Chapter 732: Godly Soul Potion

A star point was destroyed, and the Gates of the Abyss that had gradually solidified immediately became a bit illusory, while the Fire Demons behind the Gates of the Abyss also roared repeatedly. Meanwhile, the tall and large Gates of the Abyss also disappeared together with the Six-pointed Star Array. In the entire palace, there were only a few Fire Demons fighting the Lord of Nightmares left.

As Macklin felt the effects of getting mana infused into him, he fell onto the ground and panted continuously, pointing his staff at the Fire Demons in front, and said to the other mages, “Ignore me for now. Dammit, kill them. They actually put me through so much trouble and torment.”

“Haha, didn’t you say that you’d die with no regrets since you’ve already experienced the power of the Legendary-level?” Angelano gibed.

Macklin rolled his eyes, and said, “Do you think I like the feeling of almost getting bombed? Why don’t you try it?”

With the participation of the mages, the Lord of Nightmares and the Crimson Dragon soon managed to get rid of the extra Fire Demons, restoring the entire palace to its original state. The four Legendary powerhouses battled the Fire Demon King.

Unfortunately, the Fire Demon King was no longer at its most powerful, unlike in the beginning. After all, it was not really at the Sanctuary-realm. It had to open the Gates of the Abyss and fight the four Legendary-mages at the same time, which caused it to lose more than half of its power. Under the siege of the four Legendary powerhouses, the Volcano Domain of the Fire Demon King was continuously compressed, and the flames that surrounded him had gradually become weaker.

Andoine’s Thorn Domain had spawned numerous plants which climbed onto the body of the Fire Demon King, making it impossible for the flames to set it afire so easily. Rosen moved his staff, and a magic storm blasted toward the Fire Demon King, roaring continuously, while Lin Li condensed all of his Angels of Light and Dark into the Light and Darkness Sword, which he swung forcefully onto the large wounded body.

The blazing flames no longer gave off a tinge of life as the body of the Fire Demon King fell onto the ground.

Everyone finally heaved sighs of relief when they saw this. At this juncture, they simply stood rooted to the ground and forced themselves to stay put, out of energy.

However, at this moment, Angelano scurried towards Lin Li and stared at the Fire Demon King that had already collapsed on the ground. He softly said to Lin Li, “Remember, you already owe me a huge favor.”

“Tell me first, where did this guy come from? Weren’t you three the most powerful fighters under Osric? Where did this guy pop up from!?” Lin Li could not be bothered to talk about the favor with Angelano, since they had already reached a consensus. The menacing Fire Demon King made him feel rather curious.

“Speaking of it, I do know the Fire Demon rather well. It’s such a good thing to stay in the abyss, yet he wanted to come out here to court his own death. I really can’t figure it out.” Angelano shook his head and sighed, but there was no look of pity on his face at all. Instead, he seemed to be gloating.

“So he really was Osric’s subordinate? Seems like the relationship between you and him isn’t great,” Lin Li asked.

Angelano looked around, and softly said to Lin Li, “The Fire Demon is Osric’s servant. He was summoned from the 66th floor of the abyss, and has been working for Osric for countless years. He had also made countless heroic achievements, and was considered to be the only one who had seen Osric’s glorious existence. In fact, he even knew many secrets that none of the three of us know.”

“You guys have stayed here for so many years, but you didn’t know that he was here too?” Lin Li said mockingly. Angelano and the other two who died were said to be the most loyal warriors of Osric, and had been guarding Osric’s mausoleum for numerous years. Yet, they didn’t know about the Fire Demon at all. It was truly a huge joke.

Upon hearing Lin Li’s sarcastic tone, Angelano’s face turned a little sullen, and he angrily retorted, “We heard that Osric had terminated the contract with him before he died, and let it go back to his own world. Yet, it turned out to be fake news. Osric is really sly. He actually allowed that thing to stay in this world even after his death. Damn it. Fortunately, I didn’t come in here on my own back then.”

“Hah, he was probably guarding against you guys,” Lin Li said casually, but he still had some doubts deep down because he felt that there seemed to be no sign of the existence of the contract after judging the Fire Demon’s performance just now.

