Liu wei was so happy when he saw Xiao li. He believed that they are destined to be together since they are always meeting each other.
Xiao li said, "Thanks for today, liu wei. I need to go back home"
Without waiting for Liu wei's response, she turned on her heels and immediately moved forward. Holding Zhi Ruo's hand, Xiao li was wearing heels and was walking faster.
Suddenly, she tripped and stumbled backwards. Xiao li stumbled and closed her eyes with the thought of falling, but a strong arm shot out and hugged her from behind.
"Xiao li, are you alright?"
Zhi Ruo who had a worried look on her face asked. The moment she saw that Xiao li was about to fall, her heart skipped a beat, but when she saw her fall into Liu wei's arms, she heaved a sigh of relief.
Xiao li, who was still very scared did not know what was happening, but she felt her back hit a broad, firm and strong chest.
With a little bit of security, Xiao li's tensed body began to relax.
At that moment, Liu wei looked down at Xiao li's feet and frowned. He quickly pulled away and was about to pick her up.
"Lili, your feet is bleeding"
Hearing Liu wei's worried voice, Zhi ruo began to panic. She glanced at Xiao li and saw that her face had twisted due to pain. She quickly squatted and touched Xiao li's feet, "Liu wei, she is bleeding furiously"
Liu wei could not also hide the worried expression on his face. He reached out and was about to pick up Xiao li.
Xiao li immediately took two steps backwards and shook her head, "No need, I can walk on my own"
Seeing Xiao li's firm refusal, he didn't insist, but instead he bent down and placed her feet on his palm. He knew that there were some things that he and Xiao li couldn't go back to, but he wasn't ready to give up.

He politely said to the shop assistant, "Can you please bring me a bottle of iodine"
The shop assistant reacted and quickly went to look for the iodine.
Liu wei then said gently, "I'll disinfect your feet first, otherwise it might be infected.
Outside the mall---
In a Lamborghini that was glowing with a dazzling black light, a man in a black suit was looking at the two people in the mall with their heads leaning against each other.
His face was livid with anger. His sinister voice rang out, "Xiao li, you are becoming more and more capable. Good. Very good" He said this with anger.
With a bang, Jingyi Wang punched the seat angrily. An Jun and the chauffeur were so scared that they almost jumped out of the car.
An Jun was so scared that his heart was pounding wildly, but he dare not make a sound.
At that moment, the car door opened and Jingyi Wang's slender figure climbed out, and then he walked into the mall. Xiao li heard the sound of footsteps and looked up. She was stunned for a moment when she saw Jingyi Wang walking towards them.
"Ah Jin!" Xiao li called out his name in surprise.
Jingyi Wang stood in front of them and suddenly turned his head to look at Liu wei. He said coldly, "Xiao li, you allowed another man to touch you?"
Before Xiao li could explain herself, she was carried by Jingyi Wang. Liu wei saw this and was so angry that his whole body was trembling. He was completely enraged and was about to go forward, but he was pulled back by Zhi ruo.
She said, "Liu wei, you shouldn't involve yourself in their matter. Now that Jingyi Wang is here, you shouldn't worry about anything"
After Zhi ruo said this, she walked away. Liu wei endured it for a while before he finally suppressed his anger. He watched the car disappear with heavy heart; his eyes down cast with a hint of sadness. He couldn't bear the thought of someone who is better than him with Xiao li.

He wanted to tear Jingyi Wang apart.
He was so angry that he couldn't bare it again. He knew she loved him, but the thought of her being with another man made him sick. He knew he shouldn't have cut off the wedding immediately, but it wasn't his fault.
He was so angry and disappointed.
---
Jingyi Wang walked into the villa with Xiao li in his arms. He gently placed her on the couch and lowered his head to look at her feet.
"Xiao li, how can you be so careless? Do you really not know how to walk properly. When I saw your injury, I was so worried about you"
Jingyi Wang said as he gritted his teeth angrily. He raised his head and said to the maid standing at the side, "Bring me the first aid box"
The maid bowed respectfully and went to get the first aid box. Soon, the first aid box was brought; Jingyi Wang took the iodine and applied it on her injury.
As he did that, he reprimanded her like a child, "Look at you now, look at how pale your face is. Do you really want to die?"
His words made her angry, but she still smiled. She lowered her head and peeped at his face. His thick eyebrows were furrowed and his lips twisted in anger.
"What are you looking at?" he asked when he saw that she was looking at him.
Xiao li heard this question and burst into laughter immediately. Hearing her laugh made his face turn uglier; He reached out and grabbed her chin harshly.
"Why were you with Liu wei? He was holding you in his arms and you allowed it, hmm?" His eyes suddenly flashed with hostility when he remembered Xiao li laid in Liu wei's arms. She seemed so comfortable in his arms and didn't even pull away.
The moment Xiao li felt the cold air exuding from his body, she trembled slightly.
"Let go of me. Jingyi Wang, what are you doing? You are hurting me!" Xiao li was stunned and pushed him away.
She then stood up and walked up the stairs in a hurry. She knew that she was in trouble and Jingyi Wang won't let her go this time.
She entered the bedroom and closed the door behind her. In an instant, the door was pushed opened and Jingyi Wang stepped in. His eyes were blazing with fierce intensity focused on her.
"Turn around" Jingyi Wang ordered, his voice was dominating and cold. Xiao li refused to turn around and snorted angrily. She wondered why he had to be overbearing all the time.
Seeing that she wasn't going to turn around, Jingyi Wang's face was fiercer than before and his eyes had darkened with malice.
He reached out and turned her around forcefully. Her shoulder tensed when she saw that he was just a breath away from her. He was standing so close that she could even feel his hot breathe on her face.
At that moment, she felt her brain go hazy.
She blinked as she subconsciously stepped back bit by bit.
It was when her back touched the cold wall did she realise that she was trapped between this man and the wall.

