As A Cardinal, I Don't Do Overtime Chapter 71

"Your Majesty King Kate, I represent St. Servant Church to discuss the werewolf attack."
Kate Kingdom, Royal Castle, in the main hall.
Cardinal Monn's calm voice rang out, breaking the silence in the main hall in an instant.
The members of the royal family, who were in a state of shock, were all startled.
Aldrich, who was thinking about how to rope the red-robed man into the kingdom, also turned around.
Only then did he remember that the red-robed cardinal had come to the royal family to discuss about the werewolf attack.
Moreover, given the red-robed man's strength, Aldrich didn't dare to slight him.
But as the ruler of a kingdom, he had the confidence.
There was no need to be too careful.
He raised his eyes to look at Monn, his eyes were as calm as still water.
The corners of his mouth were hung with a kind smile, but because he had been in a high position for a long time, his smile carried a trace of dignity.
"Welcome to the St. Servant capital, the Cardinal. Please tell me your name."
Hearing Aldrich's question, Monn calmly said, "Monn."
"So it's Cardinal Monn."
Aldrich nodded, then smiled and said, "Cardinal Monn, this is your first time coming to the royal family. Why don't you let my eldest daughter, Cheryl to take you around? The royal family is holding a banquet today. How about we talk while eating?"
Hearing King Aldrich's words, everyone in the hall was stunned.
Banquet?
Why didn't we know about it?
Everyone looked at each other, not knowing how to react.
However, since the king had already made such a decision, everyone would still act as there was really such thing.
But Monn raised his eyebrows and said calmly, "Five o'clock in the afternoon is my off-duty time. I don't accept any gathering that have a work nature."
Ah, this...
As if they didn't expect Monn to decline, the members of the royal family in the hall all had their mouths wide open, and their eyes filled with astonishment.

Immediately, some ministers wanted to come out and angrily rebuke Monn's attitude of looking down on the royal authority.
However, they were stopped by Aldrich who perceived that and waved his hand.
Aldrich was also stunned by Monn's rejection, but there was no anger in his heart after being rejected.
In his eyes, the strong usually had strange temper.
Since he was a strong person, what was wrong with him being generous as a king.
Maybe he would leave a good impression with this tolerant attitude towards him, and that might be a token to rope him in.
However, Monn's refusal still drove him a little bit crazy.
Aldrich planned to take advantage of the dinner banquet to have a good chat with Monn and see if there was a chance to rope him in.
In the end, he was rejected.
He still had to think of another way.
All the ideas went through his mind.
Suddenly, a brilliant idea went through his mind.
He continued to smile as if he was not a king at all, but more like a kind old man.
"Since that's the case, why don't we bring forward the time of the banquet? This is the first time that Cardinal Monn come here. No matter what, he has to experience the royal family's banquet."
Although Monn found it strange that Aldrich wanted him to stay in the royal family for some reason, there was no place for him to refuse this time.
Since the king had decided to discuss matters at the banquet, Monn would just listen to the arrangements.
"As long as it doesn't affect the time I get off work."
Monn said calmly.
Aldrich laughed a few times and waved his hand. "Alright, it's settled then. Matthew, the banquet will start at two in the afternoon. I'll leave this matter to you."
The old minister called Matthew stepped forward and gave a wry smile. "Yes, Your Majesty."

