Master Of Myths Chapter 149

"Anyone hurt?"
"Alphys was only slightly wounded"
"I meant them"
"Oh, they should be fine, at most their ears would be ringing for a while"
"Good, I trust nothing seemed off?"
"They won't suspect a thing Master"
She assured just before recalling a certain something still laying on their territory
"Right, they did leave behind a very heavy person who's unconscious right now, what does Master suppose we do about him"
"?"
What did she mean what should they do about it? Don't let it happen to begin with!
Noting the disapproving look in his eyes she explained how this came to be
"Oh, I see, his body must have been filled with liquid allowing the sound echo through it, it only means Jona's skill is getting better"
"So what do we do with him?"
"Well, wait for him to wake up, he'll roll away on his own"
He wasn't too concerned with what they thought, as long as they believed a strong monster to be living here and avoided the place then it didn't matter too much
"For now have Zero replace Nee in watching over the sleeping Imy, then bring the new thralls here for experimenting as well as paper to record the data"
"Yes Master"
Quickly following his arrangement three thralls were brought forward, this time being two men and one woman
'I guess Nee doesn't care too much for the intimacy'
This didn't seem odd knowing the woman's extreme taste
Beckoning a man he dripped some blood essence into his mouth before activating the purification skill, painful writhing followed with the man dropping to the ground, screaming for all that is dear as blood slowly started to spew from his orifices, eventually his eyes popped out and he fell still to the ground waking YuJu from his focused state as the connection with his blood drop was extinguished before he was fully done
Gazing down he saw the mess that came about and understood the severity of wrong purification
"Take note, purifications that use blood of higher entities like the Thunder Mammoth will instantly kill the subject if the body is not capable of handling the sudden increase in strength, the body cannot automatically regulate the amount of change it needs to slowly adapt"
That's all he got from taking this man's life, strangely none of the two vampires present seemed to mind for some odd reason, Mia calmly started writing the experiment entry while Nee had the second person go forth, shaking as they may be

Thus with curdling screams and flowing blood the experiments continued till the next night, stopping when Zero informed them of Imy's waking so that she chance upon this despairing sight only to continue the next morning when she was fast asleep or nowhere near the throne room
A week passed, then the second, and then more till it was due time for YuJu's actual reason for staying in the human territory
The day he decided to stop researching he had the bats carry all the papers to Subrina who would compile them into a book
"Zero, you will be in charge of guarding the place while we are gone"
Zero nodded briefly at him before returning to her tea party with Imy and the little bat who stuck along them since day one, the little girl seemed to have dragged her into children games after goring on he for the past month
"Uncle is leaving?"
Unlike the uninterested Zero Imy showed more reluctance to his departing figure, sure he was dull and usually quiet if it didn't concern serious questions but he was the one who saved her and the most human like person here, well, minus the moving skeletal fingers
"I have some work to do Imy"
"Are you coming back anytime soon?"
"Probably not, I'm going to go visit some of my friends after this and will take some time on the journey"
Imy pursed her tiny lips, agitated as the memory of her parents once leaving and never coming back, fearing that the same might happen to this uncle who was neither good nor evil
"Don't fret little one, I'm much stronger than you think, plus I'm just paying a visit to my friends, nothing major"
He assured, patting her head with his fleshly hand
"Mm, okay uncle"
"Now go back to your party, shouldn't keep your guests waiting"
"Oh! Miss ZeroI apologize for the waiting, allow George to pour you some tea"
Scurrying back into her seat she had the butler outfitted small bat carry the teapot over to Zero's cup and shakily pour her a drink, spilling more on the table than the cup
"Good riddance Goerge, please clean the mess"
Talking some sort of lady Imy held her own cup and took a sip of the milk tea with her pinky raised up
"...Lets go before this bat's outfit grows on Nee"
He commanded seeing the stars in her eyes as she watched the but waddle about with the tight suit, one George was enough for this den

