Master Of Myths Chapter 20

A peculiar scene was occurring inside the villa as the two new arrivals were being served tea and cake during the apocalypse, the maid whom they had never met was standing tactfully by the side, while the hound was happily munching on its own plate of meat
"Where are the original occupants?"
"Master, they died yesterday while I was lucky enough to escape the beasts"
"Hmm, that's convenient, we shall stay here till tomorrow, meanwhile you go cook us the meat of the boar we brought over"
The maid recalled the huge boar that was still at the entrance and broke in sweat, she didn't even know if she could drag it inside much less skin it to take the meat out
"Anput go help her"
Thankfully YuJu didn't make things hard for her and gave her a helping paw
"Thank you Master"
Anput and the maid walked out toward the entrance to get tonights meal
"Master, were staying here for a whole day?"
"Indeed we are, we need some rest"
Ellis nodded at his words, even though she was puzzled as to why they were wasting a whole day of exp grinding in this bonus time
As for asking him about his thoughts toward the maid? It never crossed her mind, after all, it was natural for those below to serve people such as her and her master, that's why she found the abnormal behavior of the maid pretty common
YuJu had also noticed this about her, him thinking like that was easy to understand but Ellis shifting her mindset like so was quite troublesome
'Must be the work of her class'
He thought as he pulled up her status

He noticed the slight natural increase in vitality and intelligence but he didn't mind it and focused on the class
'I knew she would be able to get it but I'm really glad she got it before she leveled to 26'
Every new class gave one extra AP and ten extra SP
'Heh, now that I think about it only Mia can use skill points, right? Makes me wonder what I can do with mine'
Skill Points, or SP, were gained every level, first only 10 of it but with each class the number increases by ten
YuJu's Master and its merged class skills all didn't have a proficiency, directly correlating toward the conditions of the skill instead
Anput didn't have skills, while Ellis only had the none-proficient skills, Battle Stance and the one she gained from her class

'Only one skill, somehow all the strong classes have few skills'
The swordsman class which anyone can gain with a little practice had five skills already and its advanced class had over ten skills, on the other hand, Aura Master which was a combination of the two classes, Aura Manifester and Aura Manipulator, only had a single skill to speak of
"Master?"
Ellis sounded from the side awaking him from his thoughts, he then noticed the maid was offering him some more tea
He nodded toward her and looked at Ellis, she seemed to want to ask him something
"Master, I seem to have gained a single skill after two classes combined? Is that normal"
He shook his head and laughed, he was just thinking about the same thing
"To answer your question you must first know the types of classes"
His words not only intrigued Ellis, but even the maid who was done pouring tea was also very interested in this, she started to clean the table slowly and put out new sweets in hopes she could stay long enough to understand the new change brought upon the world
YuJu noticed her actions but didn't mind, this was common info that would be spread after some time
"There are a total of three types of classes, each has its own merits and demerits but it all depends on the class itself in the end"
She nodded at his words, even if was another type like her class it was obvious that it's not gonna have the same strength just because they belong to the same genre
"First, is the most common type, the Advanceable Classes, those classes, like swordsman, archers, fire mages, healers, are all a mold that can have many shapes, depending on the actions and qualification of the holder, for example a swordsman might become a samurai, knight, bloodblade, or fencer, the class pool is so large I probably don't even remember all the first advancements of any single class"
The maid was surprised, but more intrigued by how he knew so much, while Ellis was shocked knowing the swordsman class could get so powerful, her Aura Master and its single skill now looked feeble in comparison
Knowing what she might be thinking he added onto the explanation a little
"But most of these classes are useless, especially ones made through the comprehension of lower entities, such as weapons which will have a very short road, while classes that are derived from the existence of concepts that had been there since the beginning of time such as fire and darkness have a much greater future, for they might be able to master those concepts themselves"

