"Calling me a stupid lewd demon… I'm gonna bite you!"

Veia finally had enough of Floriana Sabina's relentless rude remarks. She ran forward towards Floriana Sabina with her fangs bared towards her.

Floriana Sabina who was blushing suddenly grinned smugly.

Veia didn't notice her grin and just continued charging forward. Her fangs bit into Floriana Sabina's neck.

"AHHHHHHHHH!!!"

"Kekeke, that's what you get for trying to attack me. Stupid lewd demon!"

Veia was rolling around on the floor shouting as she endured the pain coming from her fangs.

"My fangs…"

There were two broken pieces of Veia's fang lying on the floor. The moment she bit into Floriana Sabina's neck she felt like she was trying to bite onto solid rock.

Her fangs broke and the pain instantly assaulted her. It was so painful that she's crying and snot was coming out of her nose.

Rant Valo who was peacefully sleeping on the side woke up from the loud commotion she was causing. He looked around and saw Veia rolling around on the floor in pain.

"What are you doing, Veia?"

Rant Valo asked her in puzzlement. He just woke up and he suddenly saw Veia rolling around on the floor. For a moment he thought that his brain was damaged.

"Master!!"

Veia heard Rant Valo's voice and ran to his embrace.

"Master, you have to avenge me, ow…"

Veia's tears and snot were all over Rant Valo's shirt as Veia huddled him in comfort. Drops of blood leaked down from her mouth.

"What happened!?"

Rant Valo turned his head towards Floriana Sabina in stupefaction.

"Hmph."

Floriana Sabina looked away and just hmph'd at him. She thinks that the stupid lewd demon deserves it.

"Did you hit her?"

There was a shocked expression on Rant Valo's face as he imagined the worst possible scenario.

"Master, she did! I was just trying to protect you from her!"

Veia shouted from the sidelines. Now that she saw a chance, Veia wouldn't let it go to take a jab back at Floriana Sabina.

"Wha-!?"

Rant Valo looked at Floriana Sabina in disbelief. Fear enveloped his heart as the thought of Floriana Sabina trying to kill him was etched deep into his mind.

"Disciple, don't listen to that stupid lewd bitch!"

Floriana Sabina panicked when she saw the change in Rant Valo's expression. It was like he was looking at something abominable. Her heart ached when she saw that.

"No…. I trusted you…. Why is this happening to me!?"

Rant Valo's eyes were unfocused as his mind was swallowed by the fear of death. This was the result of the stress he got in recent days. He didn't feel that his life was safe anymore.

"Disciple!"

Floriana Sabina looked at Rant Valo worriedly. Rant Valo's mind was losing its sanity albeit slowly but surely.

"Master??"

Even Veia was confused at what was happening. Rant Valo was overreacting at what was happening. She didn't expect it to lead to this conclusion.

"What's happening?"

Suddenly, dark lines appeared on the ground. It enveloped this whole part of the cave.

Black fog appeared out of thin air and enveloped all of them.

"This feels familiar!"

There was a look of bewilderment in Veia's face as she felt the familiarity coming from the dark fog. It was like she was in the embrace of her parents.

"When was this magic circle here!?"

Floriana Sabina looked at the black lines on the ground in bewilderment. It was something called a Magic Circle. In the old days, it was called Array Formations, and even Star Patterns.

Magic Circles are designed and set up by a Magic Cultivator. It is very powerful. It can block attacks, attack others, and gather mana. There were other uses but those are rare.

Floriana Sabina ran towards Rant Valo in panic.

There, she saw Rant Valo standing up and black lines were flowing around his body. His eyes were unfocused just like a corpse.

"Oh no! The magic circle is affecting him. The only mortal here!"

Floriana Sabina exclaimed in fright. The magic circle is clearly at the Core Formation level. It can instantly kill any mortal it wants to.

"Wait, he's not dead yet!"

Floriana Sabina suddenly felt a faint pulse of life coming from Rant Valo's heart. It was glowing oh so faintly.

"It must be because this magic circle is too old!"

Floriana Sabina quickly realized why Rant Valo was still alive. Otherwise, if the magic circle was at full power he would have turned into dust in a matter of milliseconds.

STOMP

Floriana Sabina stomped on the ground of the cave. The cave shook as the spot she stomped on broke apart.

The dark lines flickered and then disappeared. The black fog also slowly dissipated into nothing.

A deep voice suddenly rang out. It was full of hate and killing intent.

"My legacy of 500 years has ended abruptly… I have sealed this cave from the inside, yet you still managed to enter! Now die!!"

"..."

"huh?"

Floriana Sabina braced herself but nothing happened after waiting for a while. While Veia looked around stupefied. The voice kinda felt familiar…

Cough

Rant Valo opened his eyes wide in shock. He felt like his life was not in his hands anymore when the black lines entered his body. His mind went insane.

"Disciple!"

Floriana Sabina heard Rant Valo cough and relief was written on her face. She went forward and embraced him. This disciple of hers just almost died after teaching her how to cook Spirit Fish. She wouldn't let him die before she could fully teach him cultivation!

"M-master!"

Contrary to expectation, it was Veia who said that. She hugged Rant Valo from behind. She also felt fear when Rant Valo was acting crazy earlier.

"You girls..."

Rant Valo was still confused at the two. He still did not know entirely why Veia was rolling around on the floor and why it seemed like Floriana Sabina did something to Veia.

"Master stinks!"

Suddenly, Veia broke the silence. She sniffed Rant Valo and he smelled like rotten meat.
