I Reincarnated As A Shinai Chapter 290

Mourad just used his Blast Bullet to scatter the Harpies that are targeting his position.
It did manage to interrupt their movements but it was not enough to kill the harpies.
'Tsk… Close combat, huh…'
The young man realized that using his hunting rifle is no longer effective. His firing rate was too slow and that fighting with his sword would be a lot better.
Ssak—Ssak—Ssak—
Instead of waiting for the Harpies to come, Mourad pounced on the closing beast with his swords.
The three harpies in front cried in pain after being sliced by his swords… Nevertheless, it didn't stop them from attacking the annoying young man…
Mourad had to use the building he's in to make sure that he won't get easily surrounded and beaten to death…
Bam! Bam!
Two Harpies suddenly collapsed as three sword practitioners have also arrived.
"We're here to help!"
"You're too far from us… You have to bring us whenever you're planning to snipe the enemies…"
"Haha! That's right!"
They are the triplets of the Bhibra Village named Vrogh, Aknel, and Droltob.
"Thank you for helping me… How about the others?"
"We managed to bring them into the shelter. For now, the elder wanted to move the battle away from it so we decided to take the beast's attention he… The other practitioner should be coming by now."
"That's good to hear…"
Mourad replied in a low voice. He knows that though all of them are young and weaker compared to the adult half-imps who have amazing skills with their Arcana and Magic Weapons, they are still quite powerful when they are together.
Their Miyazaki Sword Style can surely deal with these harpies and gryphons as long as the beasts wouldn't use any of their Arcane Magic.
Caawww! Caawww!
The Harpies became angry as they started glowing red…

"They'll be in berserk mode! Be careful!"
Droltob reminded everyone.
Mourad wanted to run away as quickly as possible since fighting a berserk Evil Beast would be too exhausting. During their berserk period, the beast would have a powerful energy shell that would stop most of their physical attacks.
Aside from that, their movements and senses would be heightened making it difficult to launch a sneak attack against them.
In short, they will have to spend plenty of energy fighting a Berserk Evil Beast… So he wanted to just wait until their berserk finishes since they will be weakened for a short period after using this ability…
"Dodge!"
However, the harpies wouldn't let them… They have decided to target their small group and are all excited to kill them with everything they got.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Their spears and talons were able to match the blade of their swords…
"Aahh!"
"Let's hurry to the other group! We can't deal with all of them!"
"Mist Blade Activate!" Droltob then activated the Magic Weapon that he received from the village elders.
Apparently, since he managed to enter the top six, the elders were so proud of him that they've decided to give him a Magic Weapon.
It is the Mist Blade that he's using right now to fight against the Evil Beasts.
A thick fog covered their surroundings allowing them to escape in the direction of other practitioners…
Caaww!
"Ahhh!"
As Droltob relaxed after creating fog to block the evil beast's sight, he was suddenly stabbed by one of the Harpy's wooden spears!
It was actually thrown in his direction… It was perhaps a lucky shot or they could still see clearly even with the cover of the enchanted fog.
"Ugh! It's useless to them, huh… I learned it the hard way…" Droltob muttered with his weakened voice… He's thinking that it is already his end as the spear struck his body.

However, as he was having his thoughts, he heard a sword dropping on the ground…
It was Mourad's sword and it seems to be foolish since they are in the middle of a fight. Even if he used his rifle, he thought that it would only at least kill a single Harpy before the others would swarm them.
"Don't be reckless, Mourad!" Aknel also noticed Mourad's action and warned him.
However, the young man didn't listen as he pounced on the Harpies coming at them…
Seeing this, the two uninjured men decided to help Droltob. They didn't want to waste Mourad's sacrifice…
That's right, they thought that Mourad is planning to take the attention of all the Evil Beasts so that they could save the injured Droltob.
However, they didn't notice the light wooden sword that has appeared in his hands due to the fog!
Sword Intent! Sword's Will! Mystical Energy Manipulation...
Normal Slash!
Mourad waved the shinai to the group of incoming berserk Harpies…
This simple slash created a blade force that was sent to cut the Evil Beasts!
It is not a specific skill but a sword technique made by combining the three skills that Reiji had activated.
It is just a normal slash empowered by three passive skills!
Caaww!
The Harpies cried in pain for a moment before becoming completely silent. The single slash eliminated the 10 or so Evil Beasts just like that…
'Master… Thank you for arriving on time…'
'No worries… You should practice with that Arcana of yours… Try to master your piercing shot to fight against multiple enemies.'
'I understand, Master… For now, I'm planning to return to my group. Do you want me to go ahead and fight with you instead?'
'Hmm… Just return for now. It's better to fight in a group. I might help the others if they are in a bad position.'
Mourad nodded as he quickly followed the triplets into safety… Apparently, the sword practitioners created an encirclement to fight the Gryphons who had decided to descend on the ground and the Harpies that were flying and using spears to fight.
"Is that a power of your Arcana?! What do you call that ability?!" Aknel asked… However, he was just reprimanded by his brother for asking. After all, they are still in a precarious situation.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
As they have gotten near the encirclement at the southern part of the village… They have realized that the Evil Beasts had actually concentrated their forces in this area.
The ones they just fought on the other side were Evil Beasts who are just cleaning the strugglers in the buildings and streets within the village.
Boom! Boom!
As they entered the encirclement… They suddenly heard a collapsing ground not too far from them…
Soon, they heard one of the elders shouts…
"A part of the Ground Fortification collapsed! There will be incoming Forest Rats! Be ready!"

When Plush comes to Shove
An: So the last synopsis wasn’t really all that good, it was just some mumbo jumbo with no actual point to it so I decided to make a new one that’s a bit more accurate. Leo Lush, just your average everyday (slightly chubby) schmuck, or at least he would be if he didn’t carry around a stuffed toy everywhere he went.I mean, he was a man who could read the atmosphere a bit so put it away in his bag whenever having a stuffed toy out would be rude but other than that he brought it with him all the time, it was a memento from his girlfriend who had died three years ago and keeping it close made him feel better. That’s also why his classmates gave him the nickname “Plush”, though that's neither here nor there. One day at the train station he’d lost his dearest stuffed toy, one of his classmates found it and lobbed it towards him, something that they’d already done many times before, but this time something went wrong and Leo found himself falling in front of the train due to the force of the throw. Now follow Leo as the spirit that developed in his stuffed toy and killed him forces his ghost into another world to possess a different stuffed toy. He doesn’t know much about the world or why he’s there but what he does know is that according to a magic book his girlfriend was also sent to this very world when she died in a plane accident three years ago. An: For those who want to know a bit more about what kind of story this will be: I want it to be a chill feel-good story and stay as far away from those despair-fest stories as possible (No offense to people who enjoy them, I’m just not one of you)Let me make something clear; I’m not writing this story with hope of it becoming really top tier among RRL (Though it did get above rank 500 once which I’m still very proud of even though it’s gone back down to ~850 at the time of writing this) I just want to write a story that I would enjoy reading, that’s why I’ll be mostly skipping over a lot of the parts that I skip when I read other stories, such as stats, the exact value of money and other such precise statistics that no one(as far as I’m aware) really cares about all that much. Just feels like a lot of effort for something superfluous. There’s a single exception and that’s one of the battles, it’s not a despair-fest or anything but it’s got a different feel than the rest of the story due to me being in a funky mood while I was writing it.