Cheep!?

He survived when she, too, vanished, leaving behind nothing but a cryptic note. He was devastated, but he kept moving forward as best he could. Cancer didn’t put him down, and after suffering through several rounds of chemotherapy, Charles Monroe thought that things might finally be looking up. That is, until a virulent strain of ebola swept through the city. With his immune system strained as it is, the odds don’t look good for Charles. It claims that it needs his help and that it can give him a second life, one far away from all the pain he’s ever known. So, Charles answers as any reasonable person would. He says no. Charles isn't ready or willing to die yet. But, as with everything else to this point, even his choice to keep fighting is taken from him all too soon. With no other option but the dark oblivion of death, Charles chooses to make a deal with the spirit of a distant world that's seeking a wild card in its battle against the gods, monsters, and mortals that threaten its existence. Someday, he’ll find where his family went. Someday, he’ll uphold his end of the bargain and hunt beings powerful beyond anything he’s ever known. Someday, he might even – hatch? “CHEEP!?” Things to Know: -Cheep!? Will release on a minimum weekly schedule. -After a backlog of chapters, posting will slow, but in the interim you can expect a chapter a day up until roughly 25 chapters. -This story at times will potentially carry some heavy moments, but the tone is intended to be lighter overall. -There are invisible game-like elements in this story, but nothing so concrete as a dedicated gamelit novel. -I personally have some issues with anxiety, so I may or may not interact with the community a lot. I'll try if anyone has questions, but I can't guarantee that it'll be consistent. -MC is a non-human lead, and will never actually become human. Romance will potentially happen between side-characters, but not with the MC. -MC IS NOT THE ONLY VIEW POINT. I have to put that out there because people sometimes hate alternate PoV's in a story. None of them will be filler, and they'll be there only to give a little bit more nuance and meaning to the world that the MC has stepped in, or is about to be imminently important. I'll try to keep them down, but this also helps to prevent me from burning out getting trapped in one view. -Most of all, I hope that this story is enjoyable to you, and that you have a great time reading it! -Written by Michael Adams, Cowritten/Edited by Summer Kent

Seventeen years ago, the Chromagnum fell from the sky. It's impact shattered the world, and brought the society to its knees. As humanity slowly pulled itself together, they realized that the Chromagnum brought with it a poison that corrupted the living. Abominations began cropping up around the crash site. Monsters with powdery black skin, and glowing orange eyes. Monsters who seemed hell-bent on consuming. Destroying everything in their path, the monsters swept eastwards towards the kingdom of Elendial. A war raged. And humanity crumpled. Retreating deep within their strongholds as the land became ruled by the corrupted creatures spawned by the Chromagnum. Then a leader arose, and humanity rallied. King Magnus drove back the slavering hordes and fought to bring peace to the land once more. However our story does not chronicle King Magnus’ rise to power. Nor does it detail how he collected the elites of the kingdom and forged them into the sharpest of blades. No. Our story tells the tale of young Ril Renar. An orphan. Alone, rejected by society. Ril travels across Elendial searching desperately for a family to call his own. Along the way he will find friends and struggle mightily to convince them to make a space in their hearts for him. Book 1 - Complete (0-30) Book 2 - Ongoing (31-) This story is a softcore progression classic fantasy with LitRPG elements. The story is about searching for family, love, loss, sacrifice, and of course power. The content warnings are mild.

The Emperor's Chef
"Cook like your life depends on it, kid. Because it does." Charles had an enviable future lined up for him. Training from the age of five by some of the finest chefs in the world. Schooling at a top culinary academy in the capital. An honorable position as heir to House Boulier, a line of merchant-lords who have charmed the rich and powerful with their cooking for centuries. And in a single night, it all burned to ash. When the outbreak of war destroys his hometown, Charles is charged with escorting his family’s sacred treasure—a recipe book passed down for untold generations—out of harm's way. But his simple mission grows complicated when he’s captured by one of the most feared battalions in the world: the Spears of Mercy. Life as a prisoner in their war camp is brutal and uncertain. Charles has few allies and even fewer strengths to rely on. Only his skills in the culinary arts, honed over a lifetime in the kitchen, are deemed useful enough to keep him alive another day. But he’s not out of hope just yet. With a dash of wit, a pinch of luck, and some very creative cooking, he might just find a way to recover his family’s legacy and take back his freedom. This project is a food-themed fantasy that centers on cooking and chefs. The setting spans a wide world featuring ingredients/recipes both real and inspired by traditional fantasy. I'll eventually be publishing it as a full-length novel (or series of novels depending on length). These are the first draft chapters. I'll likely be re-writing more than once, then editing before publishing, so impressions and feedback are quite welcome. If you like the story so far and you're interested in being an early reviewer for the final product, feel free to message me. I'm looking for an artist to make some concept art and a cover (the cover shown here is just a temporary placeholder). A stand-alone novel for now, but it may turn into a series down the road.
