Chapter 1027: Settled
The navy of the Gilded Kingdom had always been known as the best navy in Anril, and the fact that they had dominated the Endless Ocean caused them to become arrogant and condescending. Even though they had seen Lin Li coming out of the rift with their own eyes, and knew that he was definitely extraordinarily competent, they were not afraid at all.
At the same time that they revealed their intention to fight, the hatch behind them opened, and dozens of people walked out, all of whom were level-21 and level-22 Legendary powerhouses. Other than the Legendary Sword Sages and Legendary-mages, there were also more than 10 clergymen who dressed like priests.
Lin Li had already learned about the Illuminati from Gavin and the others, and when he saw the emblems on the chests of the clergymen, he immediately knew that they were the priests of the Illuminati. As there was still very little information about the Illuminati, Lin Li could not tell from the emblems what their level was. However, Legendary powerhouses were not insignificant small fries.
Despite being surrounded by tens of Legendary powerhouses, Lin Li’s expression did not change in the slightest. He simply sized them up before shaking his head slowly. Although he did not say anything, they could tell the contempt in his gaze.
The people of the Gilded Kingdom were infuriated. Throughout this period of time, they had been giving the various forces of the Breezy Plains a hard time, and had also plundered various ostentatious and valuable objects from the so-called top forces. Hence, they did not take the forces of the Breezy Plains and their so-called powerhouses seriously.
They did not continue to probe Lin Li’s origins. Instead, they stood in front and brandished their swords at Lin Li. The mages and priests behind also began chanting incantations. Although they did not take Lin Li seriously, troops were still troops. When facing their enemies, they would still exert their full power out of habit. After all, belittling one’s enemy would be akin to suicide.
However, when faced with the magic spells and Combat Energy, Lin Li waved his hands like he was swatting some flies. Countless spatial rifts suddenly appeared densely in the space around the people of the Gilded Kingdom, trapping all of them.
The deck was immediately filled with shrieks, but the dozens of powerhouses had no means of resisting at all. They were immediately sliced into shreds, but due to the suction force of the rifts, all the blood and bones were sucked into them.
After the densely packed spatial rifts disappeared, there was no longer any human on the deck except Lin Li himself. Besides, the ones who’d vanished were not only those on the deck. Even though the gigantic battleship was assembled with alchemy, it required more than dozens of people to operate. Besides, how could the Legendary powerhouses who were of high status operate the battleship alone?

In fact, Lin Li’s original intention was to sink the ship directly into the sea, but after stepping on the deck, he found it rather interesting, and decided to wipe out the crew, and then keep the entire battleship intact. Besides, in the warehouse of the battleship, there were plenty of resources that they had plundered. Perhaps they wanted to take more before returning, but Lin Li was the one who was at an advantage in the end.
Lin Li flew up into the sky and waved his hands, after which the giant battleship was sucked into his Endless Storm. At the same time, a spatial rift appeared in the space, and Lin Li walked over, leaving the peaceful sea.
As a Guru of alchemy, Lin Li felt that the gigantic battleship of the Gilded Kingdom was lacking in many areas, but the foundation of the entire battleship was not too bad. The Gilded Kingdom had really invested a lot of money into its construction as the materials used were all of superior grade. Although Lin Li could also create a perfect battleship, and the wealthy Tower of Dusk could also afford those materials, there was no need for him to waste his time and effort creating another one himself if there was a free one.
Lin Li planned to modify the gigantic battleship, and then make it a marine fortress that could protect the various businesses by the sea. Although there was only one battleship, Angelano and Lin Li could make modifications to it and make its combat power increase by tens to hundreds of times. With the battleship around to patrol the seas, the Gilded Kingdom could forget about roaming freely like they were in their own backyard.
After resolving the issues in the Breezy Plains, Lin Li once again exhibited his power to teleport; he managed to reach the area near the port of the Felan Kingdom that had been attacked in just one step. The people of the Gilded Kingdom probably thought that the Felan Kingdom would not be able to deploy a decent navy. Hence, although the battleship here was away from the port, it did not stray too far.
Now that Lin Li already had a battleship, he could completely protect the businesses of the Tower of Dusk after some modifications to it. Hence, he stopped thinking about getting battleships. Besides, what he wanted to do this time was not entirely to resolve the troubles. Most importantly, he wanted to save some of the Felan Kingdom’s pride. To put it bluntly, he wanted to assert dominance.
Hence, not only did Lin Li want to destroy the Gilded Kingdom’s battleship, he also wanted to make a big deal out of it. Even if he could not invoke fear within the people of the Gilded Kingdom, he could at least make them have some scruples, and not think that they could do whatever they wanted just because they had the advantage in the form of their battleships.

