Chapter 731: The Fire Demon King

Lin Li waved the Helios’ Scepter in his hand, and dozens of Angels of Light and Dark immediately condensed into the Light and Darkness Sword. The Light and Darkness Sword leaped over the Fire Demon King’s Fire Demon Domain and darted towards the gate, where it instantly killed the Fire Demon that had just climbed out.

However, the beheaded Fire Demon which had just been slain was devoured by its companions in the blink of an eye, after which more Fire Demons dashed forward and frantically ripped apart the gate while roaring. The crazy and violent atmosphere made the humans certain that the descent of the demons would bring a terrible disaster to the world of Anril.

Staring at the scene revealed by the door, even Lin Li and the other Legendary powerhouses could not help but feel a cold chill down their spines. However, under the obstruction of the Fire Demon, none of the four Legendary powerhouses could do anything to stop the tragedy from happening.

While everyone watched, the door of the abyss gradually formed, and a Fire Demon finally roared and rushed out, followed by the second and third one. More and more Fire Demons broke free from the gate, causing everyone to be terrified. Staring at the Fire Demons that were continuously surging out, even the several Legendary powerhouses could not help but feel flustered.

Macklin waved his staff, directing the mages to attack the Fire Demons, and loudly shouted, “Come on, snap out of it. Do you want to wait here for your death!?”

“That’s it, teach them a lesson. Chase them back to their kennels!” Macklin exclaimed while standing in the middle of the mages, continuously issuing commands to the mages. The magic storm them swallowed the Fire Demons one after another.

However, though he seemed to be yelling in a domineering manner, Macklin already knew that it was impossible for him to chase the Fire Demons back to the Abyss with just his own power. Although there had already been several Fire Demons that got killed by the ravenous attacks of the mages, the number was insignificant compared to the number of Fire Demons behind the Gates of the Abyss. The only thing the mages could do now was to slow down the speed of the Fire Demons surging out of the Gates of the Abyss before it was fully open. There seemed to be no effect on the final outcome.

Lin Li and the rest who were besieging the Fire Demon King were stuck in an entanglement with him, and were unable to pull out to block the Gates of the Abyss. Although there had been direct collisions between the Magical Domains during the previous battles, which had weakened the power of the Fire Demon King, the terrifying battle power that was almost at the peak of level-24 was still not to be trifled with.

At this time, the Fire Demon King no longer remained still like before, and instead launched a frightening attack on everyone. Anyone who wanted to flee would be subjected to his full-force deadly attack. It was an existence that was almost in the Sanctuary-realm, and no one there could survive after his fatal blow.

While coping with the brutal attacks of the Fire Demon King in the Volcano Domain, Lin Li watched the changes in the battlefield anxiously. He could see that Macklin was ordering the mages and destroying the Fire Demons that were rushing out of the Gates of the Abyss.

“Damn it, Master Macklin, just ignore the Fire Demons for now. Hurry and close the Gates of the Abyss lest we get devoured by the hundreds of thousands of Fire Demons,” Lin Li yelled in panic. Since no one could take the time out, Macklin and the mages were the only ones who could seal the Gates of the Abyss.

“I know we need to close that damned gate, but you must tell me how to do it first. Not everyone is as pervertedly smart as you are!” The Fire Demons were continuously dashing out of the Gates of the Abyss, making it hard for Macklin and the mages to deal with the situation. He knew that without closing the Gates of the Abyss, all of their efforts would go in vain no matter how many Fire Demons they killed. Wouldn’t that be helping them open the gate?

“Six-pointed Star Array. Destroy the Six-pointed Star Array, and the Gates of the Abyss will dissipate.” Lin Li knew that it would be hard for Macklin to seal the Gates of the Abyss, but he had no other choice but to rely on him now.

Upon hearing Lin Li’s words, Macklin immediately commanded the mages to lean towards the apex of the Six-pointed Star Array. He then yelled, “What’s next!?”

Only then did Lin Li remember that Macklin was only a level-19 Archmage who would have a hard time if he wanted to destroy the Gates of the Abyss leading to the 66th floor of the abyss. His strength alone was a major problem, but fortunately there were other mages to help him. At the thought of this, Lin Li immediately shouted, “The Magic Array. Get the mages to form a Magic Array and concentrate all mana on one person. Give him a huge bombing!”

While Andoine was stopping the Fire Demon King, Lin Li took out the Summoning Lamp and summoned the Lord of Nightmares together with the Crimson Dragon, which he ordered to help the mages block the Fire Demons that were swarming out. As soon as the Lord of Nightmares and the Crimson Dragon left, the Fire Demon King began ripping apart the plants that were in his way. He then leaped towards Lin Li again.

Fortunately, at this moment, there was only a limited number of Abyssal Demon Dragons rushing out of the Gates of the Abyss, and the Lord of Nightmares and the Crimson Dragon managed to buy some time for the mages to lay the Magic Array.

To the mages, laying the Magic Array was not a tall order, but it wouldn’t be easy for everyone to concentrate all their mana on a single person. “Okay, okay, got it,” Connoris answered.

The Goblin Angelano who’d escaped far, far away maneuvered the alchemy machine to scurry over. He yelled, “Hey, Felic, I can help you, but you’ll owe me a big favor.”

“Damn it, I refuse to believe that you can outrun this group of Fire Demons with that machine of yours,” Lin Li chided. However, he knew that he did not have much time to say anything now. Hence, he nodded, and exclaimed, “I won’t mind even if I owe you 100 favors!”

Upon hearing Lin Li’s answer, Angelano did not say anything anymore, and immediately ran towards Macklin, pointing at one of the points of the Six-pointed Star Array that Macklin had begun destroying. With Angelano’s instructions, Macklin finally knew what he had to do, and the stardust began to dim.
