I Reincarnated As A Shinai Chapter 76

Since Reiji didn't have any storage he could place the palm-size core, he decided to dig on the ground and hide the core for now. It may have a use later on. After leaving some mark to identify the spot he hid the core, he floated again and left the scene.
Reiji decided to return to his safe spot at the top of the tallest tree and lied there comfortably.
"Urgh… That was tiring…"
He was glad that his dive was effective and killed his prey. However, he still remembers how the Ape managed to dodge his head to avoid a critical strike on its skull…
"Stronger Evil Beasts were really something…"
Reiji believed that if the Ape was not exhausted and injured, he would've put up a good fight against him.
After a few minutes of resting his mind, Reiji decided to check the Available Skills for purchase…
'I should probably get the Corrosion Resistance since it's cheap…' He remembered the status resistances that he saw before that would only cost 5 SP each. He didn't have that many SPs before so he decided to hold his SPs a bit longer.
However, it was different now that he has a lot of excess Skills Points.
"Right! Since no more new missions were coming up, maybe I haven't learned enough Skills yet!"
Reiji was reminded how his early missions had requirements like learning specific skills before he could take them…
Since that was the case, he no longer hesitated and bought the skills.
Corrosion Resistance – 5 SP
Ice Resistance – 5 SP
Fire Resistance – 5 SP
Stealth – 5 SP
He was now left with 410 SP after this. It was still a huge amount for him. He then searched for a specific skill he wanted to have.

Reiji adjusted the list and saw the skills that would amount to between 200 and 600 Skills Points. There's not a lot of them and as a matter of fact, there were only seven of them…
[ Skills Options ]
…
Sword Saturation – 200 SP
Alluring Scented Sword – 260 SP
Danger Detection – 300 SP
Shinai Cloning Technique – 350 SP
Blade Dash – 400 SP
Sword Intent – 570 SP
Sword Slave Marker – 580 SP
"Hmm… Fine, I'll purchase this for now…" Reiji finally said after confirming the details of each skill.
[ 350 Skills Points deducted. ]
[ 60 Skills Points left. ]
Reiji grinned after confirming that he now possesses the new skill.
He was a bit excited to try this out but he suddenly got curious about the most expensive skill available. Just like before, Reiji could not see the other expensive skills since it was still locked or something. However, he could still see a lot of other "affordable" Skills, and the last of them was the Void Slash that was worth 1650 SP.
[ Void Slash: Slice the space and open your dimension! ]
Reiji read the description and understood it a little bit. Void Slash wasn't just a normal attacking method but it can be used to open your own space… It can probably be used to store something or maybe the dimension was big enough to become a good practice area in itself. He wasn't sure…
"That's interesting…"
Reiji muttered after realizing his future potential.
After this eventful day, the next 5 days passed quietly. Well, not really quiet since a lot of Wild Beasts were roaming around and finding some food. However, he didn't involve himself with them and continued his observation on the ground.
[ Congratulations! You have completed the Untouchable III Mission! ]

[ You have received 50 Skill Points. ]
"Whoaa!!! Finally!"
Reiji shouted happily!
He already misses Diether since he would Take Over him from time to time so he could practice his swordsmanship skills as well. After all, he didn't want his skills to get rusted.
But because of the Untouchable mission, he wasn't allowed to be touched by anyone that could be a candidate as his wielder.
However, he was still confused since no mission was coming up… At the very least, now that there's only one remaining mission left, the guide gave him an important piece of advice.
[ Complete your last mission to be qualified in accepting the Ranking Up Quest! ]
[ Ranking Up Quest Reward: Arcana Rank Upgrade ]
"Eh?!"
Reiji was genuinely surprised after hearing this news.
Finally! His current Common Rank Arcana may change into Rare!
Reiji remembers from the lowest rank was Common followed by Rare, Unique, Epic, Legendary, and Mythic.
"So, ranking up still needs some quest, huh… I wonder what kind of test it is."
Anyway, he still has the last mission so he threw it at the back of his mind for now.
[ Hero Part I – 1/3 ]
He still has to complete the mission two more times before he could complete it.
"I guess I can't stay here in the forest any more…"
There was no way to complete the mission where he doesn't have someone he could save. He had to be proactive in this…
"But a lone floating sword looks even more suspicious… Sigh~ I guess I'll have someone help me…"
Reiji can't save people if he was just alone. Unless he became extremely strong that no one would be able to recognize or notice him while they were being rescued or something.
Whooshh!
Reiji used his ability to control his weight and made himself lighter…
Aside from that, he was really good at using his Sword Kinesis…
After a long journey, he passed through the other side of the Wailing Forest…
"Eh?"
Stealth!
Just like the Cleanse, it uses his mental strength to hide his physical appearance for 5 seconds. It was just enough since a group of Hunters just passed by. They seem to be coming inside the Forest to hunt some beasts.
After a while, Reiji then saw a village that was larger than the Farahn village. Of course, he was now floating a bit higher to avoid everyone's attention.
"Mhmm… This place looks even more lively... but Farahn seems to be more advanced, clean, and organized… The road wasn't made of stones and the houses were just placed everywhere…
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Reiji thought that there's a sword fight nearby. However, upon closer look, the banging of metal that he heard came from a working young female blacksmith.

