As A Cardinal, I Don't Do Overtime Chapter 173

San Lorenzo.
Where the Orthodox Church was located.
At the entrance of the church.
The group of elves were leaning against the wall, somewhat out of breath.
It was a little strange to see them like that.
Monn stood in the church and looked at the elves who seemed to have just fought a great battle.
He frowned and could not help but ask, "What happened?"
Eiffel calmed down.
He looked at Pope Monn with a serious expression.
"We can't go back to the Elf Forest."
As soon as he said this, everyone was stunned.
Monn continued to look at him, knowing that he had not finished speaking.
Eiffel took another breath.
He continued, "From here to the entrance of the Elf Forest, countless night feline monsters suddenly appeared for some reason."
"Night feline monsters?"
Monn and the others were stunned for a moment. Then, they looked at each other and thought of the night feline monster, Sylvia, whom they had just captured yesterday.
Coincidence?
Monn did not think so.
He held his chin and seemed to be deep in thought.
It seemed that this matter was related to Sylvia.
When Eiffel saw their reaction, he could not help but ask, "Do you know anything about the situation?"
When Monn heard this, he explained, "Yesterday, there happened to be a night feline monster who came to work for the Orthodox Church."
Monn did not say that she was caught and dragged to the Orthodox Church. He only briefly explained Sylvia's specific arrangements.
Eiffel was deep in thought.
But he did not say anything. Since the night feline monster belonged to the Orthodox Church, then Pope Monn should be the one to resolve this matter.
Monn called over a Paladin and instructed him, "Go to the training ground and call Sylvia over."

The Paladin nodded lightly to show that he understood.
Soon, Sylvia walked over with light footsteps.
"Boss, is there something you need me for?"
In less than a day, the night feline demon Sylvia quickly adapted to her new role.
After half a day, Sylvia felt that it was great to work here.
She didn't need to be exposed to the sun or the wind to be able to take care of her food and lodging. It was much better than the days when she was on the run.
Although it was called work, there was actually no work that troubled her throughout the day.
In her opinion, it was equivalent to finding a place to support herself.
Monn looked at Sylvia's light-hearted appearance.
He immediately decided that he had to arrange some work for her, or else it would be too easy for her.
Of course, the most important thing now was to solve the problem of the night feline monsters in the outer area of the Elf Forest.
Monn saw her coming over and asked, "The outer area of the Elf Forest is surrounded by a group of night feline monsters. Do you know what's going on?"
Sylvia, who had a very relaxed expression just a moment ago, was instantly rooted to the spot.
Her soft body also became very stiff.
She felt a little weak in her heart.
She looked at Monn evasively.
Although her gaze was very quick, of course, it did not escape Monn's eyes.
Monn instantly knew what was going on.
This matter definitely had something to do with her.
Thus, Monn quietly looked at her.
Although he did not speak, it still brought great pressure to Sylvia.
Sylvia wiped the sweat from her eyes and quickly dodged, her feet lightly rubbing against her shoes.

Her fingers were tightly intertwined, and she did not know what to say.
Until Monn coughed.
Sylvia was immediately frightened.
Sylvia remembered the fear of being dominated by Monn yesterday.
She immediately blurted out.
"It wasn't me!"
After saying this, Sylvia immediately regretted it.
She had basically told them that she knew something.
But since she had already said it, it was impossible for her to take it back.
When Monn heard Sylvia's words, he was unmoved.
Sylvia knew something.
Although Monn didn't say anything, his gaze on Sylvia became sharper and sharper.
Cold sweat broke out on Sylvia's forehead.
She gritted her teeth, her heart was finally unable to bear the pressure.
She said fiercely, "They are probably here to catch me."
After saying this, Sylvia seemed to be deflated.
She knew that when she said this, they would most likely hand her over to the night feline monsters.
Only then would the night feline monsters leave.
She had been filled with hope for her future, but now it was over.
This huge difference made her very uneasy.
She almost couldn't hold back her tears.
Hearing the explanation, Monn frowned and continued to ask, "Why are the night feline monsters chasing you? Aren't you of their race?"
Since she had already said it, Sylvia was no longer afraid to say anything.
She simply said it all.
Her face was filled with self-mockery.
She said, "Why are they chasing me? It's probably because I'm the only one who isn't affected by the darkness."
"Darkness?"
Everyone was shocked when they heard these two words.
They didn't understand what they meant.
Sylvia didn't give them a chance to ask questions.
She said, "There are a bunch of evil guys. They invaded our home and even polluted my clansmen. I managed to escape with great difficulty, but I'm still being chased by my clansmen."
At this point, Sylvia's mood became worse.
However, when Monn and the others heard these words, they were shocked.
Darkness? Pollution?
This was the first time they had heard these two words.
They did not understand their meaning.
However, after listening to Sylvia's explanation, they could understand it.
Sylvia's people were invaded by something called the darkness and polluted.
They didn't know the extent of it, but they thought that they were crazy.
After all, they were already capturing the members of the night feline monster clan.
They probably didn't have any consciousness.
This explosive news made Monn serious.
"We have to find out more about this."
Monn said seriously.
Ace and the others nodded solemnly.
The elves were the most worried.
Because according to Sylvia,
The darkness that could pollute others was in the land of the night feline monsters in the Elf Forest.
The elves would definitely be the first to bear the brunt.
They had to inform Her Majesty, the Elf Queen as soon as possible about this unusual matter.
But the problem now was that they couldn't even enter the Elf Forest.
They were all surrounded by the night feline monsters.
They could not enter at all.
They had no idea what to do.
They could only look at Pope Monn, hoping that he could think of a way.
Monn pondered for a moment.
It still depended on how many of them there were.
It should not be difficult for him to bring the Holy Knights to attack.
At this moment, they suddenly heard the dispirited voice of Sylvia.
"Hand me over to the crazy night feline monsters so that you can go to the Elf Forest."

In Pursuit of Bark's Finest
On the frontiers of transhumanity’s expansion into the galaxy thousands of light years from the light of Sol, things can get rather chaotic. There are countless millions of nascent interstellar nations securing their interests, pirate ships prospering off plunder and deniable mercenary work, dissidents setting up their own civilizations, and other groups all trying to push an agenda. When these groups crash into each other, the results can become extremely messy and convoluted. Recently, a frontier nation calling itself the Red Star Union has found itself at the focal point of one such complication. A freighter under their protection has been sabotaged, hijacked in interstellar space, and robbed of its cargo. This would be bad enough even if all it were carrying was luxury goods, but the freighter Nebula Plow was carrying more than just normal trade goods. Indeed, her cargo of Non-Orientable Wormholes for use in starship power plants was both very expensive and very, very dangerous. Now the Red Star Union has to worry about a pirate crew running around with several extra devices capable of converting matter into antimatter with negligible energy cost. With those, the pirates could be capable of inflicting untold damage if allowed to leverage their ill-gotten gains into a stronger position, a possibility the Union finds completely intolerable. Unfortunately, all that the Red Star Union has to go on for evidence is two names; that of the captain, and that of the ship. The Captain is going by the possible pseudonym of Fuller, while the ship is named Bark’s Finest. And thus the orders came down to the Union’s Bureau of Starforce Intelligence: find more information on these pirates, conclusively identify them, and figure out where exactly they’ve gone to ground so that the fleet can crush them before they get established. Of the many agents that the bureau assigned to this mission, one would happen to play an important role: Field Agent Madeline Zargosty. This is her story.
