The Adventures Of The Young Master Chapter 467

The clan head thought of this. He sighed and said, "Okay, we'll do it your way. But if you aren't able to kill the emperor, then we have the right to back off from it."
"That's no problem." Jin Rou smiled, "If I don't manage to kill him, then feel free to think that our deal is off."
Hearing this, the clan head was relieved. He thought that Jin Rou would do everything to keep them in check. But it looked like he was wrong. Anyway, he just needed to his job as Jin Rou was going to do the most part.
In actual fact, his clan was going to reap so many rewards and benefits if this plan worked. Just imagine, being the next imperial clan to everyone here was giving the clan head extreme pride and joy. After all, they were finally released from the clutches of these people.
Furthermore, if that young man was stronger than everyone else, then their position would be stabilized. No one would dare to do the same thing they did. If this were to succeed, this would be the first time that a ruler clan had been overthrown.
"Since it's settled, I'm going now." Jin Rou stood up and looked at the clan head stretching his arm, "It's nice having a business deal with you. I hope we will have a long time contract with this."
"That will depend on how things will go tomorrow." The clan head said with a smile, clearly indicating something.
"But of course." Jin Rou laughed a bit and left.
After the first elder saw Jin Rou left, he immediately approached the clan head and said, "Do you think it's the right choice to choose?"
The clan head didn't answer immediately. He looked at the deep sky first and said, "Nico, you are worrying for nothing. Do you think that if I decline, we can take him on?"

"Why? Our Tabler Clan has the toughest defense to boot!" The first elder was surprised by the clan head's question, "Even the emperor needs to walk away with distorted expression because he couldn't destroy our barriers."
"The emperor and that man is different. There's an actual vast different between them." The clan head said, "The former is but a 13 crowns. But the latter has the surpassed the zenith realm. So, tell me. Do you think we have the chance to survive if we face such monster?"
"Surpassed zenith realm... do you mean that man is a...!" The first elder was stupefied.
"Yes. He is a universal law." The clan head confirmed this speculation when he accepted the handshake with Jin Rou. He was experienced enough to determine if a person was hiding his real power or not by touching them.
"!!" These words horrified the entire circle of elders. Earlier, they were planning to fight Jin Rou but the clan head stopped them. It looked like their clan head have already had some speculations thus he stopped them. If he didn't, their heads would roll for sure and their clan might face extreme genocide.
"That's why this is the right choice." The clan head said, "Besides, isn't it a good thing? That a universal law is backing up our clan. That's worth a billions of years of luck. Whether he has ulterior motives or not, if he wants to kill us, he will not hesitate to to do that."
The elders gulped a mouthful of saliva. They were grateful because their clan head had eyes. Because if not, they might be the sinners of their clan.
---
Jin Rou had gone for a random big tree to rest on. He wanted to meditate and gather the power of heaven and earth before the battle. Though this battle might be troublesome, he was confident in killing the emperor.

A few hours passed, it's already midnight and Jin Rou was still meditating. Then suddenlya figure appeared out of nowhere.
Jin Rou opened his eyes a bit and didn't reveal any expression, "I didn't expect to see you again and in this kind of time at that, Princess Shale."
"Jin, let me ask you something." The princess didn't beat around the bush and asked, "Are you the perpetrator behind my brothers' and mother's death?"
Her voice was shaky as if she gathered so many strength to ask this.
"So what if I did?" Jin Rou asked as if it was a small matter.
"Are you nuts?! Have you gone out of your mind?!" The princess shouted like a wild beast with rage and hatred, "Why would you people of my family? What's in it there for you? You want to rule our universe, is that it?"
"Your universe is too small for me to be happy." Jin Rou said with an ice-cold tone, "And you are out of this mess. You should stay away from the rest of your family. I'm going to collect debts tomorrow. So try to avoid me."
"You want me to watch my father die by watching by the sidelines?" The princess asked with a nervous voice. She wasn't expecting to receive such words from Jin Rou.
"That's right. Watch by the sidelines. You don't need to die for a crappy family like you have." Jin Rou said as he closed his eyes once again.
Jin Rou paused for a moment and continued, "And I'm telling you, don't cross swords with me. This is my warning for you because I don't want you to die a useless death."
"It is your choice. But remember, I have already warned you." Jin Rou said, "Your life and death has nothing to do with me. Whether you live or die won't change the fact that your family will be gone for good."
Hearing this, hearing how stone hearted Jin Rou was talking, she could feel that her illusions of him had suddenly broken down and shattered into pieces, passing and being carried by the wind.
For some reason, it made her hear break and bleed that she wanted to cry for an unknown reason.

