Omni-Mastery Chapter 9
Advertisement
Even though I was already expecting something amazing just from the description, I didn't think that it would be that outrageous, the ability of 'Omni-Mastery' to allow the gain of skills though fixed repetition was indeed a bit too much of a cheat…
However, considering that there were nine others with an ability that should be on par with it, even possibly giving immediate strength gains meant that I couldn't let my guard down. After all, as rule-breaking as 'Omni-Mastery' was, it would only grant me benefits through effort all the same.
As such, I obviously didn't plan to slack at all since I was given the chance to take advantage of my intelligence and photographic memory and turn them into true comprehensive combat strength!
Naturally, before I could start to comb through the skills that I could learn with the help of 'Omni-Mastery' and choose the most suitable ones for my situation, I still had to fix the deficit of my incomparably weak body so that I would be able to handle the required training...
Thus, I began my physical training plan starting today!

[ Daily Quests:
1. Do 123 push ups {123/123}
2. Run 0.96 km {950m/960m} ]
Looking at the daily quest tab which indicated that I was a few steps away from completion, I was slightly delighted as I marched forward!
[ Daily Quests completed! ]
[ Strength +1 -> Strength: 6! ]
[ Constitution +1 -> constitution: 8! ]
[ Agility +2 -> Agility: 9! ]
The moment I received the notifs indicating completion, my body felt like it was suddenly injected by a life elixir as my fatigue was mostly washed away…
Obviously, this was the effect of the stat increment which had taken place under both the effect of my training and the help of the system's quest completion reward.

It has been already a week since I started my physical training using my knowledge in this regard coupled with what I learned here, all while not forgetting to prioritize the daily quests that seemed somehow random yet more effective.
Thanks to that, I had finally reached to taste the feeling of growth and progress as the training proceeded, the feeling which I could never even 'smell' in the real world, yet it felt so real inside this game, especially that the training results were incomparably almost ten times as effective!
Not to mention the result of daily quest completion which would amplify that even more as it seemed like a newbie booster, even normal training was vastly different.
Nonetheless, as stated within some of the books that were within my new house's library, that was actually nothing but the norm in this world, this growth rate was considered nothing unusual.
Of course, the daily quests played the biggest role in this week's outstanding results, specifically at kickstarting the training, though it was starting to lose effect by now since my body was no longer the same...
"That feels refreshing!"
As I took a quick 'primeval' shower using the cool water that I brought back from the lake on my way back, I already felt like I was back in tip-top condition.
'Time for food…'
Though the magical effects of training had already started to recede and the progress was likely to go down from now on, I still planned to continue training for one more week till I reach a more solid limit before planning my next step...
Putting that aside for now, I fixed myself a decent meal with the proper nutritional proportions which ended up being quite decent in taste as well, at least compared to the weird food I used to have in reality...

Although I still had a lot to do before the timer reaches 00:00:00, that didn't mean I couldn't simply relax and have a fulfilling meal after getting a good day's results!

[ Daily Quests Completed! ]
[ Strength +1! ]
As another week had passed, I was able to confirm that I had already hit the wall I was waiting for as my growth had stumped quite a bit, nonetheless, it didn't feel disappointing in the least as I could no longer recognize the state of weakness that my body was in just two weeks ago.
Moreover, just taking a look at my status panel was more than enough to make me recognize the amount of growth I had, which naturally gave me quite a bit of satisfaction!

Best of all, now that doing nothing but pure physical training could count as a waste of time for me, I could finally start utilizing 'Omni-Mastery' to try and finally the empty tab that sorely stood out in the middle of my status panel.
At long last, it was time to start my long-awaited skill training!

Lone: The Wanderer [Dropped Version (includes original draft of the rewrite's first volume)]
Nine-to-five. The daily grind. Life. Painful years of school. Working as a slave for some undeserving corporate big-wig. The monotonous life of unemployment. We all experience this in one way or another, and we can all conclude one thing: it's dull. Such a fact rings true even for the fabled Lone Immortus, a powerful nine-tailed Golden Foxkin. However, what would you do if your monotony was suddenly ground to a halt and you were thrown out of your comfort zone along with a young girl forgotten by time? Perhaps you might have done things differently, been more organised, immediately died, gained control of the world in a matter of days, but this is Lone's tale, not yours. Watching two insecure people struggle to survive and find their place in an unfamiliar land just might be enjoyable to witness. Who knows? One thing's for certain: it won't be an easy path for them to tread, and what could possibly be more entertaining than watching people endure hardships and grow? I know of at least eight gods that would answer with, 'Absolutely nothing.' I wonder, after seeing this journey from start to finish, how would you answer? [Goal of 2 chapters per week, the only exceptions being announced breaks or emergencies] A/N: This story is in the middle of a rewrite, so please forgive any noticeable plot holes and wonky chapter numbers. A note from the Author: PLEASE leave a review and alert me of any plot holes, weak portions, and anything else. I am in desperate need of beta readers and feedback. I wrote this around the new year, 2020. It's about 40k words and the first in a planned series that follows Gar "Alany" Darron and his agency of detectives as they track missing persons in the city of Throne. I have the sequel planned but not written. Once this one is completely uploaded, I'll be uploading another, unrelated series that as of right now is roughly 160k words long, and somewhere in there, I'll write the sequel to Frame of Mind. I plan to go back and forth between the two series for the foreseeable future. Thanks for reading.
