"Where have you been?" There came Liu Wei's warm voice. "Do you know how worried I was yesterday when I found out that you were missing?"
Xiao li bit her lower lip. "I'm sorry for making you worry so much about me"
Liu Wei said gently, "Where are you? I will go and pick you up"
Xiao li turned her head to look at Zhi ruo and said, "I'm with Zhi Ruo and we are in the coffee shop at A district"
"Okay, I will be right there" he said and hung up the phone.
It didn't take Liu Wei twenty minutes before he arrived at the coffee shop.
"Li?"
Hearing a familiar voice, Xiao li turned her head and saw Liu wei coming towards her. She quickly stood up and ran to hug him. The two hugged for a few seconds and then let go.
Liu Wei smiled at her. "It's a good thing you are safe. I guess you must be very hungry. Let's go back home"
Liu wei was always considerate, which made Li feel warm in her heart.
Liu Wei, the third young master of the Liu's family. He is the son of the Chung company and his family is known as the fifth richest family in G city.
Liu Wei had been her childhood friend and they have dated for four years since high school. The both of them loved each other so much and after all... They would be getting married in a few weeks to come.
Holding her hand in his, they left the coffee shop.

As soon as Jingyi Wang entered the Villa, his parent called him.
Wang shu, Jingyi's mother looked at him and said, "I heard about what happened. You slept with a woman"
Naturally, it was very easy for them to know what their son did.
After all, they are the Wang's.
Jingyi Wang said, "Mom, what happened was only a mistake"
"I know. I know it was only a mistake. Your father and I have thought of it, You should marry that girl" Wang shu said.
Jingyi Wang's face darkened. He looked at his mother and said coldly, "Mom, just because we slept together doesn't mean I should marry her"

"You have to. Since you have touched her, you have to marry her. You are our only son. You are not getting younger anymore and We are not getting younger also. We need a grandchild. You won't want us to die before you get married, right?"
"Mom! Enough!"
The calm and gentle Wang Yong, Jingyi's father who has been listening to them suddenly slapped his hand on the table fiercely. He looked at Jingyi with cold eyes.
"You must marry tat girl whether you like it or not. You can't just take advantage of her and then forget it"
Jingyi Wang became frustrated. "Take advantage of her? Do you mean I took advantage of her? That woman ran into my room last night and then... She seduced me"
"And so what? You still slept with her. You must marry that girl..."
Jingyi Wang glared at his father. "I won't" Then he turned and left.
Wang Yong stood up and yelled. "You dare walk out on me? How dare you? I don't care about whatever you say. You are still going to marry that girl"
Jingyi Wang pretended as if he didn't hear his father and walked out of the room.
Wang Yong turned to his wife. "You saw what your son just did? Right? He just walked out on me" his eyes flashed with anger.
Mean while...
On the other side of the city, Liu Wei brought Xiao li home. Yu yan was very happy when she saw her daughter. She knew her daughter will eventually come back home.
Xiao li was just a simple girl, brought up in a simple household. She was always seen as naive and an innocent girl.
She is the heiress of one of the richest family of G city and her parents loves her alot. Even though she is the daughter of a famous business man, she chose another path for her career. She is an employee in F. G group.
Yu yan grabbed her daughter's hand and said in a worried voice. "Where did you go yesterday? Zhi ruo said you suddenly disappeared and she couldn't find you when she looked for you"

