The next day, Xiao li noticed Jingyi Wang's behaviour was odd. In the room, he propped his head up on his elbow and gazed down at her.
At the dining area, he refused to eat his food and stared at her without even blinking his eyes.
Xiao li felt his behavior was odd today and felt uncomfortable under his gaze.
At a point, she asked him, "Jingyi Wang, did something happened today? Why are you staring at me like that?"
As she spoke, she forced out an awkward smile.
"Because I find your face so attractive"
That was his simple reply.
"..."
Xiao li heard this and almost fell from the chair. The corner of her lips twisted immediately.
This man would always find an excuse to give for his every action. Anyways, she herself knows that her face is so attractive.
Jingyi Wang saw that she was staring at her and urged her to eat, "Eat your food"
Xiao li lowered her head and continued eating heartily.
After she was done eating, she lean her back and rubbed her tummy with a satisfying smile.
Jingyi Wang was ready to leave, but he changed his mind. He made a call and strode into the study room.
Xiao li watched him leave and stood up. Wanting to relieve herself from frustration and anger she felt towards Jingyi Wang, she decided to walk around.
As she was walking, something caught her eyes at the corner of the room. Her eyes narrowed at the object as she walked towards it.
In the past, Xiao li used to play the piano. She often played it in front of her parents when she was young. When she was done playing, she would ask her parents who she played the piano and they would give her a thumbs up.
This made her more confident and experience when it comes to playing the piano.

When she was eighteen years, she sat in front of the piano and performed in front of her classmates. They never believed that she could play, because they believed that she, as the heiress of a rich family shouldn't involve herself in these things, but they were wrong.
That day, Xiao li played skillfully with her eyes closed. She let herself feel the keys, then the music started to fill the air, caressing it and feeling the flow.
By the time she opened her eyes, she was dumbstruck. She opened her mouth in awe. Her classmates and teachers were all crying.
Why?
Just as she was about to talk, the room exploded in applause, then they all began to stand up one after the other.
Xiao li was astonished by their reactions.
She finally reacted; she stood up and bowed to them with a smile.
Xiao li smiled as the memory passed through her. She raised her leg and slowly walked towards the piano. At that moment, all she wanted was to completely immerse herself into playing the piano.
But before that, she caressed the piano, her fingers slowly moving on the piano.
She sat down on the stool where she took a deep breathe before raising her hand. She pressed one key, two keys, three keys, four until her fingers created a melancholic symphony.
She was familiar with the notes, then the notes changed; slow, fast, slow fast. She allowed her fingers to dance on the keys.
Gradually, the room was filled with the sound of happy melody. She used to play the notes when she was young. Somewhere along the way, she closed her eyes and the memory flowed in.
The memory of a young girl surrounded by crowds. The young girl's eyes were closed as she played the piano. Those who heard her playing stopped to take a look. They were all surprised to see a young girl wearing a shirt, a pair of jean and a sneakers.

