Chapter 51: I Will Gamble With You

“That’s right.” The men dressed in black looked at his phone before answering. “Mr. Chi Yue seems to care a lot about the person operating the casino.”

Yu Shijin slightly raised his chin, his features looking especially distinct under the dim light.

“So, the person from the Underground Casino…” The man dressed in black secretly took a glance at the rearview mirror.

The mirror showed a cold and stiff face whose thin lips were pursed.

He looked elegant yet cold at the same time.

The man dressed in black instinctively lowered his head down.

Yu Shijin did not retract his gaze and continued staring at the alley.

He could see the smile on the girl’s face who was standing at the back. It was a cold yet dangerous smile.

Standing under the sunlight, she seemed a little casual. Her slender figure looked as beautiful and as smooth as those drawn on paintings.

And for a long time, Yu Shijin stared at the cold smile on Su Huiqing’s face before he retracted his gaze. “No need. Let’s go.”

“What?” The man dressed in black was a little stumped. “That’s…”

“I said no need.” Yu Shijin raised his eyes and said that in a stiff tone of voice, causing the surrounding atmosphere to turn tense.

The man dressed in black immediately stepped on the gas and the car left with a loud screech.

“Wait a minute… Why do I feel like this Miss Su seems a little familiar…”

“If you want to save Gu Yihai, pass fifty million yuan to Brother Wei at the Underground Casino.” The white man blocking Gu Li’s way watched the black car disappear from the alley and his expression changed. He slightly raised his hand and stopped his men from going forward.

“But you can choose not to come, too.” The white man lit a cigarette and raised his eyes to meet Gu Li’s eyes. “That is if you want to wait and collect your uncle’s dead body afterward.”

After he had said his piece, he left with his men.

Only Huang Mao stayed behind.

Yu Xiangyang scratched his head. “Aish, why didn’t you leave just like you said you would… Shit!”

The whole alley fell into silence.

With lowered eyes, Su Huiqing walked towards them without a change in expression.

When Yu Xiangyang thought she was about to walk past Huang Mao, she suddenly stopped in front of the man. She bent down slightly and in a deep voice, she said, “Tell me. Why did those people from the Underground Casino want to find Gu Li for?”

Although her voice was deep, it did not hide the coldness in it.

Huang Mao trembled but he came clean about it.

Well, the situation was simple. Gu Li’s uncle, Gu Hai, was an avid gambler.

As such, he owed the casino a large sum of money and the casino only gave him a week to pay it for. With that said, it was already the last day of the week.

As Gu Yihai only had one kin left, Gu Li naturally had to pay the debt.

If it wasn’t because of Su Huiqing and the others’ sudden appearance, the people would have taken him away.

Gu Li tightened his grip on his school bag while his figure remained as handsome and tall as usual.

He wore a peaceful and indifferent expression on his face, making him look more mature than those of his age. “Thank you.”

After that, he picked up his school bag to leave.

“Wait! Are you going to the Underground Casino?” Qu Yan grabbed his arm, and she calmly said, “I’ll go with you.”

Gu Li pursed his lips and lowered his head to look at Qu Yan. A mix of emotions could be seen in his eyes.

“Although I don’t really like you…” Yu Xiangyang patted Gu Li’s back. “My friend’s friend is a friend of mine.”

Su Huiqing slightly froze and looked at Yu Xiangyang.

She suddenly remembered the fat middle-aged man who came to the Su Residences with a few credit cards a few days ago.

The Qu Family were also citizens of Green City. However, they knew nothing about her, unlike the Yu Family.

But since they really just wanted to help the Su Family, they gave her those credit cards.

They did not have any ulterior motives or whatsoever.

Su Huiqing squinted her eyes before taking her phone out to send a message.

She was not very familiar with the word ‘Friend.’ Rather, she most often used the word ‘Comrades’ in her life.

“Let’s go,” she finally said after a long while.

“Where are we going?” Qu Yan was still caught in a daze.

Well, it was not surprising that Qu Yan became stumped. After all, Qu Yan had always known Su Huiqing as cold, indifferent, and low profiled. She also did not like to care about other people’s business, so Qu Yan did not think she would come with them to the Underground Casino.

A black car suddenly stopped beside Su Huiqing.

Su Huiqing reached out and opened the car door. She then threw her school bag onto the front passenger seat. With one hand placed on the car door, she turned her head to look at Qu Yan and the others; her face looked especially beautiful and pure. She calmly spat out, “Get in. We are going to the Underground Casino.”

