I Can Farm Attributes From Ghosts! Chapter 19

The water ghost incident caused an uproar in the Special Department of the Bran Empire.
As the protagonist of the water ghost incident, Brian was naturally related.
The Special Department did not take the news seriously at first. They only wanted to find the creatures in the water and the missing people. However, after a thorough investigation, they found out that the water ghost had really disappeared. Combined with the livestream found by the information center, the higher-ups of the Special Department immediately locked onto the young man named Brian.
The Special Department had special privileges. They easily found Brian at the Bluefields College.
'D*mn! Am I going to some incredible place?!'
Everything went dark. Brian walked out and had his eyes covered in black cloth.
In the pitch-black darkness, he was helped onto a rumbling helicopter.
Brian now knew that the place they were going to was definitely not near. Otherwise, why would they use helicopters?
After about an hour, his vision cleared up.
Brian squinted around.
What greeted his eyes was an empty room with two tables and chairs facing each other. There was nothing around.
While Brian was looking around, a middle-aged man in casual clothes walked in.
"Hello! I'm the captain of this special mission team, Victor! I'm sorry to meet you in this manner!"
"Handsome Brian! I'm still a student."
Brian took Victor's large calloused hands in a gentlemanly manner and suddenly felt a tremendous force begin to pass through them.
'Oh? Want to test my skills?'
Brian's smile did not falter and he used some force in his hand.
Victor felt as if he was holding a pair of iron pliers. He could not move it even if he tried his best.
After receiving the ten point physical strength reward from the system last time, Brian's physical strength had surpassed that of an ordinary human. The concentrated and explosive strength caused the robust Victor to flush.

"Hehe! Mr. Brianis a young hero! It's rare!"
Seeing Victor's flushed cheeks, Brian withdrew his hand.
"Haha! I've always liked to work out since I was young. I've trained myself to be quite strong. I've embarrassed myself in front of you."
'You call this brute strength?'
'Even an athlete who had been practicing grasping since young might not be better than you.' Victor quietly hid his trembling right hand behind his back.
"Since Mr. Brian is so smart, I won't beat around the bush. The department hopes to obtain a reasonable explanation for the water monster live-stream."
Indeed, they had brought him here because of the water ghost.
Brian did not think that it was Celia's fault. After all, even if there had not been a mistake during the live-stream, he would still be exposed to the authorities in the future.
The officials were not fools. It was only a matter of time before they noticed him.
He would have to face it sooner or later, so why not let it come earlier? This way, he could also prepare for it!
"Explain? Mr. Victor, what kind of explanation do you want?"
"Firstly, did you destroy the water ghost? Secondly, how did you destroy it? I want to hear the details."
"You believe that I can destroy the water ghost? You have to know that there are many different opinions on this matter online. Many people are suspecting that I'm faking it. Aren't you afraid that my words are fake?"
"We're only responsible for understanding the situation. As for whether it's true or not, someone will naturally verify it. Besides, I believe that Mr. Brian won't lie here. At the very least, he won't lie in front of me. Am I right?"
Their gazes met and an invisible pressure arose spontaneously.
"Hahaha! Handsome Brian never lies."
Indeed, he was not lying. He was only keeping half of it as per usual.

