Suddenly, I Can Duplicate Money Chapter 3

Yun Hao could not help but lightly tap the left side of his face as he looked at Angela. He felt it throb as the memories of the incident that left his eye blind resurfaced from the deepest corners of his mind.
About a year ago, He and Angela were on a date, minding their own business as they were leisurely walking down the street when a group of thugs suddenly blocked their path. They started jeering and insulting Yun Hao for whatever reason.
Yun Hao, however, just grabbed Angela's hand and decided to walk away, not wanting to have anything to do with them. But Angela had a different plan, as she started provoking the thugs, telling them that Yun Hao can beat them with his eyes closed.
One thing led to another, and Yun Hao had to deal with them… physically. But it was just to his luck that one of the thugs was actually a cultivator in the Early-stage of the Mortal realm. He was able to beat the others with ease, but as soon as the cultivator stepped in-- it was over.
He was able to dodge the cultivator's barrage attacks at first and was even able to throw in a couple of punches. But alas, he was shown the difference between a normal human and a cultivator. The man he was fighting wouldn't even budge no matter how many hits he took, while it only took one hit to neutralize Yun Hao to the ground.
But it didn't end there, while Yun Hao was helplessly pinned down on the ground, the cultivator slowly placed his finger on Yun Hao's forehead, then proceeded to slice his skin with his sharp nail. Yun Hao could do nothing but scream in pain as the cultivator dragged his finger from his forehead and all the way to his chin.

Yun Hao didn't notice it at first due to the shock… but his left eye was blinded in the process. He only knew of it when he woke up in the hospital, alone.
Zhang Angela did not even visit him even once while he was recovering, he couldn't even call her, as he didn't have a phone. The only one that visited him was his coach, who took him off the boxing team and told him that his scholarship was taken away because of fighting in public.
All he had left was his girlfriend, but it was as if she disappeared from the face of the earth.
And now, suddenly, she was there.
Yun Hao quickly looked at himself in the car's rearview mirror, fixing his hair and making sure the huge scar on his left face was well hidden. He didn't need to do much, as even with half of his face covered by hair, his handsome looks couldn't be hidden.
He then checked if his breath smelled nice-- it didn't. But there was not much he could do now.
He quickly got out of the car, with so many thoughts that he wished to tell her.
Where was she all this time?
How has she been?
Why did she come out of the hotel? Was she facing some kind of trouble?
Yun Hao wanted to tell him that he missed her so much, and if she was facing any problems, he would gladly take in the burden for her. After all, she was all that he had left in this world.
He had no parents.
He had no friends.
He has no future.
All that was left…
...was her.
And so, as soon as he closed the door of the car behind him, the excitement of meeting the love of his life overwhelmed him, truly. And it was evident from the way Yun Hao waved his hand to greet him.

"!!!"
But before he could call her name, a man suddenly hugged Angela from behind and kissed her on the neck. Yun Hao was about to rush towards her, thinking that someone was harassing her.
But to his surprise, Angela turned around and passionately kissed the guy on the lips.
"A… Angela?" Yun Hao could only stutter as his steps stopped in their tracks.
"Hao!?"
Angela quickly let go of the man she was hugging as she saw Yun Hao. "Why… why are you--"
"I told him to come."
Before Angela could finish her words, the man she had just locked lips with stepped forward and interrupted her.
"What!?" Angela raised her voice, "But we agreed we won't let him know until he graduates!"
"Pft, he's going to get expelled before that happens," the man burst out in laughter as he heard Angela's words, "Even earlier, he got into trouble with the teacher."
Yun Hao's breaths quickly became heavy as he finally realized who the man Angela is with-- his best friend, Long Yazhu. He was too focused on Angela so he didn't even look at the man, but as soon as he heard his laugh, he quickly recognized who he was.
"Yazhu!" Yun Hao bared his fangs as he rushed towards Yazhu, but before he could even take 3 steps, 2 men blocked his path.
"Get out of my wa… you?"
Yun Hao was going to push the two men away, but his eyes widened in shock as he recognized one of them-- it was the cultivator that blinded his eye. Yun Hao's eyes wandered everywhere as his already confused mind threatened to explode.
And soon… everything clicked. The two men that blocked his path were wearing the uniform of the Long family's security guards.
And seeing the smirk on Long Yazhu's face, it would seem that Yun Hao's guess was right. He and Angela meeting the thugs a year ago was not an accident. Everything…
...Everything was set up by Long Yazhu.
"...Why?" Yun Hao breathed as he looked straight into Yazhu's eyes, "Why would you do this to me?"
"Do what?" The smile on Yazhu's face grew even wider as he saw the slight moisture building up on Yun Hao's eyes.
"We were friends, Yazhu."
"Friends!?" Yazhu once again burst out in laughter as he stepped forward, gesturing his guards to move to the side as he stood right in front of Yun Hao, "I will become a Cultivator soon, and you will always remain a poor has-been, Hao. You and I are in different worlds, we always hav-- Ukh!"
"Young Master Long!"
Before Yazhu could finish gloating, he felt pressure on his neck as he was suddenly lifted in the air by Yun Hao with one hand. The 2 guards wanted to rush and save their young master, but one wrong move and Yun Hao might snap his neck.
"Then maybe I'll drag you down to my world," Yun Hao let out a silent growl, breathing in Yazhu's neck,
"Should I…
...cripple you as well, then?"

Madness Led by the Hands
‘Great, no… splendid. It was for naught.’ ‘Naught? Depends. If your desire is to send an army of killers our family’s way, yes indeed. If it’s plain survival you seek, then no.’ ‘They don’t coexist?’ ‘What… don’t tell me you’re still all groggy from the fall. Perhaps in novels, but real life is much tougher–––many more times a drag than anyone can possibly imagine. If dusty history is not a reliable teacher for you, then the pandemic surely took that place. At least that one has the advantage you needn’t be literate to savvy how reality always trumps imagination.’ ‘Whatever you say, whatever you say. So… what now?’ ‘Now? Isn’t it obvious? Now we shall survive. And live a good life.’ ‘Ohh… pretty much everything here has something against this little weird wish of ours. Might you consider?’ ‘Then pretty much everything here is a goner.’ ‘Hm, I don’t like the sound of that. Too much trouble, you see. I’d prefer laying low somewhere safe.’ ‘…nobody told you it’s mutually exclusive, no–––or did you forget about that too?’ ‘Fine, then I wish my future enemies all the best.’ ‘They are undeserving of your pity.’ ‘Of course not. That unlucky bunch won’t ever comprehend the reason behind their demise. Just let me smoke in peace and offer my condolence in advance.’ ‘Idem, let me study alchemy, unobstructed by all, if possible. This also includes you. By the way, are you sure you smoke to offer condolences? It seems like an excuse to me.’ ‘I-it is none. Plain truth, you see?’ ‘Seriously, why did I even ask...?’
