"Can I go through here? I want to find the rescue team. I need help."

"I did. I ran them over with my car," Li Ran answered honestly.

"Are there any wounds on your body?"

"No."

"Come in. We will do a check-up on you."

The woman pointed her gun towards an entrance. There were barricades around it, meaning that Li Ran would need to jump over them.

Li Ran paused for a moment. She looked at the height of the barricades and said with a bitter smile, "It might not be possible for me. I'm pregnant."

"I will get rid of a couple of bags."

The woman walked towards the bags and put her gun down. She carried one bag in each hand and threw them aside.

Then, she picked up her gun again and raised her hand, indicating for Li Ran to come over.

Li Ran was extremely tense after seeing the gun.

She could die at any given second and might not even have time to enter the space.

"Don't be afraid. We just need to do a check-up. If there's no problem, we will let you go."

The woman comforted her softly.

"Okay."

Li Ran followed her into the entrance.

The place she entered was relatively large. It was like a factory. Many things were stored. There were also quite a number of people. They seemed busy.

Some of them were carrying food and drinks while others were cleaning up. Li Ran could also see a few people fiddling with pistols, although she was not sure if they were just gun models or the real thing.

"I'm leaving. I'm not staying here," Li Ran said as she walked past him.

Unfortunately, she could not leave just because she wanted to.

"After what you've done, what's there to reconsider?"

Li Ran sneered at him.

She was not persuaded at all.

"You don't believe me?"

"No."

Li Ran said coldly but Cui Chong suddenly laughed instead.

Losing her patience, Li Ran tried to leave again but Cui Chong grabbed her arms.

"Do you know why I didn't save you?"

"I'm not interested in your explanation."

Cui Chong ignored her and said, "It was because you're not my woman. If you follow me this time, I'll give you a hand. I guarantee that you will not have to worry about food and water anymore. Plus, you won't have to work."