Brian had already prepared his speech about the water ghost. It sounded logical and reasonable.
An hour later, Victor looked uncomfortable.
He looked at the young man who was blabbering in shock and asked in disbelief, "Are you telling the truth… Does that thing really work on ghosts?"
"Mm! I don't know if the rest are useful, but they are quite useful against water ghosts."
Brian did not reveal the System's ability, but in order to dispel the Victor or the people behind Victor's speculation, he also revealed some valuable information.
This also explained why a student like him could deal with a water ghost.
When he thought about how all the soldiers in the Special Forces would unlace their belts and kill their enemies when they carried out missions in the future, it was indeed a little strange.
Victor looked at the smile on the young man's face and suddenly felt a chill!
Bang! Creak, creak, creak!
At this moment, the sound of a door being pushed open could be heard.
Brian smiled at the familiar high-heeled frequency.
"Fate brings us together from thousands of miles away. It's amazing that we can meet in such a big city like Gro City!"
He followed the footsteps.
Celia was ushered in by the soldiers.
A faint fragrance wafted over and the smile on Brian's face grew wider.
"My dear lady in high heels, may I have the honor to have dinner with you tonight? We can go to my castle. After we finish eating, we can watch an imported movie together!"
For some reason, every time he met Celia, he would always want to tease her.
At that moment, a pleasant ringing sound came from his pocket, interrupting their conversation.
"You are my Little Apple, no matter how much I love you, it's not enough…"1
Brian awkwardly pressed the answer button.
"Hey! I'm handsome Brian!"
"Celebrity Brian, have you seen the news today?"
Brian looked at the caller ID on his phone — Old Bu.He was a little confused.
This was indeed his cheap father. Why was there a female voice on the phone?
Also, this voice sounded familiar. What did it mean to let him watch the news?
"Selina?"
The other party did not reply and only left a sentence.
"I'll give you an hour to return to the castle. I'll wait for you there."
Beep! Beep! Beep!
After some hesitation, the call ended.
Because it was on speaker mode, everyone heard their conversation clearly.
Victor and the other soldiers were fine, except for Celia, who looked a little upset!
Brian was about to explain when Celia covered his eyes with a black cloth.
"You bastard, Mr. Brian. You have the best candidate for dinner now. Get lost!"
Under Celia's murderous gaze, several soldiers stepped forward to help Brian away.
Watching the young man leave, Victor said in a low voice, "Miss! Are we letting him go just like that? What about the next mission?"
Celia angrily took off her high heels, followed by the sound of two heavy objects hitting the wall.
On closer look, the high heels were like sharp blades that were embedded two to three centimeters into the wall. It was very scary!
Gulp! What had made this miss angry again?
"Hmph! I don't believe that we can successfully complete the mission even without him!"
"But…"
"No buts. Do you have a problem with what I do? If you have a problem with it, feel free to respond to the higher-ups!"
'But wasn't this person recommended by you?' Victor was depressed!
Celia coldly snorted. "Hmph! We'll settle that matter ourselves. Even without him, I can still settle it!"

