As A Cardinal, I Don't Do Overtime Chapter 217

When the Orthodox Church's Holy Knights left, countless people were chasing at the back of them along the city walls of Sapphire City.
They only wanted to catch one more glimpse of those holy and brave Holy Knights.
"What a pity! They left right after they arrived."
"The legendary Pontiff Monn is indeed as handsome, elegant, noble, and holy as the legends in the Imperial City. It's just a pity that I haven't had a good look at the Pontiff Monn!"
"And Her Highness the Saintess and those Holy Knights. They are really as yearning as for the Orthodox Church!"
"I just want to take another look at that Pontiff Monn!"
"I heard that even the royal princess of the kingdom couldn't resist the charisma of Pontiff Monn. He's really too handsome! Pontiff Monn who leads tens of thousands of Holy Knights is simply too noble to look straight at!"
"I wonder when Pontiff Monn will come to our Sapphire City again. I only hope that he won't leave in a hurry the next time!"
"Really looking forward to it!"
...
Castellan Komuk and the others looked at the excited people who were chasing after the Holy Knights, they had black look on their faces.
"Even when the Golden Griffin Army of the kingdom came, I've never seen them so excited!"
"They are all low-level civilians. I can forgive them."
"There are many nobles among them! Viscount Luke, I saw your son running, crying, and chasing after those holy and noble Holy Knights just now."
Viscount Luke, "..."
"I'll break his legs when we get back!"
"That's a great idea!"
"..."
Castellan Komuk asked the president of Mercenary Union beside him, "President Zangger, where do you think Pontiff Monn is planning to take his Holy Knights to?"

The president replied, "There aren't any cities in our kingdom in that direction. There are only some small towns and the territories of the nobles."
Castellan Komuk said, "I believe that Pontiff Monn of the Orthodox Church will not harm our Sapphire City."
"Then..."
The president of the Mercenary Union said, "There is only one possibility. They will go to the Ash Mountain Range, the burial place of that ghost of the giant dragon!"
Castellan Komuk was puzzled. "What is His Holiness Pontiff Monn doing there? It seems that there isn't anything in the Ash Mountain Range that is worth the fight of the Orthodox Church."
The president of the Mage Union by the side suddenly smiled.
"I think Miss Vivian of the Bauhinia Chamber of Commerce should know His Holiness's purpose."
Suddenly, everyone turned their eyes to Vivian who did not follow the pontiff to the Ash Mountain Range.
Vivian said calmly, "Unfortunately, I don't know. Although I have had contact with Pontiff Monn of the Orthodox Church."
With that, she turned around and left with the people of the Bauhinia Chamber of Commerce.
Such a move was obviously not the etiquette of the nobles, and it was also disrespectful to the bigwigs present.
However, Castellan Komuk and the others were not angry.
Instead, they smiled bitterly.
It could not be helped. After all, Miss Vivian's father was a marquis with outstanding military achievements.
Castellan Komuk, who had the highest rank, was only a count. He had to bow respectfully when he saw the Marquis of Bauhinia.
...
Just as they were about to return to the city...
On the other side...
Monn was leading his Holy Knight Army towards the Ash Mountain Range.
Along the way, they passed by many small towns and the territories of the nobles.
However, no force dared to attack the Orthodox Church.

After all, everyone could clearly see the flag that was raised high in the front.
It was the divine religion that the Kingdom of Kate believed in.
It was the symbol of the Orthodox Church.
Just this flag alone was enough to frighten the gangster, thieves and rascals.
On the contrary, many humans appeared around them.
They looked at the Holy Knights from afar with shocked and amazed gazes.
Some even closed their eyes and made a praying gesture.
Their faces were pure and holy.
Monn and Ace were walking in front.
They accepted these gazes very calmly.
Even the Holy Knights didn't feel uncomfortable at all.
In the entire continent...
As long as the Orthodox Church appeared...
This kind of scene would inevitably appear.
So even if they felt uncomfortable...
After getting used to it, they would feel nothing.
As they had experienced this scene too frequent and they had to get used to it.
...
The Ash Mountain Range was a mountain range which continuously spanned nearly 100 kilometers.
One side was the territory of the Kingdom of Kate Kingdom, which was one of the three great kingdoms of mankind.
After passing through the Ash Mountain Range, further away was the savanna, which was ruled by the orcs.
Of course, with the area of the Ash Mountain Range, it was still far from crossing the border of the Kingdom of Kate.
It could only be said that the Ash Mountain Range was right between the Kingdom of Kate and the orcs.
Many years ago, the Ash Mountain Range was still the territory of the orcs.
Many orc tribes settled here.
Whenever there was a bumper harvest, the orcs of the Ash Mountain Range would form various cavalry and leave the Ash Mountain Range to plunder the food of the human world.
This was how the ferocious beast cavalry was born.
Until one day...
An adult dragon appeared here and burned everything in the Ash Mountain Range with blazing dragon flames. Whether it was the trees or the beast tribes in the mountains, they were all turned into ashes overnight.
The Beast Royal Court was very angry.
They sent a few golden behemoths to the Ash Mountain Range and finally killed the dragon.
However, from that moment onwards...
The Ash Mountain Range also fell silent.
Very few beasts appeared here.
Part of the reason was the existence of the dragon's breath, which caused the Ash Mountain Range to become barren, with bare rocks everywhere.
Without the dense forest blocking them, the Golden Griffin Knights from the Kingdom of Kate could easily kill them.
Another reason was that after the death of the giant dragon, the dragon's soul didn't return to the arms of the Dragon God. Instead, due to resentment, it became the immortal ghost of the giant dragon.
The ghost of the giant dragon shuttled through every corner of the Ash mountain Range.
This had made neither the beast clan nor the human mercenaries dare to set foot here easily.
...
But at this time...
Two people appeared in the Ash Mountain Range.
Their bodies were hidden under the black robes, and their faces couldn't be seen clearly.
But it could be told from their figures.
One of them was an old man, and the other was a petite woman.
In the old man's hand, he was holding a bone-made magic staff, and his entire body was emitting the aura of a dead spirit.
His steps were staggering, as if he was about to die.
The woman followed the old man's steps and was carefully supporting his arms.

