As A Cardinal, I Don't Do Overtime Chapter 119

Preston.
The dividing line between the werewolves and the humans.
Monn stood in the middle of the crowd.
He was surrounded by the Paladins.
Monn suddenly felt like a monkey in a zoo.
He shook his head and threw the idea out of his mind.
Seeing the Paladins so enthusiastic, and having an instinct that Elendil did something last night,
Monn knew that something must have happened last night, and it had been perfectly resolved by Elendil.
Otherwise, the Holy Knights would not have behaved like this.
But Monn did not know much about what exactly had happened.
So he asked, "Did something happen last night?"
Many of the Holy Knights immediately looked excited. They all wanted to report the battle situation yesterday, to Monn.
All of them opened their mouths and wanted to report.
At this moment, Elton frowned and raised his hand to stop them.
If they all said it, wouldn't this place become a vegetable market?
In order to prevent this from happening, Elton cleared his throat and began to tell Monn what happened last night.
Although he was also a Paladin, this didn't stop him from expressing it vividly.
After hearing Elton's description, Monn nodded in understanding.
Ace was a little surprised. She did not expect so many things to happen last night.
Elton saw that Cardinal Monn and the Saintess understood what had happened yesterday, so he said worriedly, "The werewolves were injured yesterday. I'm afraid they won't let it go."
Ace heard this and said proudly, "Even if the werewolves want to fight, after facing Monn's flames, they can only run away."
Elton shook his head, he smiled bitterly and said, "I also know that the flames of Cardinal Monn are very strong. After all, what happened last night has already proven the power of Cardinal Monn. But we can't always hide in the flames of Cardinal Monn and not go out, right?"

When Ace heard this, she was stunned for a moment. Then, she frowned and did not know what to do.
They couldn't stay here forever.
Because they had to take back part of Preston that was occupied by the werewolves.
And they had to beat the werewolves back.
But with their current strength, it was impossible for them to do that.
Once they left the fire barrier of Monn, they would definitely be entangled by the werewolves.
And now, there were more werewolves.
At night, they would be strengthened by the moonlight, which would be very disadvantageous for the humans.
This situation gave Ace a headache. She could not help but look at Monn, hoping that Monn had a solution.
Monn listened to Pope Elton and Ace's discussion.
His eyes indeed swept over the other Paladins and the soldiers of the kingdom.
Considering the information he received, Monn made a deduction.
The werewolves still had an army of 110,000.
And the human side only had 70,000.
Including the 20,000 Paladins who were still on their way from Saint Servant, it was only 90,000.
Since the quantity could not compare, he could only find a gap in the quality.
The quality of the werewolves was basically the same as of the humans.
Grey Iron, Mithril, Black Gold Ranks, and so on were all uneven.
As for high-end combat strength...
The Amethyst rank wasn't too clear.
But there were three humans of Holy Rank.
One was Pope Elton, of Intermediate-Level Holy Rank.
Ace also just happened to break through to Intermediate-Level Holy Rank today.
The last one was Monn himself, of Pinnacle Holy Rank.
As for the werewolves, there were only two.
One was a general.
He had the strength of Advanced-Level Holy Rank.
The other was his deputy, who had the strength of an Intermediate-Level Holy Rank.

Compared to the previous Saint Servant battlefield, the werewolves' high-end combat strength was slightly weaker.
Therefore, when comparing high-end combat strength, Monn was not too worried.
However, it was not likely to be a decapitation operation like Saint Servants.
Not to mention that Preston did not have a person of high enough status.
For example, the death of the wolf general in Saint Servant would be a wake-up call to the werewolves.
And they would not want to make a second mistake.
Therefore, this war could only be a frontal breakthrough.
Speaking of quality...
During the day, humans and werewolves were almost equal in strength.
But there was a disadvantage in numbers.
Not to mention at night.
Werewolves would have the moonlight bonus.
It would have been impossible to defeat them.
In that case, there was another option.
Humans could only attack during the day.
At the same time, Monn also thought of a way for humans to surpass werewolves in quality.
Perhaps they could even win with less.
Thinking of this, Monn took out the Angel's Horn from his red robe.
The moment the Angel's Horn appeared,
All the Orthodox Church members suddenly fell silent.
As if attracted by something, they all looked at Monn.
To be more precise, they looked at the Angel's Horn in Monn's hand.
"God... The aura of an Angel?"
Elton stared blankly at the horn in Monn's hand.
On it, he felt a trace of the aura of an Angel.
This discovery made him involuntarily swallow his saliva.
He looked at Monn with respect.
Could Monn be the chosen one?
Elton thought in shock.
No wonder His Holiness, the Pope was so lenient towards Cardinal Monn.
Could it be that he already knew about all these?
In addition, Cardinal Monn was very powerful.
The more he thought about it, the more shocked Elton became. He even felt that his guess was definitely the truth.
He could not help but look more respectful. Monn seemed like an Angel who had descended to the human world!
Ace also felt the aura of an Angel on the horn in Monn's hand.
But unlike Elton's guess,
Ace thought that the horn was sent by Monn's friend in heaven along with the Holy Maiden Fruits.
This made her more certain that Monn's friend who they were talking about was an angel.
But a question did come to her mind again.
Why did Monn have an Angel friend?
Although the other Holy Knights did not sense the aura of the angel from Pope Elton and Her Highness, the Saintess, of Holy Ranking.
Their own faith made them involuntarily look at the horn.
There seemed to be an invisible divinity guiding them.
It made them very respectful.
"God... Cough!"
Elton, who had guessed that the Cardinal Monn might have been an angel who had descended to the mortal world, almost blurted out the words 'Lord Angel'.
However, since Monn introduced himself as a cardinal, it proved that he did not want to expose himself as an Angel.
The witty Elton hurriedly coughed and forcefully swallowed what he wanted to say.
Then he asked with a little bit of caution, "Monn, May I know what this horn is?"

They have to become Professionals on their own and rejoin the Empire. They will figure out their new lives one way or another. But will there be an Empire waiting for them when the Gates re-open? Caught in a clash of empires and high tiers, they will do what little they can. They will step up and do their best. One way or another. The Infinite Labyrinth is a slice-of-life litRPG adventure set in a real historical setting. It's a hard, crunchy litrpg. Expect blue boxes everywhere, and the system itself is very mathy. It started life as a serial. I prepared some proper worldbuilding, with enough details and background for lots of different potential story arcs, but as I wrote, I realized the main story needs to have a definitive end. So, there are four books in total, for a bit under 1500 pages, plus additional side stories, and even maybe a sequel one day. The Gore tag was added as a precaution because there are a few scenes with some light gore.
