Thrown Into A New World: Let The Punishment Begin! Chapter 121

'The child wished that she doesn't get the praises for the good deed that she has done for the kingdom.' Marquess Samed justified his actions and glanced at the King as he awaited his response.
After being so politely threatened by King Ophire, Sullivan had no other choice but to spill the beans.
In a few minutes, he had narrated about how it was Yvonne who had discovered the flaws in the policies that he had brought upon their first meeting.
It was also Yvonne who had told him about the three-step plan that he had used as a reference on which he had based his entire report.
The same child had also drawn the trade routes that were visible on the paper that the King now held.
If Yvonne had been present right now then she would have branded him as a traitor without any hesitations.
However, the child was happily asleep wrapped up in the warm blankets, and was oblivious about the breach of trust that was taking place at this moment.
After hearing everything that Sullivan had to say, King Ophire gazed at the paper in his hand with the utmost focus.
Being the ruler of the land, he was trained to recreate the map of his kingdom in his mind from a young age.
Thus he had no problem in figuring out exactly which places that were present on the trade routes made by the child.
'I see…' He muttered to himself after a few seconds.
"Were you planning on taking credit for the work done by a child, Marquess? I did not know that you were such a man." Ophire shook his head to express his disappointment.
'I never knew that the man I had chosen to be my Felly's tutor would turn out to be such a scum of a man!' He rebuked the shameful behavior that he had witnessed today.

Sullivan was wrongly accused when all he was doing was adhering to his student's wishes.
"Not at all, Your Majesty!" He denied the accusation placed on his head.
'I had told her that I would make sure that the King applauded her for her performance but she refused!' He defended himself inwardly.
Seeing the suspicious look in the ruler's eyes, Sullivan knew that he had to speak up for himself before it was too late.
"It was Miss St. Claire who desired to remain unnamed about the valuable assistance that she had given in the matter concerning the policies." He explained to extricate himself from the accusation placed on him.
The King was stunned speechless when he heard this absurd request that the child seemed to have made.
"Why?" Was all he had to say in response to the explanation that Sullivan had given.
Marquess Samed shook his head when he heard this question and once again repeated the words that Yvonne had said while making the strange request.
'First, she declines the chance of becoming my Felly's playmate and now she refuses to take the credit for the great discovery that she has made?' Ophire's brows furrowed as he thought about this.
According to the information that he had on the child, he was aware that she was brighter than other kids her age.
This was also one of the reasons why he was willing to grant her the prestigious position of studying alongside his beloved daughter.
But now, he was having second thoughts about how bright and intelligent she might be.
'I have to meet her someday to know for sure.' He reckoned and glimpsed at the uneven lines on the paper he still held in his hand.
Now that Sullivan had thoroughly broken the promise he had made to his pupil, he wished to make sure that her core request was fulfilled.

"Your Majesty, can we please keep this matter between ourselves?" He pleaded on her behalf.
When he noticed the raised brows of the King, Sullivan decided to do his best to make sure that he succeeded in his task.
"The child wishes to be of help to the Kingdom without gaining anything in return. A noble gesture on her part." He tried to convince the powerful man to see things from his point of view.
Sure enough, when King Ophire heard those words he was reminded of what was written in the holy scriptures of their God Asmodeus Del Ovin.
Not wishing to disrespect the teachings of their patron god, Ophire gave his nod of approval.
"Very well. The citizens will not be made aware of the true mind behind this new policy." He declared with a firm voice.
The words 'new policy' echoed in Sullivan's ears and he turned towards the King in a slapdash manner.
Discerning the stupefied look on his face, Ophire rolled his eyes and clapped his hand.
The very next moment, the doors of the Throne room were pushed open and the six noblemen walked in.
Their eyes sparkling with excitement was evidence of how much they were pleased with the report they had read after they were sent outside the Throne room.
"What do you have to say about the report that Marquess Samed has prepared for us?" The King inquired and placed his elbow on the armrest with his chin rested on his palm.
He was not bothered about any rejections from them as he had already gauged their positive body language.
When Sullivan heard his name being mentioned, he finally sighed that he had managed to convince the King to keep Yvonne's name away from being connected to the report.
'She cannot find fault with me now that I have succeeded in helping her to accomplish her good deed without gaining recognition for it.' He surmised and bowed to express his gratitude to the King.
If Yvonne were here to hear his thoughts then she would have banged her head against a wall for he had completely missed the reason why she had asked for such a bizarre request in the first place.

When their involvement in their friend's suicide catches up to them, how will they juggle their guilt, issues, and crumbling friendships that fall before them? This is a redux of Petrichor. I was unsatisfied with how the story went. I rushed things and left things to happen off-screen a lot. So I'm rewriting it, this time dividing the acts into their separate books to allow the characters to properly develop. The story will mostly stay the same but I'll fix all the plot holes I found and change some character motivations here or there.