Sword System Academia
2/17 NOTICE: I'm putting this on hiatus, possibly permanently. I didn't want to spam with an "update chapter", so hopefully here and in the story blurb will get enough eyeballs. There are a couple reasons for ending SSA for now. 1) I wrote the next chapter but wasn't happy with it. I've been less and less satisfied with SSA's quality the more I thought about it. Part of the reason is... 2) I am seriously thinking about trying to publish some novels to help pay the bills, since I don't have my other source of income anymore. I have never asked for anything from SSA readers, no money, not even a review or rating. SSA is written for fun to amuse myself, primarily, and I would kind of feel bad actually charging someone money for something as unserious as that. I don't think it is good enough to ask anything in return. To use an analogy from music, SSA is more like a jam session with a bunch of friends. You're just chiling and having fun playing some music. I mean, if you are Mozart or even Eminem, your jam session is good enough to sell, but for an amateur beginner like myself, haha, no. If I want to publish something, I feel like I need to go the proper route of practice and rehearsals, which might be more similar to a classical concert performance. With SSA, I work from worldbuilding notes and a loose outline, but what you are essentially getting is the first draft with lots of so-called pantsing. Pushing out a web novel like this also means it is very difficult to go back and improve things without breaking everything else downstream. I wanted to try this "jamming" approach, as it was a good way to teach me about another aspect of writing, but to move forward, I think I need to hone my "classical" techniques, which emphasize rewriting, or at least, revising outlines. 3) While I intend to try to make $$$, my actual current goal is to "get gud". I've spent a lot of time recently trying to understand the self-publishing industry, and I'm pretty sure I can make some money by using short-term strategies with my current amateur skill level. But I've seen too many authors come and go/burnout, and really, the only way that I think I can enjoy writing and still make money on a long-term basis is to become a better writer. And the next step for me, which I haven't done much before, is to spend more time on rewriting and outlines. That is pretty much antithetical to the way SSA is developing. I've always been kind of 20/80 plotting/pantsing, but I want to spend a lot more time outlining before I even start writing. SSA jam sessions don't really fit my goal anymore. If you're curious about what's next, read on... Among other regrets, I regret not finishing SSA. It's the first story I've dropped, but then again, it's the first web novel I've attempted, so I suppose that's not a surprise. I don't think traditional web novel formats suit me that well. The whole SSA story I had loosely planned (beyond a first book or major arc) is way too large as well. Big story = good for neverending webnovel with Patreons, bad for penniless and fickle writer like me. I am currently outlining a complete trilogy to another story in great detail. I want the story to end concisely, and I also want the chance to really spend a lot of time on the full outline to spot pacing problems, character issues, lost themes, and so on. I'll still share this story on RR. What I intend to do is finish book 1, flash-publish the whole thing here for a few weeks, then publish on the big Zon. Repeat for books 2 and 3. The upcoming story will be about crafting heroes. The backdrop is an isekai-like setting, where elves will summon humans to their world as heroes, but the whole hero crafting business is still in its infancy. The elven mage researchers are figuring out how to imbue heroes with power, while the heroes are trying to figure out how to use the powers that they gain. Humans are the best hero templates because they are blank and have no intrinsic magic. Or at least that what the elves thought. The human MC has his own secrets... There will be some similarities with litrpgs, but I would call it more a progression fantasy or gamelit story. For example, the stats are very low, at least initially. Say we have a stat called Str. Going from Str = 1 to Str = 2 is a huge deal. Also, going from Dex = 0 to Dex = 1 is an even bigger deal. I guess you could call it a "low-stat litrpg", haha. Also, the heroes won't be gaining stats simply by killing things or leveling up. You can't increase stats arbitrarily, either. There will be rules to how stats can increase, and how they work with each other. The elven mages will be figuring out these rules in order to craft stronger and stronger heroes. Some inspiration will be from cultivation magic systems, but there won't be overt cultivation, at least for now. A theme I really want to explore is the idea of interactions. That includes things like hero crafter vs hero, tactics vs strategy, skill synergies, racial interactions (dwarves, elves, etc), and son. Yeah, so hero crafting. I'm super excited about this project and venturing into publishing. If you want to check out the upcoming story, you can follow my RR author profile to see when it drops here. Finally... THANK YOU TO EVERYONE! I'm very sorry that SSA is stopping, but I hope at least some of you will find the next story at least as enjoyable, if not more. Thanks to all the readers who gave SSA a shot. Big hug or solid fistbump to all of you, whichever you prefer! I hope this message is not a downer but an upper, because I am psyched!! -purlcray -------------- BLURB: Talen, youngest Master of the Koroi, makes his way to the Empire's capital to salvage his clan's fate. But the bustling city has few opportunities for the traditionalist. For the old sword clans are fading. With the rise of alchemy, gold can purchase strength that ordinarily took years of training to cultivate. Sword artists, once rare and accomplished, are quickly growing in number, especially among the wealthy noble class. Even with such alchemy, though, no one has advanced to the rank of Grandmaster in countless years. Talen's true dream is to walk the path of a sword artist to the very end while fulfilling his clan duties. And then the Swordgeists return, fabled founders of all sword arts, gods who had touched the world long ago and vanished. These myths turned into reality warn of a coming threat. Alongside this warning, they issue an invitation to the Sword System Academy, a path to power beyond the mortal realm. But first, they will hold an entrance exam... Story notes:Sword System Academia blends elements of western and asian fantasy such as xianxia and litrpg. I took parts from different genres I enjoyed and twisted them into my own creation. There will be an explicit system, both of the litrpg kind and the hard(ish) magic kind, but it is embedded within an academic structure that will develop over the course of the story. This is my attempt to design a unique type of system, the System Academia.

Forced Immortality
Guy dies, transmigrates and then dies some more. Contrary to what you might think, this is actually a story about an OP protagonist. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Things to keep in mind before reading: - I have never written a story before so this will most likely end up being pretty bad. - I have done zero planning for this story. - This is mostly something i wanted to try out in my freetime so updates are going to be sporadic at best. - Chapter length will fluctuate until i figure out this whole writing thing. - I have no idea if there will be romance. Might add it in the future if this story somehow doesn't end up as a failure. - There will be some stuff from the Star Wars Universe but this is NOT a Star Wars fanfiction. - The story will be pretty explicit in the gore department so if your squeamish, beware. - This story will be a slow burn. - If any of the above changes, i'll update the synopsis and i might make a seperate chapter just detailing these points. - Last point, English isn't my native language so have some mercy on my poor soul, ok? If none of the above has scared you away then i invite you to join me on this catastrophic ride. It'll probably be kinda fun.....hopefully... This story is also on Scribblehub and Webnovel.

That and the other guilds don't stop them since they also hire their services from time to time. The various temples and religions have no official power part from some nations which are based around a belief. In actuality though they have considerable powers since they control the masses just as well as the rulers themselves. Get on their bad side and you might just find an assassin coming for you. A young woman gets thrown into this grimdark world from our own. Will she survive the curveball that gets thrown in her face as she changes into something else? Map created by Maximeplasse This fiction is based on my play-per-post RP that I've run before but with my own take on summoned characters and dungeon settings. At certain points I'll also allow reader decisions if the story gets popular enough. xD It's unrelated to the D&D Theron setting; Telduria I just liked the name and the map when I started up the RP back in the day.