Previously, everyone was fighting in their Magical Domain, while Lin Li was in the Fire Demon King’s Magical Domain. He didn’t feel like the Fire Demon King was restrained at all, and reckoned that he should’ve been completely free. Moreover, Osric had been dead for so many years. Even if he had not terminated the contract previously, the contract should have already been up by now.

If his inference was correct, the Fire Demon should not have been imprisoned here… but why was it staying there? Surely it couldn’t be as simple as wanting to use the Gates of the Abyss to set his own kind free? Could it be related to the Eternal Furnace? More and more questions which probably even Angelano couldn’t answer appeared in Lin Li’s head.

If that weapon had appeared just now, there would have been absolutely no chance for any of you to survive.” At this point, there was a trace of fear on Angelano’s face. It seemed that that weapon could still bring him horror even after 1000 years.

“The most powerful weapon?” Lin Li was shocked. The most powerful weapon that Angelano mentioned immediately made him think of the last of the seven pieces of the debris of the stars, which was also his most important goal here. In that case, the Fire Demon King might really have had something to do with Nothingness.

Moving on, everyone could safely pass through many traps and end up here mostly because of Lin Li too. Even the Goblin Angelano was captured and won over by him. I think this magical crystal should be given to the Alanna Guild of Magic.”

“No, no, I know how great I am. I don’t need you to remind me. I didn’t know anything about the Six-pointed Star Array, we can’t accept this thing, right, Mr. President?” Macklin repeatedly waved his hands to refute while asking Aldwin for his opinion. However, he clearly wasn’t giving Aldwin the chance to decline.

Lin Li smiled, and said, “Master Macklin, you went all out and risked your life just now. Along the way, the mages have also suffered great losses. If you don’t take the magical crystal, surely we can’t give it to the Supreme Council?”

“Enough, Macklin, drop the pretense. If you give the magical crystal away, you’d probably never sleep well again,” said Andoine who found that Lin Li’s words made sense, even though he could not bear to give the magical crystal away, either.

Rosen had initially prepared plenty of words to say, and wanted to compete with Lin Li for the ownership of the Fire Demon King’s magical crystal. He nodded reluctantly and agreed to go with Lin Li’s suggestion.

“What about you, Felic?” asked Macklin who decided to stop being hypocritical despite feeling like he owed Lin Li something.

Lin Li pointed at the Fire Demon King’s corpse, and said, “I will take this corpse with me.”

“How can that do!?” Macklin, Aldwin, and Andoine all exclaimed almost at the same time. Although the corpse of the Fire Demon King also had a certain value, it was worlds apart from that of the level-24 magical crystal.

“Rest assured, I do have uses for it,” Lin Li said while walking straight towards the corpse of the Fire Demon King. When he passed by Macklin, he whispered, “Congratulations.”

Slightly stunned, Macklin immediately cursed, “Damn it, I knew I couldn’t hide anything from you, kid.”

Although the use of Magic Array to infuse mana into his own body had been a great burden on Macklin’s body, it’d also given him a taste of Legendary power. In the first place, he’d already been at the peak of level-19, and now that he had experienced Legendary power, it could be said that he would soon reach the Legendary-realm.

Lin Li walked to the corpse of the Fire Demon King and took out a bottle of potion from the Ring of Endless Storm, which he then forced into the mouth of the Fire Demon King.

He might just kill you!”

Lin Li had indeed given the Fire Demon King a Godly Soul Potion, which was a Master-level potion that was more valuable than other general Master-level potions because its greatest effect was for saving one’s life. If someone had been seriously injured and was dying, the potion would help keep their soul intact.

Drinking the Godly Soul Potion would allow the injured person’s soul to be kept intact in their body for 72 hours. In those 72 hours, the person could be revived if a way to cure them was found. As long as the soul was intact, it would not be impossible to revive someone whose body had been chopped into half. If all else failed, they could still be transformed into an Undead creature.

After listening to Andoine’s words, Lin Li looked at him with a smile, and said, “I just need his soul. It doesn’t matter if he can be revived or not. As for the contract, there will be no chance.”