Her hair was tied into two long ponytails. She had no makeup on, making her look so innocent and ordinary. No one knew she was Xiao li, the heiress of the Xiao family.
They only saw her as a low-class person who plays piano.
She gave the key a last tap and breathe heavily.
All of a sudden, she heard a rustling sound behind her.
She was stunned.
She slowly turned her head and found An Jun clapping.
Did he watch her play?
At that moment, An Jun reached out for a handkerchief in his pocket and wiped his fake tears. He said, "Young miss, I never knew that you can play the piano. You played so well that I feel like crying right now"
"..."
Xiao li was shocked.
She was about to wave her hand when she heard a cold, deep voice. She shivered uncontrollably.
"An Jun, where have you been? Where did you go?"
An Jun heard Jingyi Wang's voice and trembled. He walked forward and said excitedly, "President Wang, I saw young miss play the piano, so I decided to listen. She is so good"
Upon hearing An Jun's words, Jingyi Wang shifted his cold gaze towards Xiao li. All he saw was a woman sitting on the stool, her big eyes staring at him in surprise.
When An Jun noticed that Jingyi Wang didn't say anything. He suddenly thought, 'If young miss played the piano for young master, he would be happy'
He put on a proud smile and said, "Young miss, why don't you play the piano for young master"
Xiao li heard this and was shocked. Her gaze shifted to An Jun who nodded at the piano.
An Jun was sure that if Xiao li played the piano for Jingyi Wang, he won't be mad again.
At that moment, Xiao li felt like ripping An Jun's big mouth. She looked at Jingyi Wang who stood still with his hand in his pants.
Suddenly, she immediately straightened herself and a sweet smile flashed across her face, "Sure, I will gladly play for Jingyi Wang. I hope you enjoy it"
Hearing this, Jingyi Wang frowned.
At that moment, her fingers tapped the keys and they started dancing on the keys. She opened her mouth and started singing.
"I pray a flower pot falls from the window sill and knocks you on the head like I'd like to
I pray your birthday comes and nobody calls
I pray your brakes go out running down a hill
I pray you are flying high when your engine stalls
I pray..."
At that moment, An Jun felt a freezing cold glance hit him. With a paled face, he turned his head to look at Jingyi Wang and caught the deadly ice-cold glare on him.
Cold sweat broke out on his forehead. He thought, 'What's young miss singing?'
He was so scared that his entire body was trembling. He had done a stupid thing. Jingyi Wang's facial expression changed from indifferent to stunned, then to shocked.
Never had he seen so many expression on Jingyi Wang's face before. He was frightened, knowing Jingyi Wang would not spare him this time.
Without giving a care or caring to stop, Xiao li continued singing her song for Jingyi Wang and at the same time, Jingyi Wang's face turned cold. He glared at the woman in front of him. His anger was slowly filling the brim of his patience.
After Xiao li was done singing, she stood up and quickly ran out. She decided to run away as fast as she could.
An Jun watched her run away with tears in his eyes. At that moment, he felt a burning glare on his body.

Dungeon's Path
The only places I have posted the story and allow it to exist are on RoyalRoad, Scribblehub, and my Patreon. So the world ended. Whoopsie? We didn’t even see it coming. Quite literally as it came at us faster than the speed of light. Don’t worry though, it got better. Also, I am not joking about the world ending. Most people say that and mean humans are inconvenienced for some reason. Nope, all matter disintegrated at the atomic scale there for a few moments. Apparently the local universe wasn’t actually stable? Don’t ask me to go into too much detail. It would require both of us to have a few more college degrees than sense, and I at least lack them (both the degrees and the sense). Anyway, the energy/matter/wibbly wobbly strings were at a local minimum and not the universal minimum. Basically, what we took for sea level was actually a nice little mountain lake and when the dam busted so did, well, everything. Now here is where things go a bit off track with what normal meant before. You see magic is real, qi is real, gods are real. Not on old Earth mind you but souls pay little attention to time and space so we dreamed of it. In fact, the closer the shift in reality got to Earth, the closer our dreams got to the new reality. This is basically me tip toeing around the fact that it was a ‘System Apocalypse’. Reality became a video game, I became a dungeon, and this is my story. Doyle Huxley just wanted a normal life but as the above might clue you in on that just isn’t in the cards. He gets to experience a “Path Based System Apocalypse” and some early paths he takes, both literally and figuratively, lead to him becoming a dungeon. The aim is to release chapters once a week on Friday. Cursing will be avoided and no naughty adult action will take place in the story.

Bound by a celestial contract neither one can negotiate, their fates are all they've ever known. Cross-posted on Wattpad and Ao3. For fans of fantasy YA story beats if they starred adults instead, 1920s inspired setting, lots of banter, larger cast of characters, somewhat soft magic system. Completed, but being actively edited prior to posting! I'm the only captain on this ship, so mind any errors.
