I Reincarnated As A Shinai Chapter 41

"Treat their injuries…"
Orga ordered the few hunters who came with him. He saw that the members of the Eight Thunder Claws were filled with bloody wounds and were barely standing in front of the Inferno Wolves when they arrived.
Now that they arrived and the robed men retreated, Wang Lin and the others collapsed on the ground assured that they will be safe with Orga's presence.
"Yes, Sir Orga…"
"We can also block the Inferno Wolves…"
The hunters answered as they quickly moved…
"Haa~ I don't have plans in chasing those people… Let me just deal with these wolves…"
The Hunters didn't question his decision, Orga may have considered several things before deciding to let them be…
It may also be dangerous for him since those robed men had unknown origins. The only clue they have about their identity was that they were rich enough to let these wolves die just to buy time for their escape…
Orga firmly held his cane as he confronted the wolves. However, instead of raising it to strike them, he just held it as it is and knocked the ground three times…
Thud! Thud! Thud!
To everyone's surprise, the ground started shaking up!
"What's happening?!"
"Stay calm…"
Then the ground suddenly started splitting and swallowed all the living Inferno Wolves!
It happened very fast!
The hunters couldn't say a word due to their surprise… Their mind couldn't process what had just happened in front of them.
'Is that still a Magic Weapon?'
'Is it an Arcana?'
'A three-star Hunter with an Arcana? That doesn't make any sense…'
"Continue to treat their injuries…"
Orga's voice suddenly landed on their ears as they quickly took out healing potions and sea breeze potion for burn relief. The Inferno Wolves can deal a lot of burn damage due to their fire affinity aside from the injury they can inflict through their claws and fangs…

There were still three fainted Inferno Wolves lying on the ground filled with injuries… They were the wolves that the Eight Thunder Claws defeated…
Orga made sure not to include these three when he used one of his skills to swallow the other wolves… After all, they were defeated by Wang Lin's group and their cores may fetch for a very high price…
He walked towards the three fainted wolves and assessed their status… After ensuring that they will no longer be a threat, he started to leave to return to the village.
But as he started to walk away, he suddenly gets a whiff of a familiar scent…
"The forest is getting dangerous… It seems that they're desperate to escape… We have to leave now…"
He immediately informed everyone to leave the forest but after just a couple of minutes, they were blocked by a man…
"Oh? Jerax… What brought you here?"
Orga asked as the 4th-Class Arcanist stood in front of their retreating team.
"May I ask what's the situation? We've been informed by one of the hunters to stop the trial for now due to unforeseen circumstances…"
"Yes… I would suggest that as well… I smelled a Rare Apple Lure just a while ago…"
"Rare Apple Lure?"
Jerax wasn't asking what that is… In fact, he was very familiar with the word. Rare Apple is a fruit that could make all the Beasts have a chance to evolve to a higher grade once eaten…
In short, it was a very important fruit to any beast who wanted to become stronger… The Rare Apple Lure, on the other hand, was a man-made scented liquid that imitates the fragrance of the Rare Apple fruit… It was mostly used to attract some beasts that were difficult to hunt.
However, the fragrance that Orga had smelled wasn't in a small amount! He thought that with this strong smell, even the Beasts from the inner may be attracted!

Jerax paused for a moment as he tried to weigh the current situation…
"Hmph! It's just a Rare Apple Lure…"
After saying this, he immediately retreated and used one of his special Magic Equipment to give instructions to all the 4th-Class Arcanists that were guarding the group of students…
This equipment allows people to communicate even from a long distance which is very convenient in their situation…
"There are changes in the rules of this trial… We received a report that a Rare Apple Lure was thrown somewhere here in the forest… It will attract a large number of beasts and even those in the inner region might be affected. Though it may be dangerous, it is also a good chance to get more points and complete the trial as quickly as possible…"
The other Arcanists felt that it will still be very dangerous for the young students… No one wished to have these precious seedlings perish in this trial…
"Don't worry, we'll have the 50 students stay in one camp to deal with the beasts. It will be easier that way… Together with our help, I'm sure that no one will die…"
Jerax did his best to convince the other Arcanists… He couldn't let the trial to end like this! The Wailing Forest Trial is a traditional event that must not be sullied by a mere lure…
"Alright, I will call all the students now… About the camp that we'll use…"
"Let's use the big rock that our team found, it's located at…"
"How about the large Acaia Tree? It was tall and even has red leaves… We found one when we took the eastern path…"
In the end, they decided to use the towering rock as the base camp and called all the students to gather…

The news went to Orga's ears.
"Haa~ Do you have to take it this far?"
He was seemingly talking to himself as he shakes his head in disappointment…
He wanted to just ignore this news.
However, as the leader of the Hunter's Association in this area, he couldn't let the young students and the Arcanists perish in his jurisdiction.
So he similarly instructed the willing hunters to support the students and at least lighten their burden at the frontline…

Living in Paradise
The first thing I saw when I woke up was a group of people standing over me shouting "Happy Birthday!!!". Immediately after they start debating what type of world I came from and calling me 'William'. Later on I would learn that everyone here is reborn from another world and many children come with magic or superpowers or other gifts leftover from their old lives. I came from a world that was, to me, typical modernity. To them it was pretty boaring with the only thing interesting about my world being was a higher than average tech level for a non-spacefaring civilization; technology that wouldn't even work in this new world. All I brought with me was a peculiar mindset and the strong suspicion that there must be something more to life. Once everyone started to clear out my mother took me up in her arms, explained how the world works, and then stabbed me in the neck with a knife. I got better. -------------------- This story was written from the central idea of a simple question: What if a videogame like world, with all the normal video-game staples and tropes, was actually a real world? How would that work? How would people understand the universe around them? What sort of weirdness would the world appear to have from the point of view of someone who recognizes the odd nature of the place? And finally, if left to its own devices, how would this type of world ultimately develop?
