Soul Weapon Awakening, My Weapon Is A Harmonica Chapter 21

The outskirts of the mountain range of magical beasts.
"Leader, look up!"
The dragon mercenary group, which was currently heading towards the town of Maka, seemed to have sensed an extremely dense soul power approaching their side. Just as Clyde was about to carefully investigate, a mercenary beside him cried out in alarm, interrupting his train of thought.
He raised his head.
Clyde's pupils instantly contracted, as a dense black cloud enveloped the top of the mountain range. Judging from the size of the cloud, it seemed to cover the entire mountain range.
Within the black cloud, countless lightning snakes surged wildly, and an incomparably immense pressure enveloped the top of the dragon mercenary group.
"What... is this?"
Even when faced with the attacks of hundreds of Wind Magic Wolves, the faith in Clyde's heart had never been extinguished. But at this moment, for the first time, even Clyde's voice was trembling.
Clyde had been in the mercenary group for dozens of years. He had heard many strange things, but he had never seen something of this nature. No, not to mention seeing it, he had never even heard of it. How could he not feel terrified when such a terrifying scene appeared in front of him?
"Swish swish swish."
The sound of countless creatures passing through the dense forest could be heard all around the dragon mercenary group.
Without any time to think, Clyde immediately shouted loudly.
"Formation, defend!"
Hearing the sound of the magical beasts running around, Clyde could only order his mercenary group members to surround the carriage and passively defend.
Such a large horde of magical beasts would undoubtedly be a devastating blow to the dragon mercenary group.
Just as the dragon mercenary group was on high alert, a sharp-eyed mercenary seemed to have noticed something, and his face was filled with disbelief.
"What... what is that?"
Two huge figures rushed out from a bush, but at a glance, it was obvious that the two magical beasts were not of the same animal.

"An Inferno Lion and a Thunder Tiger?"
The mercenary's eyes were filled with disbelief.
From what he knew, the Inferno Lion and Thunder Tiger were incompatible with each other. They were both very territorial magical beasts. Usually, if they encountered each other while hunting, they would have a big fight.
But now, the two magical beasts rushed towards the direction of the dragon mercenary group.
"How could the Inferno Lion and the Thunder Tiger hunt together?"
This was completely beyond the scope of this mercenary's understanding.
However, just as the members of the dragon mercenary group were preparing to receive the attacks of the magical beasts, the two beasts did not even seem to notice the existence of the dragon mercenary group.
They went around the mercenary group and ran towards the exit of the mountain range!
"They aren't hunting, they are running for their lives."
Clyde's voice rang out beside the mercenary.
Clyde raised his head and looked at the thunderclouds that shot straight into the sky and almost covered the entire mountain range.
The source of the huge vortex in the thunderclouds seemed to be around the Thunder Cliff.
Could this disaster have something to do with Copperfield?
Clyde couldn't believe it. This was a phenomenon that could be caused by a soul master who had just reached two-star. However, the intuition in his heart constantly made Clyde think of Copperfield who had been heading towards the direction of the Thunder Cliff.
"Form up immediately. Increase your speed and leave the mountain range quickly."
Clyde no longer hesitated. No matter who the thunderclouds above were related to, the only thing he could do now was to bring the members of the dragon mercenary group as far away from the thunderclouds as possible.
...
Maka Town.
In a luxurious room, a skinny man dressed in luxurious clothes was lying on the sofa. He was shaking a glass of high-quality red wine in his hand. The sparkling and translucent wine reflected the flickering candlelight in the room, behind him stood two beautiful maids who were gently massaging the man's shoulders.

The skinny man was the manager of the Cavendish Family, a noble of the world -- Ryan. Ryan was enjoying the service of the two maids.
Just a day ago, he seemed to have seen a black-robed youth in the tavern. Although he didn't pay much attention to it at the time, he felt that the youth wasn't quite right afterward. Thus, he sent two of his guards to the mountain range to investigate.
"If that youth is Copperfield, the reward I can get from the patriarch when I return to the Family this time..."
Thinking of this, a smile unconsciously appeared on Ryan's face. However, that skinny horse face of his had a wretched aura when he smiled.
"Copperfield? He's just a trash who has awakened the soul of a harmonica. Why would the Family prioritize him so much?"
"When it comes to him, there are no cultivation resources and no cultivation environment. So what if he's talented? Don't you think so, beauty?"
As Ryan spoke, he smiled wickedly and reached behind him.
"Reporting, my Lord!"
An anxious shout suddenly came from outside the door.
Ryan's good mood was interrupted, and his face was full of anger.
However, he still waved his hand and let the guards open the door. After all, it would be good news if Copperfield was captured.
After the door was opened, a messenger was standing outside the door, panting.
"Quick, what's the matter?"
Ryan's face could not help but show anger. The door was already opened, what more are you waiting for?
The messenger swallowed hard and said nervously.
"Sir, there's an extremely terrifying phenomenon outside. It might not be safe to continue staying in Maka Town. Come out and take a look."
The anger on Ryan's face grew. What kind of phenomenon could that be? How could a thunderstorm and rain destroy Maka Town?
Such a thing disturbed his mood.
Ryan waved his hand. The guard at the side of the door understood and came up to hold the messenger's arm and was about to drag him out of the door.
The messenger's face was full of fear as he hurriedly said.
"My Lord, I am telling you the truth. Please go and have a look."
Ryan ignored him and reclined on the soft couch after the messenger was dragged away.
After such a disturbance, Ryan had lost all interest in the females next to him. Out of curiosity, Ryan decided to stand up, to see what is the situation outside.
With the help of the guards, Ryan went downstairs and saw the scene described by the messenger.
The thunderclouds that blotted out the sky covered the sky above the Magical Beasts Mountain Range. Within the thunderclouds, there were terrifying energy fluctuations.
"What is this thing?"
Ryan was so scared that he fell to the ground. Without waiting for the guards to help him up, he instantly bounced up from the floor.
"Get the carriage ready, take me out of here! Quick!"
Ryan roared and trembled as he rushed to the position of his carriage.
"What are you doing? Why didn't you report to me when such a natural disaster happened?"
The guard didn't dare to say anything. He just organized the carriage silently and prepared to leave.
"Sir, what about Copperfield?"
A guard asked cautiously. After all, the family head had sent them to the mountain range just to capture Copperfield.
"Just say that he's dead. If nothing goes wrong, he should be in the mountain range. You brainless thing, look at these thunderclouds. Will anyone come out alive from there?"

But he’s not out of hope just yet. With a dash of wit, a pinch of luck, and some very creative cooking, he might just find a way to recover his family’s legacy and take back his freedom. This project is a food-themed fantasy that centers on cooking and chefs. The setting spans a wide world featuring ingredients/recipes both real and inspired by traditional fantasy. I'll eventually be publishing it as a full-length novel (or series of novels depending on length). These are the first draft chapters. I'll likely be re-writing more than once, then editing before publishing, so impressions and feedback are quite welcome. If you like the story so far and you're interested in being an early reviewer for the final product, feel free to message me. I'm looking for an artist to make some concept art and a cover (the cover shown here is just a temporary placeholder). A stand-alone novel for now, but it may turn into a series down the road.
