Master Of Myths Chapter 96

"Aurascape"
The word was new to her, much like most of this world but she could get the gist of it
"So is it a place governed by some aura?"
"Not just a place, an entire dimension built with time and space aura's as the core"
"Something like that is possible?"
Shock was expected, this was an entire dimension they were walking about
"There are endless possibilities in this world, you've much to see yet so I would hold onto my surprise for when bigger things to come"
He suggested, though it came to him as a shock as well when he first heard of the secret dimension
"Is this why only the two of us can enter? Does it require one to possess an aura"
"Possessing it isn't enough, you must pass the test upon entering to be able to actually participate in this once in a century event"
"What kind of test?"
"Who knows, who cares, we're not taking it"
Allowing one of the new knives he had made to fall out his storage he explained to her what should be done
"Take this knife and slash at space after covering it with your aura, it should easily rip through the test ground and allow you entry"
She picks up the knife with an eye embedded into its hilt and examined it, but there seemed to be nothing special other than the unique aesthetics
"Don't worry about its functions, you'll know once you insert enough energy to use them"
Just as he finished speaking energy started pouring from the edges of this huge gate, a black light seeping from it into the crater crushing all rubble inside till not even dust remained
"Looks like its starting"
Standing up and dusting his clothes he proceeded to throw the bracelet taken from the beast into the circle, this turned the light from black to a dull grey

"Ladies first"
Ellis hesitated seeing him motion for her to enter but quickly made her mind up and jumped in
"Hmm, how sad, I was looking forwarded to spanking her into it"
He laminated, forgetting his maimed hands wouldn't allow it anyway, before jumping in himself
Everything spun around him in a dizzying manner, dizzying for others as it had no effect on the veteran mind whatsoever
'She's probably going to throw up though'
Almost all who experienced spatial travel for the first time would, him being of the few exceptions
His now light body started to feel heavier and heavier as the spinning world solidified, soon the scenery of an open field lay before him with the only noticeable thing about it being the weird figure standing in the middle
[Welco-] "Skip"
Before whatever this thing was said its first word he rudely interrupted, wielding the knife in his mouth and cutting at air
Scenery once more changed, this time without the minor hassle of the dizzying spinning as a new a vast land came to view, it was still in silence under the red sky, silence that lasted for a century awaiting the new challengers' disturbance
A couple of seconds passed before space fractured next to him as Elis stepped into the land as well, her face green after the horrid travelling method
"Why…"
She blamingly asked, her sentence unfished as whatever food she'd had was emptied onto the untouched earth
While she dealt with the after-effects he threw the knife high up in the air, alongside it three more such special knives, then kicked at them as hard as he could
'That should give them enough of a boost to cover the distance'
Thinking so he closed his eyes briefly before opening them once more, their whites now replaced with a scary dark colour
In the air the travelling knives started to glow with the same dark vibes, veins popping around the eyes at the hilt as their pupils swivelled around seemingly alive

Images were sent to his brain, the feedback of what the pupils saw, coupled with their ability to glide in the air allowed him to navigate the four weapons to where he liked
'That's the first one'
His target quickly came into sight, a small bunker standing alone in this barren wasteland
Three of the flying weapons continued in their path while one was brought down at the sturdy bunker's doors under his control, stabbing into the ground next to it lightly
The knife lay still there for a second, its eye, however, was anything but still as it madly shook seemingly on the verge of exploding
Ba-BOOM!
And that was exactly what happened, blowing up just like the spatial feather once did, this instantly warranted a reaction from the bunker which self-destructed sensing the invading space energy
The sound of it blowing up was heard loud and clear grabbing Ellis's attention as she looked in the direction which it came from in worry
"Enemies?"
She asked but heard no response promoting her to turn to the black eyes YuJu
"Master?!"
Worried about his condition she approached, no words were spoken from him yet again, controlling those knives required great attention causing her to get a little more worried but remain silence thereafter since from their connection she could sense he wasn't in any immediate danger
With her not bothering him he could remain focused, splitting two of the knives to a side each while one continued on forward
Quickly all of them approached a structure of their own, the two on the sides came to a small bunker similar to the one he blew up while the one moving in a straight line passed over a huge castle-like building
Baba-BoBoom!
Two loud explosions were heard from the east and west, if the first didn't warrant worry from the challengers coming into the dimension this made sure everyone was paying attention now
'The distance is a bit much'
Though he had some leeway with his focus no longer split there was still some difficulty controlling the knife from this range
Images coming into his brain got blurrier the further the knife went, thankfully he could spot a small bunker not too far away
'Come on'
Retaining focus he put everything into keeping the dagger under control, all until it finally stabbed into the ground close to the bunker like the others did, the result of this was the same as them too as a hard to hear boom reached Ellis's ears
Done with the easiest task he closed his eyes to reorient himself
"Master?"
Peeking at the worried redhead he gave a smirk, one that Ellis knew all too well
"Umm, are we about to fight?"
"Heh, you guessed it"
'I'm about to enter a losing battle aren't I'
Every time he smirked like that it meant the foe she was about to encounter was a tough nut to crack
"Try your absolute best, it's not going to be easy but keep in mind that I will be striking at opportune moments to provide a chance at quick victory"
'He's helping me and still smiles like that….just what am I up against'
With a nervous gulp she followed him as the two journeyed toward the big castle's direction, what surprise waited the two of them was something she wasn't happy to guess, and soon neither would he be

The Grey Realm, an Erebus Story.
Written by: Staugroan and The Inklets. Edited by: Claudia Adams. In the beginning there was a god, who watched over and made one world his own. Soon after the god grew restless, but happened to stumble on a small world filled with life. This world was named Erebus by its peoples; humanity. The god was so fascinated with this new world that he started to copy it back home, creating oceans, forests, deserts, and so forth. Then the god created life and eventually his favored creations who would be immortals and be the better of mankind in every way-the elves. So often the god had traveled to Erebus that the two worlds became linked by magic and their inhabitants could cross at will. Relations between the races flourished, and a great empire was born in the Grey Realm, home of the elves. But the god once again grew restless, and set loose great beasts that stood at the top of any food chain, the apex. At first the elves met the challenge and fought them head on. But mankind was not so lucky, they died in droves to push back even a single apex. Something had to be done. Elves and man worked together to begin sealing off the worlds to protect mankind, to limit the ways in and out to better fight the apex off and keep their fellows safe. The ritual had adverse effects the likes of which neither the elves nor man could predict; the sealing of the worlds started slow, but the magic had never been done before, and in their ignorance it spread to completely cut the two worlds off from one another. It ejected the apex, and other magical being back into the Grey Realm, saving Erebus. At first the elves were content, they would find a way back once the apex were dead and gone. But the seal had done more than keep Erebus locked away. The powersource of the seal was magic itself, from both worlds, and it consumed it all greedily. The elves, weakened without their magic, crumbled into ruin, and the apex were free to hunt the other races of the Grey Realm. Two-thousand years later a strange phenomena is occurring and magic is slowly returning to the Grey Realm, and tears open that allow passage to Erebus. Thu'lain and a few elves must make the journey to fallen kingdom of the elves Anosora, in the hopes of reclaiming what was once theirs. They must face their nemesis the apex, and survive not only the species that have turned against them, but a terrible being left behind by the god to kill even the apex. Uch'l'thein, the faceless terror.
