The day of the Beast Wave has finally arrived.

The half-imps have realized that they are truly about to face the largest beast wave they've ever seen.

Because of this, they have all decided to stay together inside the Bhibra Village. It is the largest among the three and has the most ideal location where they only have to worry about the flying beasts.

The defense would still be divided by three like the other times.

However, this time, there would be plenty of villagers that will be assigned to fortify the ground.

It is currently the most crucial part of surviving this beast wave.

If the Forest Rats and other crawling beasts managed to enter through the ground, it would be a huge disaster for them.

"Master… The Elders of the three villages have assigned a total of 600 Half-Imps to fortify the ground. As for the combatant, only about 800 of them will participate in the battle."

Ruthren reported after he visited the final discussion between the elders of the villages.

"Eight hundred, huh. That should be enough. We only have limited space anyway…"

The sword slave then continued explaining the task assigned to his sword practitioners. Apparently, these young ones would be tasked to protect the non-combatant Half-Imps, like the elders, the pregnant, and the children.

Reiji is satisfied with this arrangement since there's a lot of older and stronger half-imps anyway.

Especially now that the three villages have decided to stay together. There will be many of them who had already received the tattoo marks on their bodies indicating that they've already been sent to the nearby kingdoms for a mission.

They have perhaps just returned here to help with the Beast Wave. Anyway, it has been a while since they've sent another batch after the give guardians have arrived in their village.

Ruthren replied as he soon left to be with the elders.

This is also Reiji's plan to ensure that those old men wouldn't die so easily. They are very reasonable leaders of the village and could accept new things like how he introduced his Dojo.

That's right, they didn't have any issues when he thought that he would receive plenty of objections! They were very understanding and willing to try new things just to protect their village and its people.

Reiji then thought of visiting his students and see their current conditions. However, Szaaz suddenly notified him of a problem.

"Master… I felt a powerful beast coming…"

"What? Isn't it a bit too early?"

"I'm not sure as well… This beast is alone though. I'm not sure if it's just passing by or we are being targeted."

Reiji then focused for a bit and used his Arcane Magic to find the beast.

The villagers know that the beast wave would start tonight since the scouts sent out have already confirmed the current situation. However, they should still have at least 6 hours before it happens!

"W-what's with this powerful beast?" Reiji was shocked after feeling the presence of the huge creature flying in their direction…

Clang! Clang! Clang!

Perhaps, the scouts had also seen the huge flying beast as they sounded the bell indicating of everyone about an incoming danger to the village.

Roar!

A deafening roar woke up everyone in the village. Many of the warriors were currently resting as they are waiting for the night to approach.

However, it seems that their rest is over as their enemy has already arrived!

"Is that a dragon?!"

"No… It's a wyvern! This… It's an Aurora Wyvern!"

"What?! How come it's targeting us?!"

The Half-Imps recognized the beast above them. Though the shadow obstructs their vision, they could see what the creature is after seeing its figure.

"The Wyverns have never targeted us before… Wait, I didn't even see a single Wyvern up until now! What's going on?!"

"That's true… I had already forgotten about their existence… It must've been attracted by something…"

None of them could understand why this creature started showing up here. However, they at least know that they have to fight it to survive.

Reiji then saw the elders coming out as they lead their men in battle.

Most of them are carrying spears and halberd for this battle. Of course, there are a few of them who has bow and arrows but they are only those with a Master-Level Marksmanship.

After all, it can be a huge problem with their fellow villagers if they don't have a good aim, so the elders have decided to limit the number of their archers.

Then another group of about a hundred Half-Imps arrived. They are carrying a wand or a staff as their weapons.

They know that they will have to rely on their Arcane Magic to fight this creature…

"Everyone! Ready your fire magic! This is an Aurora Wyvern! We can chase it away with our relentless magic! Don't be afraid!"

One of the elders of Bhibra Village commanded.

Apparently, the barrier they made here would not be enough of stopping this creature, so instead of allowing the beast to just destroy the barrier made with precious cores or materials, they have decided to just remove it and have a battle head-on!

"Master…. This Wyvern is too strong for them. I think that many of them would die if it started attacking seriously…" Szaaz commented.

He then explained that this type of Wyvern should have an Aurora Beam, Wind-Based Arcane Magic, and physical strength comparable to Wyrms.

"Well, let's see… I think that they can handle it if they worked together…"

Reiji said as he glanced at a nearby watchtower… A young man is currently watching the battle as he held his weapon.

The two Sentient Arcana saw him lifting the weapon and aiming it at the Wyvern…

A loud shot was heard hitting the Wyvern's head! It was a shot from Mourad's Hunting Rifle!

It wasn't that effective but it still managed to distract the Wyvern and stopped it from using Arcane Magic…