Beast
A threat to the galaxy has come from another, and the Union of intelligent life will go to any length to stop it. Military Quarantine has held for hundreds of thousands of cycles. Traders, merchants, colonists, and Pirates live risky lives along the fringes as the politics from the inner systems fail to see the larger threats beyond their borders. A lone human finds himself far from home with no memories to how he arrived. A failing Trade vessel plays on a desperate gamble, while a malicious parasite searches for a suitable host. ............................................. Author's note: Beast is a story that I wrote a long, long time ago. Some of you might have read it then, back when it was posted on reddit over at r/HFY. It was my first webfiction and made in the spirit of that subreddit's "genre" of humanity being awesome. But, it is also a story that has bothered me a little bit. Just like most new writers tend to do, I made mistakes and errors that feel painful to reread. A Space Opera will be a Space Opera, but I had prose that makes present-me cringe. Still, at the same time, the story is still very much a tale I've never given up on. It was my first adventure into fiction: Beast was a crazy adventure with bodysnatching aliens, galactic war, threats from across the universe... Posting this story here is a way to try and redeem myself a bit. I won't call it a complete rewrite, because it's not, but I have wanted to go through and correct some of the major issues Beast has for a long time and put it somewhere more accessible to read (instead of as posts/comments on reddit) and I figure that now is as good a time as any. Additional corrections you might notice are welcome.

A spiraling doom awaits the world of Isulia. **************** I put the gore and traumatizing warnings not because my book is overly gory. However, there are a few moments that may be traumatizing to some people. As for the gore, it shows up fairly often but not extensively. I've always loved violence in movies and books, (The Boys, Banshee, Kingdom of heaven, Vikings, etc.) I am descriptive of the scenes with gore. So be warned :) I have multiple MC and as a nooby writer, I've had a harder time writing from a female POV. Just a heads up. Don't kill me if I make the woman in my book seem weird. After the Long Burn
After the longest exodus in human history, a terrible accident threatens to turn the salvation of humanity into its most desperate struggle for survival. From the ashes of calamity rises a new human story. A frustrated scientist dedicates her life to recreating the Earth in alien soil, while another is gunned down for his sin and sets off a chain of events culminating in a desperate escape across the void for an opportunity at redemption. Around a distant moon a deep space miner stumbles onto a secret, the key to which lies buried inside his own tortured mind. After the Long Burn is an anthology of short science fiction stories set in the distant Ionad System. Author's Note: I thought I might try something a little different with this story. Rather than one story, it is six stories of varying length, each taking a slightly different perspective to tell a larger story. Some are more actioney, others more cerebral but I hope there will be something for everyone. Stories over 7000 words, with the exception of the titular After the Long Burn, will be published in two parts. I anticipate an upload schedule of one part every other day.

Children of The Sky: Heartcore
In the realm of Yggdrasil, there exist nine worlds. Each and every world has unique stories to tell, but there was one that stood out--The Floating World of Speir. In the land of Speir, the impossible does not exist; this world has given birth to thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of tales, fables, and legends. The fight for the fate of the world is a common occurrence and the neverending stories of the people which reside in it were all, by itself, always unique and interesting. Now, after many aeons have passed, the world has changed. Not only the power of magic could shape reality, technology also has the ability to change the world with just a thought. And from the world where futuristic technology meets magic, I have chosen to tell you a story, a story picked from countless others. This is the story of a boy who recently entered the prestigious, and the most powerful academy in all of the nine worlds--Yggdrasil Academy, to fufill his dream. What is his dream, you might ask. Well, allow me to show you the life of Reynard Foxtale, one of The Children of The Sky. *Warning. For those who don't like lengthy explanations or long talks, this might not suit your taste. However, the setting of my story does not adhere to most of the main stream fantasy/sci-fi settings. So, you might find my ideas unique or a little too weird and complicated or both. Whatever opinions you might have, I truly thank all of you who are willing to spend your time to read my story. *The cover (which is a picture I do not own) is not in any way an accurate depiction of the world in the story. P/S I will post this story on FictionPress as well. P/P/S I'm relatively new to this website, so if I made any obvious (to regulars) mistakes, please tell me. P/P/P/S Will update every two weeks. *Important: In Hiatus for now. **13/7/2017 Update. Check chapter nine (and maybe ten) post-chapter note.
