Danger Zone Chapter 261

Pregnancy was taking its toll on Aiden in more ways than one. Not only did he feel huge, he couldn't sleep at night anymore, he felt constant kicks, he had heartburn almost constantly, his feet and ankles were swelled like mini balloons, and his chest felt very tender and sore, but his hormones were out of wack as well.
His mood swings have been even more difficult to deal with and not just for the Omega, but for his family. Especially Drax, since he's been in the brute of things.
Aiden has been as moody as he could be because he was so uncomfortable and couldn't work like he used to. Sitting hunched over with a pen and paper or a laptop, and sometimes waddling towards the kitchen; it hurt the Omega's back after just an hour or so.
Throwing himself into his work wasn't an option anymore. He couldn't talk or even walk for hours on end either since he couldn't move around like he used to.
His family had been extremely patient with him since they knew he's been struggling, but most of them just avoid him right now, especially this week considering it's been a difficult week for him.
Their country has been going through a heat wave and their air conditioning had never been fixed from last year and the smaller Omega has not been handling it well.
Their son hasn't been either, finding that moving around to let his father know he was hot and uncomfortable too was his new favorite thing.
"This kid… DRAX!"
The older Alpha heard his mate's whining and immediately ran over to his direction when he saw him sprawled down to the floor, kicking his feet like a little kid.
"Yes?"
Even the Alpha was not sure not to say or tell his Omega when he suddenly glared at him and pointed at the A/C. It was well-known that their A/C messed up two weeks ago and the Alpha had no time to fix it due to his work.

"When are you going to fix the damn A/C? It's so hot!"
The Alpha sighed as he breathed in and out or his headache would probably make the Omega cry. His head had been hurting since three days ago but he couldn't complain. His headache was nothing compare what his Omega had been going through.
Drax just replied by pressing a soft kiss his temple, which the Omega was quick to bat away with the back of his hand. The Alpha smiled gently, going to wrap his hands around Aiden's belly, but the smaller male wiggled out of his grip.
"Stop, Alpha. It's too damn hot."
Drax sighed heavily, remembering to be patient with his boyfriend.
"Do you want some ice cream while waiting?"
An enthusiastic nod came as an answer as the Alpha stood up to get the tub of ice cream located at the fridge. The Omega probably looked quite comical at the moment.
Aiden was laying as far down on Drax's earlier position as much as possible, with his head still on the edge of the couch, dressed in a pair of gym shorts on and a t-shirt that was sitting at the top of his stomach, bunched up because he was hot.
His belly and stretch marks on full display and the Omega couldn't give a single shit about it because he was miserable. Sweat was glistening on his forehead and his hair was pushed back on his forehead and a firm pout was on his lips, his eyebrows scrunched together.
"This stupid...motherfucking… ARGH!"
The Alpha stopped from his tracks when he heard his Omega constantly whining at how hot the weather was. He chuckled a little bit before opening the icy cold freezer.
"Stop cussing, love. Our son might hear and learn it from you."
Aiden answered with a scoff before yelling back to his mate.

"I don't give a shit!"
The Alpha chuckled as he grabbed the tub of ice cream and went back to his mate before he complained at how hot it was. He sat beside his mate and opened the ice cream, that was clearly half full.
Aiden looked at it before frowning. He grabbed the spoon from the Alpha and scoop a small amount of ice cream before grimacing.
"What's wrong?"
The small Omega put the spoon back and moved away from the Alpha. Drax was concerned about the sudden reaction coming from his mate, who was clearly not impress by his favorite flavored ice cream.
"I feel nauseous looking at that ugly ice cream. Get that shit away from me."
Knowing that it was his favorite ice cream, tears from Aiden's eyes start to fall. Upon seeing his reaction, the Alpha reaches over, grabbing the tissue box from the counter and handing it to his mate.
Aiden gratefully took a few with a small smile on his face to his mate and wiped his tears while he talk.
"It's my favorite ice cream yet I can't eat it and—and—and… ack…"
The Alpha understood his reason for hating the flavor of the ice cream. It was a mint chocolate ice cream, for God's sake. Some liked it but there are also some who despised the flavor, and Drax was one of those who hate it.
He opened his arms and the Omega sank down gently onto the couch with a huff struggling slightly to swing his legs up onto the cushions, but once he did, he leaned back into his mate's arms, similar to their previous position, but a lot more relaxed.
Aiden laid his head into the crook of Drax's elbow and the Alpha started to card his fingers through the elder's hair. The Omega's hands come to rest over the stretched skin on his tummy, still being shown off, with his shirt still pulled up.
Aiden sniffled a little more and let his eyes fall shut.
"Thank you, Alpha."
"For what?"
"Dealing with me and this. Being there for me even when I'm acting like a bitch. I just love you so much, Alpha. Please don't ever leave us."
The Alpha chuckled as he leaned forward and kissed his Omega on the forehead. He shook his head and whispered sweet nothings to his mate, to calm him down.
"Never. I would never leave you two. I would do anything for you guys. Anything because I love you too. Both of you. I'm so grateful for the two of you and that will never change."
The Omega sniffled, but Drax just smiles at him, leaning down as best as possible without disturbing Aiden's peace and kissing his forehead with soft, gentle lips.
"Go to sleep, love. You'll feel better when you wake up."
Aiden nodded, setting more comfortably into his mate's arm, his hands cupping his belly carefully and his eyes falling shut. Being cuddled up against his Alpha like this, it didn't take long for his breathing to even out and his lips to part a little from sleep.
Drax just smiles down at his partner, watching him sleep peacefully, the hand that was going through his hair, coming down to rub his belly gently, feeling the stretched skin.
"No matter how moody you get, I'm the luckiest man in the world."

Following a shocking attack and a cruel deception, Dorothea grows her conscience and takes up arms, using her self-destructive ability to manipulate the flow of time to ensure Sacer’s victory. Her growing understanding of war and the two factions is guided by Iree Nobelis, the determined and enthralling commander of Sacer’s forces, Ariana Kingfisher, a steely swordswoman of mixed Ghurian and Sacerian descent, and Rhys Tamlin, a kind but haunted soldier who goes to challenge Dorothea’s self-imposed celibacy and join her on a mutual journey of healing from the tragic legacies of the Atlin family and wars between the nations. Meanwhile, Dorothea’s only friend and deserter from the Sacerian military, Shark Olyen, returns to their homeland to face the family that disowned them and finds more than they bargained for in meeting Cerid Creed, a noble whose duty to his people clashes with his desires in romance and in life, much like Shark’s did long before. As their developing or preexisting loves and differing convictions on how to achieve peace create rifts between these major players, Dorothea experiences a personal revolution that leads her to fight for what she believes is right, no matter the cost.