Although Green City was merely a second-rate city, it was a complicated city.

It was probably the reason the municipality was not directly under the government’s control.

Someone once said that the International Casino bet on the entire world.

While the Underground Casino in Green City was the real deal within the country.

Nobody knew who the boss of the Underground Casino was, and it had been like that for so many years, and yet the underground casino still operated just fine. Nobody dared to create trouble there, which led to the thought that powerful people probably had tight reins on it.

The Underground Casino and Green City stayed in their own respective lane and never meddled into each other’s business before.

“Please show us your membership card.” The person standing at the entrance blocked them.

As such, the people in their uniform just stood at the entrance like that.

Upon hearing that, Gu Li wanted to go forward. However, Su Huiqing stretched out her leg and stopped him.

He turned around, only to see Su Huiqing swinging her school bag over her shoulders. She then took out a diamond card from her pocket and placed it in front of the people guarding at the entrance.

The cold glow from the diamond card made her slender fingers look especially striking.

The guards’ facial expression immediately changed, and they retracted their arms before bowing to them. “Welcome, our distinguished guests.”

“Qingqing, where did you get the card…” Yu Xiangyang glared at her.

“I stole it from the person in front of us.” Su Huiqing kept a straight face and stuffed one hand into her pocket. Yu Xiangyang and the others felt a little cautious because of a strong presence in the casino. However, Su Huiqing still seemed as calm as steady as ever.

“Gu Li, Brother Wei invites you for a walk.” After they had walked into the massive hall of the casino—one which they couldn’t see the end of with a glance—a few men came up to them and took Gu Li away.

Su Huiqing stopped walking and put her hand out to block Yu Xiangyang and Qu Yan, who were about to walk forward towards the men.

Although Qu Yan had an impulsive nature, she still trusted Su Huiqing. “Qingqing, what are we going to do now?”

Su Huiqing raised her eyebrows and scanned all the game tables in the casino. She then gave a strange smile. “It is naturally best to observe the place first and see how it differs from any other casinos.”

She then walked into the casino with a straight back and even did it in such a calm manner.

Even those who were guarding the door were well-trained fighters, she noticed.

Su Huiqing narrowed her eyes.

After quietly observing the entire casino, she turned around to face the already anxious Qu Yan. “Alright, we will find Gu Li now.”

On the second level.

It was an enclosed room with no windows.

“Ah Li, save me! They want to kill me!” Upon seeing Gu Li being brought in, a middle-aged man dressed in a camel-colored dress shirt shouted. It was as though he saw his saving grace.

However, Gu Li refused to look at Gu Yihai and only carried his school bag in his hands. Instead, he looked towards a figure who was sitting down with his back facing him. “Brother Wei, what exactly do you want me to do for you to let my uncle go?”

Upon hearing that, Brother Huang, who was still back facing him, broke into a fit of laughter.

He turned his chair and there was a deck of poker cards in his hands.

Only a few people were present in the room, and Gu Li could see that the men beside Brother Wei had guns in their hands.

“Very simple. Just make a bet with me.” Brother Wei threw the poker cards onto the game table and lit a cigarette. “Using Gu Yihai’s life.”

With that said, he raised his head and his eyes glistened.

“I don’t know how to gamble.” Gu Li pursed his lips and tightened his grip on the strap of his school bag.

Brother Wei shook his cigarette and the two men beside him immediately reached out to grab Gu Li.

“You don’t know how to gamble? Either you pay his debt…” Brother Wei leaned back in his chair and exhaled a puff of smoke. He whisked out an exquisitely designed gun and played with it. “Or you leave your two hands here!”

The gun in his hands landed on the table with a ‘Pa!’

Gu Li’s facial expression changed.

Just then—

‘Peng!’

Someone kicked the tightly shut door open.

‘Peng! Peng! Peng!’

A few bodyguards flew inside the room from outside, as if someone threw them.

Brother Wei raised his head and looked towards the door. Upon seeing the person at the door, his pupils constricted.

There was a cool figure standing in the middle of the door. She was holding the manager by the collar while carrying her bag with her other hand. With her head slightly lowered, her side profile looked especially icy-cold under the dim lights.

She let go and…

‘Peng!’

The manager dropped onto the ground.

“Let him go.” She turned her head to face Brother Wei before emphasizing syllable by syllable. “I will gamble with you.”
