Chapter 224: Waking Up

Dugu Heng just happened to enter the ward at this moment. He was completely stunned.

His pitch-black pupils dilated sharply. “What do you mean?”

If not for the fact that he was somewhat fearful of Dugu Yusheng, he would have already grabbed him by the collar.

He truly wanted to know what he meant by that phrase “the true Ms. Dugu”.

Dugu Yusheng just shoved his hands into his pockets and smirked. “I mean exactly what I said.”

“Get him out of here!” The Dugu Family matriarch pointed at Dugu Yusheng in rage. At this moment, she had already forgotten how scary Dugu Yusheng was. “How dare you come here to disturb Little Wu. Have you truly no respect at all for the Dugu Family?!”

Dugu Heng’s face muscles tightened. He glared at the Dugu Family matriarch coldly. “Shut up!”

“Why should I shut up? Did I do anything wrong? Little Wu and Master Yu were supposed to get married but that Su Huiqing stuck herself in between them. She even tried to kill my Little Wu. Not only are you not seeking revenge for Little Wu, you are helping an outsider bully us!”

The Dugu Family matriarch was now in familiar territory and was surrounded by her own guards.

It must be said that people from the Dugu Family protected their own. Both Dugu Heng and the Dugu Family matriarch were the same.

It was just that they were protecting different people.

“According to what I know, Dugu Wu is not part of the Dugu Family at all. Marry Master Yu? I say, you two are rather shameless, aren’t you?” Dugu Yusheng narrowed his eyes.

“What nonsense are you spouting!” Little Wu is the only young mistress of the Dugu Family!” The Dugu Family matriarch did not believe Dugu Yusheng at all.

“Bears the true bloodline of the Dugu Family?” The Dugu Family matriarch was dumbstruck.

She turned toward Dugu Yusheng. “You must be lying to me. That girl is a bastard child. How could she possibly be from the Dugu Family…”

“Whether she is a member of the Dugu Family, we will know after performing a DNA test. We are in a hospital after all.” Dugu Yusheng looked at Dugu Heng.

Dugu Heng was feeling very out of sorts.

He always felt that he would never like Su Ruohua’s daughter.

But the moment he saw Su Huiqing in person, he found that for some inexplicable reason, he didn’t hate her at all.

Sometimes, instincts never lied.

But after hearing Dugu Yusheng’s words, Dugu Heng realized that there could be an explanation for it.

He tried to take out a cigarette, but his hands were shaking.

Dugu Heng leaned against the wall, a rare smile appearing on his face.

Chi Yue pulled back the computer chair. With a grave expression and lowered eyes, he started typing on the keyboard.

His white fingers flew over the black keyboard. Distinct white against black.

Seeing him in this state, everyone in the room quietly retreated.

Everyone knew that when Chi Yue got like this, it meant he was going to launch a cyber attack.

Those slender, fair fingers danced over the keyboard. Chi Yue smirked when he saw the IP address on the screen.

“Have you got it?” Apollo’s voice sounded out from the communications device on his ear.

“Someone has already destroyed the surveillance footage.” Chi Yue pressed the communications device, the smirk on his face turning somewhat vicious.

Apollo was shocked. “What do we do then?”

Chi Yue hacked into the opponent’s firewall and delivered a trojan horse into the system. “I promised the captain that I will never again abuse my abilities as a hacker like before. Now… I probably can’t keep that promise anymore.”

Right after he spoke.

“Click!”

He pressed the enter key.

The destroyed digital files were restored.

The wiped-out footage once again appeared.

Chi Yue looked at the figure on the screen. His eyes hardened.

A moment later, he pressed his communications device again. “Apollo, accept the file.”

Apollo, who was still on his fighter jet, opened his palm pilot and accepted the file which Chi Yue sent him. His eyes were cold and harsh. “I knew it was her!”

After hearing Dugu Yusheng’s words, Dugu Heng was the most eager of them all to have someone obtain a sample of Su Huiqing’s DNA.

A DNA test usually took some time.

But because it was Dugu Heng, the hospital fast-tracked the process and the results came out after just a few hours.

Dugu Heng received the results with trembling hands.

He read the results word by word.

Every single word.

It was written very clearly. Su Huiqing was related to him by blood.

The Dugu Family matriarch thought that Dugu Yusheng must have been bluffing her. But noticing Dugu Heng’s reaction, she snatched the results from his hands and read it. She was completely stunned.

She never expected such an outcome.

So all along, she had been trying to kill… her very own granddaughter?

It had actually been a guess on Dugu Yusheng’s part. So he was also shocked at the results.

The three of them stood there in solemn silence in the hallway.

Until Dugu Wu’s shrieks could be heard from the ward.

The Dugu Family matriarch jumped in fright and rushed in.

Dugu Yusheng raised his brows and followed her in. His eyes were cold. It was good that she had finally woken.

“What are you trying to do?” The Dugu Family matriarch stared at the golden-haired man in fear. He had come in by breaking through the window.

Dugu Heng just narrowed his eyes. He recognized the person standing before him. “Apollo?”

Apollo couldn’t be bothered talking to these people. “Master Dugu, you better not try and stop me. I must bring Dugu Wu away.”

At his word, the people standing behind him all aimed their weapons at Dugu Heng.

“Where is Bai Yi?” The Dugu Family matriarch was still faithfully protecting Dugu Wu. “Why do you want to bring Little Wu away?”

“Why? We want to know why she secretly brought a bag of explosives into the potion room! Old Madam Dugu, I warn you not to seek out Bai Yi. If you do, he will definitely lock Ms. Dugu up in the International Prison.” Apollo brushed back his golden hair as he smiled viciously.

“Explosives?” The Dugu Family matriarch’s hands trembled.

How was it she didn’t know anything about that?

“This has nothing to do with Little Wu. You cannot take her away.” The Dugu Family matriarch shielded the panicky Dugu Wu.

Dugu Yusheng heard Apollo’s words loud and clear.

He glanced at the Dugu Family matriarch with his usual lazy expression. With a mocking sneer, he said, “Old Madam, are you sure you want to protect Dugu Wu and ignore your true granddaughter?”

“No…” The Dugu Family matriarch didn’t know what to do.

She had always wanted Dugu Heng to marry and give her grandchildren, but he refused.

As a result, she adopted Dugu Wu and raised her as her own granddaughter. After so many years, it was natural for her to develop true feelings for Dugu Wu.

Gideon was still in a dilemma over the problem with Su Huiqing’s brain.

The medical equipment in the emergency room all started to beep and chime. All the nurses were in a fluster.

Only Gideon turned toward the bed.

The person on the bed fluttered her lashes. Those dark, bright eyes slowly opened.

A faint, devilish aura came over that lovely face.

“King, is that you?” Gideon’s hand shook.

Su Huiqing propped herself up. She turned to look at Gideon, the corners of her lips curling upward.

Under the fluorescent lights, her face was clear and lovely as always. But that smile was devious to the extreme.

She easily leaped off the bed and brushed back her mussed-up hair. Eyes lowered, no one could see their profound depths.

Gideon heard her low voice. “Yes. I am finally back.”