He sipped his tea and looked at the maid who was reluctantly finishing up and about to leave
"Pour me some more tea when I'm done"
He gave her an excuse to stay and listen, he quite liked her attitude, she was someone who could recognize opportunities and knew how to adapt very fast, evident by her servile attitude since the first moment she met them
She happily bowed and stood close by his side, waiting for him
"The second type of classes, are Combination Classes, they are by far the easiest way for instant extreme power, the result of two classes merging is usually a class that cant advance but holds tremendous power, as for how powerful it can be that would depend on the concepts and skills it has, but there are exceptions to this rule"
He took a sip of tea as he let the anticipation build in Ellis, knowing that he will explain her class that seemed to be an exception
"Some combination classes give slight power at the time of their merge but can continue to grow stronger, their speed in growth is much better than that of advanceable classes, and in the case of an Aura Master it belongs to these exceptions and its growth is unusually fast as well, the only downside is that its growth phase may be small or large depending on the concept of the Aura"
He finished his tea and allowed the maid to pour him some more, after which she stayed put next to him
"The last type is the Mergeable Classes, classes that can merge other classes into themselves and become stronger, these classes are the weakest of them all, first of all, you would end up with one class that is weaker than combination classes, and your skills would be fewer and less powerful than someone who has two advanced classes, it isn't even powerful enough to be called a jack of all trades, it's basically a waste to use two classes on"
Ellis seemed to be in deep thought after his explantation, her eyes seemed unfocused as she thought about the lengths her class would possibly take her, but her contemplation didn't last long as YuJu startled her with his next words
"My class happens to be a mergeable class"
The maid and Ellis blinked, thinking over his words in case they heard wrong, didn't he just say that it was the weakest of all types? How come he chose it with all this knowledge! No there must be some sort of trick to this, they thought
He naturally knew that they were intrigued but he smiled and dismissed the maid while he himself headed toward the bath for a shower, leaving the two unsatisfied and curious about his choice, alas they had no right to question him
'Better keep them on their toes'
He thought as he chuckled, liking the mysterious atmosphere he built around himself
He navigated through the halls as if he lived here his entire life and went straight toward the master bathroom, opening the door he found a large room housing a pool of water
He walked to the side and threw a few large chunks of wood into the fireplace that was responsible for heating the water, there was also an electric heating device in the pool but all the electronics were sabotaged by the magic wave that swept the atmosphere, and some laws of physics changed making machines harder to make than they were on earth, still, humans would eventually find their way back to luxury
After he set up the fire properly he had to wait for the water to heat up, meanwhile, he took off his clothes and walked to the human-sized mirror to inspect himself, it has been two days only yet his figure changed so much, he was still just as thin but instead of bones he had a slight ting of muscles forming all over his body, his face remained the same but his eyes looked like they were glowing vibrantly
"Hmm? So that's where it was"
He noticed a tattoo on the right shoulder, it was of a woman holding a sheathed sword, her stances was that of someone who was about to unsheath it and cut open whatever comes in front of her, surrounding her there seemed to be a circle that exuded the feeling of dignity, making normal human want to humble themselves before it
It was much more descriptive than the tattoo of Anput but knew that the two couldn't be compared, yet
"She's a late bloomer, but when she does mature I am sure she would be of the most use to me"
He was looking forward to that day, but now was the time to relax and wash his thoughts away
Walking to the edge of the pool he checked the temperature by dipping his toe in, seeing it just right he submerged his body to the waist
"Ahh, its been so long since I took a bath"
He was a fan of hot baths but in the past he couldn't stay still in one place for a long time, thus he had to do with wiping his body if he wanted to clean himself
He smiled thinking of all the luxury he would have this time, his mind started to wander off, as sleep claimed him shortly after