Through the spatial rift, Lin Li arrived at the port, and used his mental strength to find the battleship of the Gilded Kingdom. He then arrived in the sky above the battleship in one step. This time, he did not waste any more time on deck. He held the Helios’ Scepter in one hand and the Book of Eternity in the other.
The Book of Eternity was not only a book of magic notes written by Geresco. It was also a powerful magical weapon. Every page of the Book of Eternity was made using a leaf of the Tree of Eternity, and the ink that was used was the original sap of the Tree of Eternity. If the Book of Eternity truly exploded with full power, it would probably not be inferior to the power of the seven pieces of the debris of the stars.
In the past, even when he had just stepped into the Sanctuary-realm, Lin Li was not qualified to use the Book of Eternity at all. It was only after studying in the library for this period of time that he finally learned how to use the power of the Book of Eternity from Geresco’s incarnation. However, even then, Lin Li could not exert the power of the Book of Eternity with his current power.
Lin Li, who had appeared in the sky above the Gilded Kingdom’s ship, did not give the people on the battleship a chance to react at all. The Book of Eternity opened on its own, and the gemstone on top of the Helios’ Scepter emanated a dazzling ray of light, making it seem as if a sun had risen above the sea.
After casting the magic spells, Lin Li waited for the light of the Helios’ Scepter to dim before waving his hand and causing a spatial rift to form in the space. He did not bother looking at the situation below at all. At this moment, the Gilded Kingdom’s battleship was engulfed by a massive iceberg, making it look like a large amber-white mass.
Through the incredibly pellucid ice wall, the deck of the battleship as well as the naval warriors of the Gilded Kingdom—all of whom appeared relaxed, clearly unprepared for the sudden destructive attack—could be seen. Although the iceberg was in a tropical region, it could remain solid for billions of years, and had simply become a wonderful scenic spot for the port. It would probably attract the attention of many.
It had only been a few minutes since Lin Li left, but Macklin and the representatives of the various forces of the Breezy Plains had yet to recover from the shock. They did not know why Lin Li left all of a sudden, and they were still waiting to discuss with Lin Li the plans to deal with the Gilded Kingdom.
However, just when the crowd suddenly snapped back to their senses, intending to ask Gavin and the other senior executives of the Tower of Dusk about the situation, they suddenly saw a spatial rift appearing in the place that Lin Li had left. Who else could it be except Lin Li?
“Felic, where did you hurry off to?” Macklin was seated right beside Lin Li. Hence, he immediately asked that question curiously when he saw him returning.
Although the others didn’t ask questions, they were all clearly filled with curiosity when looking at Lin Li.
“Oh, it’s nothing. Everything has been settled,” Lin Li answered Macklin casually after returning to his seat.
“What? What do you mean everything has been settled?” Macklin had yet to recover from the shock, and he thought that Lin Li had gone to handle some matters of the Tower of Dusk. Hence, he continued, “Good that it’s been settled. Do you think we can chat about the matter regarding the Gilded Kingdom now?”
“I mean, the matter regarding the Gilded Kingdom’s battleship has been settled,” Lin Li explained after seeing that Macklin and the representatives of the other forces seemed to have yet to figure it out.
“It’s already settled!?” Macklin suddenly stood up and finally understood what Lin Li meant. Even though Lin Li was the one who said that, he could not quite believe his ears. Only a few minutes had passed, and even though he was a Sanctuary powerhouse, it seemed impossible to cover such a large distance in a short period of time, let alone fight the enemies.
As for the representatives of the various forces of the Breezy Plains, they all seemed to be in disbelief after hearing Lin Li’s words too. On one hand, they felt that Lin Li, the Sanctuary powerhouse, would not deceive them, and on the other hand, they felt that it was far beyond their imagination.

Note for new readers: This novel is a work of fantasy that includes magic elements, thus— I strive to implement the reality of a world where humanoids hold supernatural powers and construct hierarchies based on their power levels. Inevitably, such a novel includes many negative elements which may traumatize some readers, such as and not limited to: rape, profanity, detailed violence, and sexual acts. The Main Character is a former assassin and thus more of a villain than an anti-hero, she shall value only what grants her maximum benefits, even over the lives of others. She is antisocial and prefers to work alone, she doesn't consider others as comrades, only as means to an end, and will have zero problems discarding them herself. Mana Soul
Like many others across the multiverse, Markus was chosen as this world's hero to fight against the steadily approaching cataclysm. Only, something went horribly wrong. Left with only a handful of memories, Markus has spent years clawing his way up from poverty and officially registered as an adventurer to try and make his fortune. Unfortunately, Artificers are the least combat-capable class of the four classes, and Markus has no connections to join an established party. With the fate of countless worlds hanging in the balance, a chance meeting will determine the course of a war nearly as old as reality itself. Warning: Markus has trauma induced amnesia and will occasionally 'act out of character' or make 'poorly thought out' decisions. These events are rather obvously telegraphed abd represent conflicts between his current personality and the one repressed alongside his trauma. Just something to bear in mind. The story will bounce predominantly back and forth between the primary protagonists every couple of chapters. The time stream is linear, so events are not revisted/rehashed/retold through the narrative format. Characters may comment on something that has occurred, but that's different. Just giving a heads up.Chapters will be around 7-9k and updated 1/week on the same schedule as my other story Ogre Tyrant over the weekend.[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