He had a wry smile in his heart.
The matter of the banquet had just been decided by the king, and the entire royal family had not prepare anything.
But they could not let others find it simple and crude.
Otherwise, it would leave others an impression that the royal family did not respect them at all.
This kind of mission did not only drive him crazy.
His hairs, which had not been much to begin with, was probably going to fall off a lot again.
Aldrich continued to instruct, "Cheryl, this is the first time that Cardinal Monn come to the royal family. Take him and the Saintess for a stroll!"
Cheryl took a step forward and gave a valiant salute.
Her silver-gray long hair fluttered in the wind.
The greenish-gray Monn did not hide the curiosity in his eyes as he sized up Cheryl.
Cheryl's clear voice rang out, "Yes, Father!"
As soon as she finished speaking, she walked with her tall and straight figure all the way to the front of Monn.
She revealed a bright smile. "Let's go, Monn and the Saintess. I'll show you around."
After saying that, she led the way and walked out of the door.
Monn didn't object and followed her.
Saintess Ace also followed.
Aldrich looked at the three disappearing figures and a smile suddenly appeared in his eyes. No one knew what he was thinking.
On the other side, seeing Monn was about to disappear.
The Prince Ivan's eyes flickered. He bowed to Aldrich and walked quickly in the direction where Monn had disappeared.
Aldrich saw this and he didn't stop him becausen he knew his eldest son's character, nor did he think that he would leave a bad impression on Monn.
He allowed him to look for Cardinal Monn.
Errol, who stood beside Aldrich's throne, opened his sharp eyes gently.
Endless sword energy filled his eyes.
He said softly, "You want to rope him in?"
He asked a question at any time, but Errol's tone was indeed very certain.
Aldrich did not have any intention of hiding it. He nodded and said, "I do want to rope him in. I just don't know if Cardinal Monn will be interested in a small place like the royal family."
It was as if he said it with a self-deprecating tone.
Errol did not respond. Instead, he said calmly, "Andrew will not let go."
"I know." Aldrich had long thought of such a situation. He continued, "I'm afraid your pope doesn't expect me to rope such a strong man in from the hands of the Orthodox Church."
Saying this, he paused for a moment, and his deep eyes flashed with a bright light.
Using a voice that only he could hear, he said, "But if it's not, how can you know that there's no chance?"
Although his voice was very soft, he knew that as someone as strong as Errol, would definitely be able to hear his mumbling.
Of course, Errol would be able to hear it.
However, he did not say anything else. Although he was Aldrich's teacher, he was only a kendo teacher.
Although he understood the thoughts of the emperor, he was not that proficient.
He could not accurately guess Aldrich's thoughts either.
Of course, he did not need to guess. He only needed to do his essential work well and protect the royal family. He did not care about anything else.
Although he thought that Aldrich had a slim chance of winning over Cardinal Monn.
But since he wanted to try, let him try.
What if he succeeded?
Maybe he could even disgust that old guy, Andrew.

Gods of Arkanoth
The hunter has been betrayed, left alone in the streets of a lugubrious district. Only one goal appears in his eyes: to avenge himself. In his quest to avenge himself, he'll encounter an enigmatic scientist who seems to hide his true nature, a savior pretending to be a God, and the terrible truth of those words, bringing him against something he'd never thought he'd have to affront. This is the odyssey of the hunter, in a quest to put a long overdue end to a war between two worlds. // What to expect:The beginning will surely be intriguing, most of what's happeing won't be directly explained, although there will be some hints about their true roles, but do not worry about some subjects never leaving that misty fog that is unanswered questions! The novel is divided in two parts, the first focusing on uncovering the well-hidden secrets the city of Arkanoth hides, be it concerning its making or its inhabitants. As for the second part, it will be an expedition into the unknown, we could, in a way, say the true start of the journey our three heroes will undertake! I won't say anything more about the second part or else I might tell you an important detail without realizing... As for magic, because yes, there is magic! Although you might not see the shadow of a spell in the first chapters, it will appear in later chapters and will be one of the main subjects of volume 2. There are three heroes, yes, but they will not appear directly. While the first two protagonists appear in quite the beginning, the third will take his time, taking some stroll in the Districts of Arkanoth while we focus on the story of the hunter. But that does not lessen his importance in the story a bit, trust me. What about these three heroes, you say? Well, they all have their own issues, from their character to their torments, and as the story progresses they will have to come clean with their past (character development is to be expected) and will find their reason for fighting, braving all odds. I draw my inspiration from mythology, more precisely Aztec mythology. I want to stay true to a certain extent about it and all the relations between the gods and their role, however I will still change some things to my liking, so do not expect for all of the mythology to be respected to the letter. Finally! I have to say English is a foreign langage for me, so I might not choose the best words or straight-up miswrite something, if it bothers your experience, just tell me in the comments and I'll look into it! It is also my first time writing a book, so some parts might seem sloppy, but I hope I will be able to improve throughout this journey so as to give the most enjoyable reading experience to you. // Who might enjoy this story: Firstly, if you like deep lore and stories in which past plays a big role, you will like how everything unravels to show the hidden truths of the world. However if you do not appreciate not instantly understanding what's happening or who - or even what - this person might be, then you might not appreciate the story. There will be disturbing and gore descriptions, so if you're sensitive, don't like reading about someone being beheaded and such, you should probably pass this one. There is strong langage, although I won't abuse it, I won't be lying saying no insults will appear. Finally, the heroes will not always win, they will sometime lose battles, be it important ones or unimportant, and they will, most of the time, not come out unscathed from those. // Time Schedule : once every two sundays at 7:pm Ps : feel free to tell me if something is bad, or feel wrong with the book, it really helps me. I've written till' chapter 4 (in my mother tongue, so I'll still have to translate), however I'll make some minor and major changes, thus it will take some time to post them. Schedule will probably not change after releasing chapter 4, so don't worry, it won't take even longer to post a chapter than it already is. Enjoy the ride :)