Fragments from the Wildlands
“Your first death is always the hardest.” Miguela was the third-born child of a well-off merchant family and knew from around the time she could speak that her life’s path was already decided. She was to become an Orator, as was Xandran tradition. However, Miguela had an affinity with the magikal arts and somehow found herself studying at the Academy. She did just enough to keep up with her studies but never found the motivation to apply herself and “reach her potential,” as her instructors often said. It was not that Miguela was uninterested in the arts. Rather, she knew her time at the Academy ultimately did not matter. Whenever Miguela returned home, she would become an Orator, and that would be that. Or so she believed until, one day, an opportunity appeared that would change her life. Miguela was offered the chance to join a research team tasked with a mission of the utmost importance to the future of the Five Kingdoms. She could not turn down the prospect of regaining control of her life and finally finding a purpose for herself. Of course, Miguela might soon discover that offers that appear too good to be true are usually fraught with lies. Welcome to Five Kingdoms of Cordizal! Question: What is the Five Kingdoms of Cordizal? I often get asked this type of question about my stories by friends, bloggers, and potential readers. The Five Kingdoms of Cordizal is a high-fantasy epic universe that is the setting for most of my stories. The foundation of the universe is its multicultural, multiracial setting with several sentient races attempting to carve their legacy and survive. The world is fully fleshed out and vibrant with a rich and mysterious history not based on Tolkien mythology. This brings me to magic. To me, magic is an essential part of the fantasy genre, so, of course, there is magic in the Five Kingdoms universe. However, one critical part of the Five Kingdoms universe is that magic is an abundant commodity that is a part of everyday life and not some plot device used to drive the story. In short, the Five Kingdoms universe is the setting of epic fantasy stories with deep characters and world-building. I try to tell as many different types of stories as possible in the universe, and hopefully, you can find something for you in it.

Trials of a Magic Core
He was brave, and noble, and true. He was also a hunk of crystal floating in a magical circle, brought into existence by the self-styled "Greatest Magus of All Time" to be his personal intelligent magical encyclopedia, filled with every minutiae of the arcane this Magus could stuff into it, all ready and accessible at a moment's notice. But is simply knowing all there is to life? Can he strive for more? Should he? (Writer's Note:) I'm a pretty new writer, so expect delays, errors, inconsistent logic, plot holes the size of a small 4-wheeled vehicle, and a distinct lack of snark. At least from the MC. Also, yes, the cover is an image I made in paint. I have...NO artistic skills. It is a placeholder. Also, I came up with this idea in the shower after a nine-hour RRL binge. SO BEAR WITH ME.

It isn't one that test doesn’t test his physical strength, but his strength of character. He is paired up with a shy and traumatized boy name Mien. However, when Soletus’s resolve to help starts to waiver, Mien does something unexpected and Soletus decides that the boy deserves a second chance not as an act of duty but as a friend. Hy'Ruh-Ha is a what I consider a chronicle fantasy. It is a fantasy drama coming of age story inspired by slice-of-life stories I've read and watched. It is heavy on the slice-of-life and does move slow. It is low-stakes fantasy. This particular story is romance free.(2 out the of 4 is re-uploaded under this title) And if you are someone who cares, the POV character is asexual. Crossroad(formally labeled as the intermission stories)- is a novella collection continuing the tale where Hy'ruh-Ha. The collection as followed: Wolf- After spending several months in the swamp post, Oeric'Sheldmartin returns to repair the chasm between him and his son, Soletus. However, a ghost from his past comes to haunt him and could ruin the life he's made completely. Note: Wolf is a bit of a character piece. POV character is Oeric. The Priest and the Priestess- A novella written in the POV of Mien and then Kiao after a series of unexpected events that change their lives. Mien's POV- Mien has spent the last couple of years working not only in the infirmary but training to become a combat chanter as part of his penitence. Then one day, a drug addled elf comes into infirmary and changes his perspective of a friend and puts his knowledge to the tests to figure out a mystery effecting children in town. *Spoiler warning* Kiao's POV- Kiao spent most of her time in the infirmary living the same daily secret filled life and until Mien changed it.
