the second boss, right?"
Grace looked at me with a calm face, they were currently getting ready to leave the gate...
"In summary, yes, if you weren't taken by surprise, you would have easily done the same. Besides, I received such an injury which will require some time to heal... "
I didn't plan to reveal the true events that happened here for several reasons….
Firstly, the corrupted crystals were very dangerous depending on the hands they fell in, so such presence had to be concealed, taking into account that the association itself may not be clean of corruption, even in the sense of the political type of corruption if one was to refer to the case of Grace's family and the whole city being somewhat oppressed.
Although all the corrupted I have met so far had low intelligence, who knew if there higher ranked corrupted beings, who had the ability to harvest and distribute such endless batteries to their armies outside the gate, it did seem far fetched, but I shuddered just contemplating the thought.
Secondly, the double boss occurrence was already shocking enough, if two such accidents were reported, it would surely arouse suspicions.
And finally, if I were the one to survive and save the day after all these bizarre anomalies, wouldn't the cover that I applied to be as plain as possible be blown off? I might even end in a worse situation than the trio's, becoming a useful pawn that the association can easily manipulate…..
As such, I just made up some sort of believable story with the injury as a small evidence, no one would truly search for more info after receiving the report of the double boss appearance after all.

"I see, we owe you once more, let's get this cave raid done with so that we can get you healed up quickly."
Grace then moved to the Orb, putting her hand on it as she proceeded to transmit a thin layer of light elements over it. The dark active orb slightly dimmed as we all vanished from sight, ending up out of the gate.
This was the other form of gate clearing, and the most popular one, after all, not that much warriors had purification tools to purify the essence that comes out from the orb after its destruction, so this method was considered a waste that would only be used in the case of emergencies.
This method relied on either light or lightning elements to sever the connection of the orb, which would be then brought out, and sold to the association for a hefty price. As for the association, they had true purification tools so they didn't lose out on the benefits, gaining essence and spatial materials. This was a method devised by the association which later became popular as it brought mutual benefits for all parties.
Light and Lightning both had extreme effects on corrupted energy, thus being the only elements capable of such effect, precisely the reason why any elemental practitioner of these elements would be quite a popular party member and could easily join higher ranked parties.
It also didn't mean that not having such a practitioner would result in being forced to use the first method, the association would offer pseudo elemental tools capable of emitting the slightest amount of light elements, just enough to sever the connection, so other than higher ranked parties who either had purification tools or had a practitioner of these two elements, most parties resorted to this method as they would still gain profit after buying the tool and selling the orb forming a huge source of wealth to the association…..
This method was called 'Elemental severing'!

Long Shadow
No destiny, no choice, no hope. Our protagonist, a coward summoned to a world meant for heroes; a new world with new rules and old cruelties. Join him on his adventures as he must deal with menus, monsters, and mysteries in this litrpg fantasy. Thomas Goodwill was an average boy with an average life, all that changed when he woke up in a new reality. Now, out of his depth, damn near out of his mind, he must learn to survive in a game-like reality with no reloads, checkpoints, or save scumming. He does, however, have a drunk snake. Thank you for reading my first story, hopefully, the first of many to come. This will be my main story and is meant to help me practice and hone my skills as I slowly produce more complex ideas. It's a litrpg in which I want to only lightly focus on the mechanics as I don’t want to pad out the word count with math and number tables and while I want to add a few of my own twists here and there, overall I’m going to keep this story close to generic as possible so that I don't let my inexperience lead me into a corner. Thanks again to all willing to leave a review or some constructive criticism, without you I'd never improve. Unfortunately, Cover art is by me.

Reincarnated As A Benevolent Tyrant
NOTICE: This story is under rewrite. New novel has been published. Search **RE: Tyranny** in Royalroad for the new novel.Link- Re: Tyranny Thank You! ------------------------ "Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory." What a brilliant line, isn't it? James was a boy who had nothing to worry about. A happy family, a nice childhood. What's more to ask? But one day, everything changed. He lost everything in the blink of an eye. The only thing left for him were the memories and dreams of the past. Trying to cope up with the loss, he cut all ties with the outside world and became a shut-in, having no one left to call his own or to rely upon. There was nothing left for him in this world, but still he lived and soon found a purpose in his life, which lead him to create something that could change the world. And on the very day when his dream project was about to come to the light, he lost his life, trying to save a little girl from an unfortunate accident. "Will I ever be remembered...? I wish... someone would." These were the last word James mumbled before his conscious faded into darkness. But his life didn't end there, as he is transmigrated into the body of an arrogant, worthless Duke's son in some unknown land with no memories about who is or any idea about where he is. In an era of political turmoil and civil strife, the Duke's son is forced to prove his worth for inheriting the title. Will he be able to accept the new reality and prove himself by leading this country into a prosperous future? Or will he cease to the pressure of his past and lose everything once more? Disclaimer: This is not a power-fantasy or a 'feel-good' story. If you feel a protagonist should never lack agency (especially in early story) or make compromises because of difficult circumstances, then this fiction is probably not for you. It is a story that delves deep into real world sociological/psychological subjects and explores many topics of gray morality. I wrote it because I like stories that make me think more about the world around us, not to detach myself from reality. Some aspects you can expect based on the tags include:- [Kingdom Building]: political drama, geopolitical/geoeconomic strategy- [Army Building]: massive battles featuring in-depth planning, combined arms, and operational logistics- [Identity Crisis]: someone translated into a whole different world having to rebuild their identity and life aims The story starts off slowly, more like a slice of life than action-adventure, but I guarantee you it will get there. For those who want to skip the slow part, start from Chapter - 35 (Beginning of The End) (The whole Disclaimer section is copied from Aorii as I am too busy writing the complete story.) And yes, just for General Knowledge, James will become OP throughout the story. He is not some legendary guy who will pull out Excalibur & conquer the entire world. Update Schedule - One chapter a day. This novel is also available on Scribble Hub. And again, I humbly thank you for reading it. I hope you stick throughout the journey.