Stepping out of the den they were greeted by Ika who supposedly stood in wait for Imy's parents, something YuJu wouldn't have her really waste time on knowing they were dead
Ika bowed and piggybacked the slow Nee before following along his lead as they started picking up pace, going from walking into fall on sprinting at a scary speed of a hundred kilometers per hour, rivaling the maximum speed of a cheetah in normal earth, and it wasn't even their limit
"What's our destination this time Master"
"An abandoned city a few thousand kilometers from here"
Mia raised a brow at the long distance, he was going to go to such lengths then there must be something important there, something way more important than a simple treasure
He did not provide further explanation however, not to seem mysterious about it but because he didn't want to share something that might ruin his plan
Thus speed away they did, going past one strange land after the other without making a stop, none bothered them either for they were stealthed beyond normal vision, and those who could catch on to their presence chose not to engage without reason, bar the few that mindlessly did only to be slaughtered on the spot
Even with this constant high speed and the lack of breaks it still took them almost a day
"Master, I think we crossed two countries in our run"
"Indeed my Lord, I now feel like the world is much smaller than it used to be"
Ika agreed, this small jog broadened her horizon to what their earth had become, alas she got it all wrong, the world wasn't smaller, it had only gotten much much bigger than she could even imagine
"Sister and mother are right, it felt like we were giants going for a jog, well, you looked like that at least, maybe I seemed more of a baby on her back haha"
Nee chipped in while finally putting her feet back on earth, running her sore chest from being squashed for an entire day
"So this is the place Master?"
Mia looked at the blackened land, steam rising from the cracked earth once called streets while scrapped structures of metal vaguely resembling cars slowly but surely melted under the great heat
"No, that heap of junk in the distance in our destination, we are just dropping Nee off a bit further"
"I won't be following you my Lord?"
"No, you have but one task on this mission, you are to stay in the distance and cast your Panic skill through a Whisper"
"Panic through Whisper? What does that even mean"
"It's simple, merely use your Whisper skill and cast panic through it, you will need to have a conductor whom you whisper through but I will be taking that role so it should be a problem that you know no one in the pile of junk"
"Umm, can I try it out now?"
"Sure, use hunger as your whisper"
"Hunger, okay, hunger, hunger…..Famish"
Growl…
"...."
Ika's face blushed and she wanted to dig herself into the ground from embarrassment at the traitor of a stomach she had, they saved her some face however and didn't turn to stare, only looking at Nee who seemed to quickly get the hang of it
"My Lord this is so handy! It's like a whole new skill! I could now change the feelings originating from the Panic into whatever I want"
Nee seemed excited, how could she not? Panic was an area type of skill that threw the victim's mind into disarray, now however she could use the might suggestive whisper into inducing whatever thoughts she wanted on a huge crowd, a marvelously dangerous skill
"There are some cons to it but I'll brief you about them later, for now just use me as the conductor and keep casting the skill over and over while staying hidden and distant, we will be off now"
Taking Mia and Ika with him he disappeared from Nee's gleeful eyes, ones that turned somber upon his departure
"Looks like the pit is an abyss, when will I see the bottom of this man"
She wondered, the stronger and more knowledge he was the stronger he could help her be, at the same time however he was just that much scarier to cross
"One day, I will pry your secrets out for my own benefit"
For now however she was merely a servant under his rule

Quantum Rip: Welcome to Ethos
A special day has come, a day that Earth has awaited for oh so long. The day where they are finally going to try and run the reactor. This had been long-awaited and everyone dropped off their kids with a hint of dread. Hoping that nothing would go wrong, we know it did. Since else there would not be a story. I won't go into too much detail, but only simply explain what happened. Due to some malfunctioning and incorrect assumptions, the reactor overproduced energy. Something which should have been impossible according to all the known knowledge of a really advanced Earth. I mean, they have even started colonizing planets. Have done countless simulations and even built test stations in space. Yet now, something had gone when they did the same on earth. Bizarre, right? This malfunctioning and imploding of the reactor caused a massive explosion due to the instability of space itself. This is also what allowed the story to exist, as our main characters were all transported. The method is not known, nor why they survived. We can say it is for the story, for now... They all now find themselves on Ethos, eating a mouthful of dirt as they struggled for breath. Some find their situation horrible, others find it relaxing and peaceful. Some see death, others see life. Despair and hope, madness and sanity on an edge. What has fate given you? Welcome to Ethos, a planet of magic.Welcome to Ethos, a planet orbiting an exotic star.Ethos wishes you luck in surviving. Maybe, just maybe... You can someday go back, or not. -----------------Release rate: 3 chapters(1200-1400 words) a week.