Ars Magica
Our vision comes back into focus. Our eyes, while being able to perceive the immediate surroundings, still leave us with our minds uncomprehending towards what is actually occurring. Sure, there are definitive things that we can focus on, like the fact that we're either out upon the open sea or the open ocean, there not being much of a difference with no land in sight, as well as the fact that we appear to be upon a haphazardly constructed metal boat, whose seams are barely able to keep a hold of themselves in the crashing waves. However, that does not let us understand what exactly is causing the waves in the first place. If we were to rewind time, we'd find ourselves upon a calm sea under a peaceful sky with the only difference, being a small whirlpool that would be the precursor towards this uproar around the boat. Lightning flashes in the sky, with no clouds being near, and anyone actually manning the boat has either died towards the cause of the smashing tides in the first place, or are fighting amongst the flashes of lightning, all while trying not to become devoured, demolished, and utterly decimated by the beast roiling in the whirling waves. To better understand exactly what is happening here, there is one singular event that needs to be understood, that needs to be explained, and that is the arrival of a creature named Dave. Stepping back from current events and going towards this creature's first appearance in the world, we begin to hear the sound of water slowly dripping across rocky ground. The cavern is utterly silent except for this one constant, its cause feeding channels downwards, sloping towards cracks in the rubble along the floor from broken stalagmites and stalactites. And there, lying on top of something which had fallen over recently, judging from its cracks, is a person, the creature named Dave. His form is fast asleep, either from the impact or from an intoxication, judging from the smell upon its breath. A bright light suffuses into it for a second, giving life towards the pale skin, before it slowly dies down back to the comfortable black of the cave that it's within. Before this moment in time, Dave did not exist in the physical world. At least, not in the reality that he finds himself born into. We do not know whether or not his existence is simply a cosmic joke, or something that is being played out on purpose. All that we do know, is that one moment, the body was not in the cave, and simply formed in the next. The actual earliest time that we know Dave exists, is the interpolation of the memories of J-209, which we'll begin looking into shortly to gain context towards the coming narrative that is being written and hastily trying to keep itself written. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Warning: This story has several things which might turn its readers away. The first is that this story has shifting points of perspective. Don't worry about that previous sentence too much though, as the main character will always have a first person perspective associated with them. However, any other character from which we're viewing the story from will either be in third-person, as we are not necessarily in their shoes at the moment, or in first person, given that the narrator is an actual physical presence within the story. For the most part, chapters will be self-contained with their perspectives, so there will not be an abundance of switching perspectives within the same chapter. The most that an average reader would have to worry about is the fact that perspectives can switch between chapters. The second thing is that the main character is a bit on the 'special' side of things. He's not exactly mentally there most of the time, so there will be some times that his personality or his thoughts do not actively align with his actions. The third, and final thing of importance, is the fact that past the first couple of chapters, nothing has been planned in advance. There are arcs and plots that I want to do, want to implement, or have already been set into motion from our main character's introduction to the world, but the method that I use for my story writing and generating leads towards a bit more random chance being enabled. Basically...there's a lot of dice rolling behind the scenes. To not complicate the story further than its regular LitRPG elements, the rolls will not be publicly available. However, there will be knowledge within the author's notes on whether or not there were positive or negative critical rolls that had occurred within the chapter. You have been warned. Updates: Mondays & Fridays (Schedule permitting) Typical Chapter Length: (2,000-3,000)
