He knew it. The Omega knew.

It all started after having a lot of research with his Alpha, in between their cycles as they attempted to make the Omega's dream and also their dream of starting a family a reality.

Even if Alliana asked the Alpha to marry his brother first, that did not stopped Nigel to ask the Alpha to get ready when he is pregnant. Morning sickness, weight gain, moodiness and odd cravings, start to surface until the Alpha finally bought a pregnancy test and the result did not shock them at all.

Yes, Nigel was pregnant.

But what Nigel didn't expect was his weird obsession with collecting items that were heavily drenched in the scent of his Alpha and how much comfort said items would bring him.

It shouldn't have surprised him when he was gathering these items, taking them back to their bedroom and creating an actual nest out of them. It was almost like an instant instinct for him to do this. It brought him comfort when the Alpha had to leave for work.

Primo on the other hand, had no idea what was happening to all of his clothes, but they were going missing. At first, the Alpha thought maybe Nigel had just fallen behind with the laundry because he wasn't feeling well.

He'd offered to help out more, but the Omega told him he could handle things, so he didn't push it for fear of upsetting the already emotional man. The Alpha let it go, but now it seemed to be getting out of hand.

When it became difficult to find dress shirts for work or his old band tees to workout in, Primo was determined to find out the cause.

Which led to what he was currently staring at. Primo had come home from the office to have lunch with Nigel. He wanted to spend more time with the Omega and be there for him during their first pregnancy.

While Nigel went to take care of lunch, Primo thought he'd freshen up in the room, but he'd been stunned to find a giant nest of his clothes on their bed.

Primo blinked as he crouched down at the side of the bed and started to examine the articles of dirty clothing. The Alpha tilted his head, looking as confused as he felt before he made the mistake of pulling one of the items out and disturbing the entirety of the nest that the Omega had created.

The gasp that caught his attention almost startled him as he stood up quickly and turned his head to see his mate standing in the doorway.

Nigel's eyes blown wide and glossed over with tears. The Alpha felt like a pup that had been caught doing something wrong. The emotions that ran across the Omega's face were so fast, it would have made anyone dizzy.

The Omega went from upset, sad, betrayed and to angry in a matter of seconds. Primo was stunned as Nigel's little hands balled into tight fists.

"WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING, YOU STUPID ALPHA?!"

Anger is evident in his voice, making the Alpha flinched at the sudden outburst. Before the Alpha could even respond to defend himself, Nigel was charging for him and with one quick motion he snatched the shirt from the Alpha's hand.

Primo watched the other as he pushed him aside and tried to put the shirt back in the place it had been pulled from.

The frustrated mutters of the Omega quickly became sobs and absolute panic filled the Alpha. That's when he realized his mistake.

"I didn't know it was your nest baby! I didn't do it on purpose!"

The Omega glared at him before looking back to his imperfect nest. It was his first time so what the Alpha did was a bit insensitive.

"GO AWAY! I DON'T WANT TO SEE YOU ANYMORE!"

The Alpha deflated, a small pout forming across his lips as he sighed and then turned to leave but paused in the doorway. He glanced back at the Omega, feeling he shouldn't leave but he didn't want to upset the other further.

The guilt he felt was eating away at him already. Primo made it to the walkway and stopped, he could still hear the soft sobs and mutters coming from his mate.

There was no way he could leave Nigel like this. Slipping his hand into his pocket, he pulled out his cellphone and dialed the direct number of his cousin. Placing the phone against his ear, it rang only once before the Drax answered.

"Hey, I don't think I can come right now. I messed up again."

A laugh answered his reason which made the Alpha feel bad even more. Drax had accepted his reasons and asked him to take care of his mate even more or he will leave him.

"Yeah. Yeah. Bye."

The Alpha loosened his tie, setting his briefcase back down along with his phone. He went to check on their lunch, making sure everything was off and the risk of burning their apartment down wasn't present.

He then grabbed the food and made his way back to the bedroom. The sight he found honestly broke his heart. Nigel was sitting in the center of his now destroyed nest, holding Primo's pillow tight and sobbing into it.

Fuck.

The Alpha thought to himself. He had to fix this. Primo slowly walked towards the bed as he set the tray of food down on the nightstand and stood beside the bed.

"Baby?"

Nigel didn't lift his head from the pillow but let out a soft noise that almost sounded like a whiny go away. It didn't sound serious so the Alpha decided to keep going. He was careful as he crawled onto the bed but didn't enter Nigel's nest despite its ruined state.

"I am sorry that I messed up your beautiful nest."

Nigel stilled, slowly lifting his head as his puffy, tear stained cheeks made the other look like the upset baby chick his friends always teased him as being. His plump lips jutted out in a pout as he stared at Primo with red, swollen tear-filled eyes that glistened like golden stars against his vibrant blond hair.

"I can give you all of my clothes to you in order to fix it if you want."

Nigel's eyes slowly widened as he looked at his mate, quickly nodding as he seemed to perk up. The Alpha smiled, shifting to get off the bed and going towards their closet as he opened it.

"Now, where are the clothes that definitely smelled like me."

Primo heard a giggle from his back as he searched the closet for more clothes that he either forgot to wash or never wore before.

"Ah! Got them!"

The Alpha turned around, only to see his Omega extending both of his arms towards him and asked the Alpha to come forward while stripping off what he was wearing.

The Alpha obliged and stripped everything off he was wearing as the Omega placed the new clothes he offered on his nest until he was satisfied.

"How is it now?"

The Omega smiled widely, showing his teeth and crescent eyes.

"It's perfect! Thank you, Alpha! You're the best!"

Primo realized now why this space was so important to his mate and he wouldn't make that mistake again. Nuzzling the side of his mate's neck, he kissed at the skin as he pulled the other close.

This was the lesson that he would never forget. EVER.
