The tall man was Li Ran's husband!

The man with the glasses was Fang Lin. He was the head of the army and an old friend of Lin Nan.

As Lin Nan drove away, he looked out of the car's window. The fat man was just standing there, looking dejected. The whip in his hand had long fallen to the ground. He looked very pitiful.

Lin Nan pursed his lips and said, "We can't just leave him to die, can we?"

Li Hui took another look at the fat man as well. She rubbed some dust off her face and said, "He still has a lot of food. He won't die. There's also barely any zombies or humans in this area."

She was actually half-lying.

The fat man does not have much food left at all.

As far as she knew, there were only two cars that had passed by this road.1

If they had let him tagged along, he would have killed everyone and taken everything that was valuable. After all, more people meant more mouths to feed. That fat man would never share anything with anyone if he could help it!

Lin Nan took out a bag that contained some bread and water. He then handed it to Li Hui.

She nodded and said softly, "Thank you for saving me."

Li Hui opened the bag and instantly drank a mouthful of water. Then, she took a small bite out of the bread and chewed slowly. Finally, she answered Fang Lin's question, "Food is so precious. He would never willingly share it with me..."

"Tsk, what a horrible man."

"But it's understandable," Li Hui said casually.

Lin Nan looked at Li Hui through the rearview mirror. He comprehended what she was saying.

'What the fat man did was understandable, but unforgivable.'

Lin Nan stopped and got out of the car.
