Apocalypse: Living With A Cute Baby Chapter 6

After she was done reading, Li Ran felt a sense of accomplishment.
It was still early. She was not sleepy yet.
Li Ran thought about the small iron ball and it instantly appeared on her hand.
"You really did appear once I thought about you. If only my husband was the same."
...
It was silent.
Li Ran smiled. She then thought about exploring the bizarre space.
She could not deny her curiosity.
Entering the space, she saw all the things that she had put into it so far.
She realized that what the system wanted her to do was no different from a nurturing game.
Li Ran walked towards a bag of fertilizer and seeds placed in the corner.
She wanted to plant the seeds.
There was a simple hoe but not much empty land around her. She measured the area with her legs. It was about 32'8 long and wide. A square shape. There were a total of eight plots of this size, and different seeds could be sown in different areas.
The system had explained that each type of seed needed different fertilizers.
After planting the seeds, Li Ran carried a bucket and went to the lake to get some water.
It was not possible to use her mineral water.
'How could the system require a pregnant woman to do such a job? The person who created this space is crazy.'
Her stomach was not that big yet, so it was not too inconvenient.
If this was An Ran, she would definitely have had a hard time.
[ Ding! The system had rewarded a wooden house. ]
Li Ran had just poured water on the seeds when the mechanical voice suddenly communicated with her. She was shocked.
A beautiful wooden house appeared in front of her.

'This wooden house came just at the right time.'
After thinking for a moment, she decided to put all her food and water into the wooden house.
Other than being made out of unsubstantial wood, this house had everything. The partitions of each room were quite obvious. There were marks on each of the door signs.
Bedroom.
Kitchen.
Storeroom.
However, all the rooms were empty.
Even the bathroom was empty!
Fortunately, she did not need to go...
After fertilizing the soil, Li Ran took a look at the system.
Today's mission was completed successfully.
Since she had nothing more to do, Li Ran exited the space.
...
Little did she know that, while she was busy moving back and forth between her home and the mysterious space, something was changing in the outside world.
He Xin had never thought that he would see such a day.
The modern city had been destroyed. It was as if they were back in ancient times.
"For the latest news, I believe that everyone can see how dangerous it is outside when you open your windows. We are unable to continue reporting on this situation. All reports end here."
The last news station ended their television segment.
An Ran held He Xin's hand tightly as they sat quietly in their room. Her body could not stop trembling.
"Hubby, what should we do?"
He Xin smiled bitterly, "We were fortunate to have met that kind woman. Otherwise, we probably would not have lasted until today."
"No one could have imagined that the flu would spread so quickly. The experts even advised us to stock up on food and water. Regrettably, most of us did not survive."
He Xin sighed.
"We will persevere. Someone's bound to see our message asking for help. I believe the government will come to assist us."

...
Suddenly, there was a loud knock on the door.
It interrupted their conversation and the both of them went silent.
There was a piercing sound of nails scratching the door.
He Xin looked outside through the peephole. It was actually their neighbor's door that had been knocked on.
The person continued scratching on the door.
He was terrified.
The person did not seem human.
An old granny then opened the door. Her eyes filled with tears.
She touched the face of the person who had lost control with her hands.
The person did not hesitate and instantly bit the old granny's hand. He bit it so hard that her hand was forcefully torn off. There was no mercy shown.
The old granny fell to the ground as she screamed in pain and despair.
He Xin could not bear to look anymore and moved away from the peephole.
Curious, An Ran was about to go and take a look herself. He Xin saw that and immediately rushed over to grab her arm.
"Don't look!"
An Ran pursed her lips. She sighed and said, "I have already seen more than enough on the internet."
"..."
"I heard the sound of a door opening. Did that old granny open her door?"
"..."
After a long while, He Xin nodded.
"That old granny was looking for her son. She's been trying to find out his whereabouts."
She still had water and food. As long as someone gave her any information, she would generously give them her supplies."