Luck And Chronomancy
Time Magic is the best magic as everyone knows, although there are lots of unique Talents in the world. Most people only remember Haste because it is hard to get to higher Phases of Chronomancy. That is still enough to make the Talent iconic. A lucky enough Aleatory Talent can position you for greatness or leave you languishing in obscurity. The only true equality in the world is when that glowing message pops up at 8 years old. Even if it doesn't activate until you are an adult at 16 you still know. Sure you can find a new dungeon spawn and get another chance at a rare Talent, even this one, but you have to already be ready to delve into the *Far Wilds*, which is far easier with wealth or family power. This is the story of where my good fortune took me and the difference it made, even among a party of 7 others including an Arcanist. It is a journey of magic and monsters but also math, which some think is actually worse. Luckily I was born with Intelligence and Focus as my personal traits, and my parents were scholars. Of course Chronomancy can also be a frontline combat talent. Versitility well beyond other Elder Talents like Gravity, Abstraction, or Arcana. Might could have worked for me, too. I also met a runaway princess. All the best adventures have a princess. She hated being a noble and we didn't get married but it still counts. Besides she really filled out our front line. All that Leadership training came in handy. I still don't know where she's from. Who cares? How well Haste goes with giant hammers is what's important. I never learned much about anyone in the party, except the one I grew up with. I'm not a people person. I just wanted to optimize dungeon clearing time. *******Story Details******* No romance, politics, or traumatizing content, slice of life, or even dialogue. 1st person narration, like a guide/adventure log. 2000-7000 words a day, maybe 40-60% rpgish combat log with some reasoning on combat decisions, with the rest character Talent discussion and progression stuff. 8 person party with a decent variety in roles. Party members usually have 2 primary functions. Told from the support/control Chronomancer's perspective. Each party member will have 6 Basic/Background Traits, then 3 actual Talents with abilities. Capstone from their Educational Institution, Arbritrary as a gift from the temples, and Aleatory which is decided at birth, revealed at 8, and activated after adulthood at 16. Aleatory Traits ignore requirements and are random why is why they are so important. They'll gain new Talents from finding Dungeons to consume in the *Wilds*. Mature dungeons in cities can provide *Challenges* to raise the Phase of a Talent, up to 3 times from 1 to 4. Each character will get to roughly 8 non-Trait Talents. Attributes come exclusive from Talents, are required by Talents, and provide various effects as well. I designed about 220 Talents with abilities, 4 in each of 4 phases. "Traits" are just Attribute stuff. I'm not sure how many will be detailed in the story, more than 100 for sure. I used Talents because I want to be free of the legacy of tabletop. Half those rules are just because of the limitations inherent in a pre-computer ttrpg. This story mostly uses combat Talents, although like 1/3 of the 220 are for crafting and other society and economy stuff. If you really wanted to be a Thief you might take Intuition, Awarness, and Might for Basic Traits and Deftness, Manipulation, and Trickery for Family/Education. Then you'd pick Acrobatics, and Climbing for Educational Capstone and Arbitrary traits. You Aleatory Trait might be Shadow(Light/Dark) Magic, Umbramancy. A Bard might swap Dexterity for Charisma, Music for Acrobatics, and have gotten Illusion(Shadow/Sound(Air/Force)) for their Aleatory Trait.