Xiao li quickly said, "Mom, I'm sorry. I was trapped in a store room last night and I couldn't get out because no one was there to save me"
Yu yan looked at her daughter from up to down. "Are you okay? Does your body hurt? I'm just so happy because very soon, you will be getting married. You have to protect yourself because your body is priceless"
Xiao li's heart ached.
Her body is priceless truly.
But her body...
How will she tell her mother that she slept with a strange man?
Yu yan stroked Xiao li's hair and said proudly. "I know that you have a good girl and you have showed us that. I am sure Liu Wei would also be proud of you"
Xiao Li looked into her mother's eyes and her heart ached the more. "Mom, I am very tired. I will be going to my room now"
"Okay"
Xiao li quickly rushed into her room. Closing the door of her room, she dropped her bag on the bed and walked into the bathroom. She removed her clothes, looked at herself in the mirror and saw the marks on her body left by the man.
She reached out her hand and touched the marks.
Thinking of what happened that night, her heart ached. She has betrayed liu wei.
She entered the bathroom and scrubbed her body hard as if the marks would wash away, but she could not wash away the marks left by the man.
After bathing, she walked out of the bathroom and changed into her clothes. She lay down on the bed to rest for a while.
She thought of what happened yesterday's night. She could not blame the man, but herself or she could still blame it on her drunkenness.
She never asked him his name and he never asked hers either.
Maybe it would be better that way.
She thought 'The less i know, the better it would be for me to walk away from what happened that night'
She just wanted to live a happy life. Now that she would be getting married soon.
The fact that she had betrayed Liu Wei sickened her whenever she thought of it.
How would she tell Liu wei that she slept with a stranger.
As she thought of all these things, she drifted off to sleep.
---
In the villa, the 'Swoosh' of water flowed down the shower head, splashing against Jingyi Wang's lean body.
He was thinking about the events that happened yesterday's night.
Yesterday's night...
Thinking about it, his eyebrow tightly furrowed.
That damn woman.
Jingyi Wang would like to die rather than marry her. She is just a stranger and he don't even know her name.
Turning off the tap, draping a white towel around his waist, he walked out of the bathroom. Putting on a dainty suit, he walked out of the villa.
A bodyguard quickly opened the back seat door for him and he climbed into the car. The driver turned on the ignition and drove the car out of the villa.
In front of A.B company, there stood An Jun waiting anxiously. As soon as the car stopped. An Jun immediately stepped forward to open the back seat door.
Jingyi Wang climbed out and walked into the company. An Jun made an emergency report as they walked into the elevator.
"You have to sign a financing contract with B.B.O bank of the United States at twelve"
Jingyi Wang did not respond.
An Jun turned his head to look at him. "President, I said..."
"That woman... what's her name again? Xiao li? I want you to get every information about her. Where she lives, her family, work place... everything and I need it now"
An Jun looked at him speechlessly.
When did he become so interested in this woman?
Is he...
"Ah, okay, President. I will do that right away" An Jun said and turned and left.
Jingyi Wang walked into his office. He sat down and lean back into the chair. He tapped his finger on the desk as he continued to repeat.
"Xiao li"

8 128By Myself
The diurnal monsters worship the day, while the nocturnal creatures rule over the night. But nothing opposes two folks more than living on the same land at the same time. Humanity prospered until it reached a pre-industrial age where the largest cities observed the first long chimneys made in brick whereas the smaller villages still had to cut the forest's logs with their axe. But to get to this flourishing era, something had to be sacrificed.
8 183The Paths of Magick
Credits: Story by Xcaliburnt. Cover Art by @Bervolart. Magick, the power to bend the laws of reality. All because of a mystical substance known as mana. Mages follow the Paths to achieve power, for there is no more addictive chase. Each Path winds and twists, forcing mages through the flames of adversity and challenge. Though the operative word is "path", the reality is far less straightforward. Instead of a road, Paths are like the branches of world trees, erupting into the heavens, intertwining, and ending in sharp snaps. Only the strongest reach the sky. There are several Paths, and many Ways to walk them—variations of the same Path, and like the stars, they are endless. Magick is the sacred flame that scours the fat, rendering the truest self. Superfluous flesh melting away to show the skeleton of one's being. A chance for ascension—apotheosis. Though not every mage works to godhood, if they survive long enough, It is inescapable. Witness the lives of those that tread the knife's edge of self-destruction. Each one intertwined in their search for answers, revenge, and, most of all: power. These individuals have all lost something precious—irreplaceable—and In search of filling the void left behind, they have taken up the mantle of a mage. Per aspera ad astra. Ad mortem vel divinitatis. (Through adversity to the stars. To death or divinity.) There is no consistent release schedule except my consistent inconsistency. Besides, there’s like a thousand pages worth of content, how can—you already read it? Goddamn. Oh, and there is a very long hiatus between volumes as I intend to edit and rewrite a lot. What to Expect: This story is progression fantasy, so expect a healthy dose of training. It's also heavy on slice of life, and it isn't entirely overarching-plot-driven. Expect characters to live their lives, and not always be on some quest to save the world. There's a lot of magic theory and discussion about it in the story. So, if you don't like impromptu lessons on sorcerous theory by traveling monster slayers, this might not be for you. But if you do like it, rejoice! For there is a lot of it. This is also heavy on prose, purple as a bruised eye. I use outdated, uneccesarily collegiate-level terms and play around with the writing style just for the heck of it. I find it fun to wax and wane poetic, and that might grate on you—I don’t plan to change this aspect of the Paths much if at all. Onto the viewer discretion is advised parts: This is grim-dark/ grim-heart. Take the tags seriously. There will be combat scenes that are brutal and horrifying. Fights to the death tend to be. This is a tale about medieval mercenaries (quite literal killers for hire), man-eating monsters, and eldritch gods beyond the material plane. Beside that, there will be traumatic events that are best left unread. I do not detail certain acts I find heinous enough, instead leaving some parts unwritten but still alludded to if not outright stated; there is simply no graphic narration thereof. This is not for the faint of heart.

I have someonelse's memories but none of it makes sense. It's like looking through a photo album that doesn't belong to you. But still you can't help but wonder: Who were the memories meant for, if it wasn't supposed to be mine?
