Chapter 16: She Who Ruled the International Association
Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios
“What is this?” Yu Xiangyang froze before he spoke.
But his gaze did not leave the paper. How should he explain this? The words she had written were too intriguing.
Her penmanship was crisp and clear that one could distinguish its twists and pauses. It shows how unique her brushwork and style were.
As Su Huiqing opened the window, she said, “Medicinal herbs.”
In her previous life, she had used the same herbs to soak her body with. It helped her improve the muscle tone, bone strength, and physique. The body frame she possessed at the moment was far behind the body she had. Thus, she needed to strengthen it using the herbs she had used before.
But a few of these herbs were pricey and valuable, thus she would face difficulties getting it. The Yu Family, on the other hand, had absolute control over the medical industry in Green City. It would make things much easier if she asked Yu Xiangyang for help.
“Sure.” Yu Xiangyang knew Su Huiqing had her small secrets, hence he did not probe further. He merely suppressed the excitement in his heart.
3Since she asked him for help, did that mean she trusted him?
“Oh, right…” Yu Xiangyang glanced back at the words she wrote on the paper. “What kind of penmanship is this?”
It was exquisite. He then recalled how the teachers had praised Shen Anan’s Xingkai-styled penmanship. It even clinched the second prize in Green City! He heard that good penmanship could earn increased marks in the college examination.
Since then, class one’s headteacher posted Shen Anan’s penmanship on the wall. He had seen it before, and he could say that it was well written. But…
It was not as nice as Su Huiqing’s!
How did no one notice such beautifully written words?
“It is the ‘Gold Thin Font,’ but the way I wrote it is a bit messy,” drawled Su Huiqing as she looked at the fruit tree outside.
Yu Xiangyang glanced at Su Huiqing, and he asked, “Did you train writing in such a way? Didn’t your language teacher claim that you were unteachable in front of the entire school? If he knew that you could write words in such a beautiful way, he would be very kind to you.”

Su Huiqing turned her head to look at him. She supported herself on the windowsill and the light wind blew on her hair strands. She deepened her gaze at him, and she asked, “Are words that important?”
“It is important. Look at Anan. It’s not just her excellent grades that the teachers like, but because of her good penmanship, too.” Yu Xiangyang felt that Su Huiqing was extremely dangerous at that moment, but he could only grit his teeth and say, “If you only showed how great your penmanship is, you wouldn’t be…”
Su Huiqing retracted her hands and leaned against the windowsill. She then unwrapped a piece of chewing gum. She lowered her eyes and in an indifferent tone, she asked, “Is that so?”
Of course!
Despite his thoughts, Yu Xiangyang did not dare to say it out loud.
“Alright.” Su Huiqing suddenly raised her head. Her long fingers played with the jade necklace wrapped around her neck. “I’m going to bed.”
Her lips were still curled up, and it looked slightly cold and sinister.
Yu Xiangyang saw some gaming consoles at the corner of Su Huiqing’s room. He wanted to play a game with her, but upon hearing her words, he placed the paper into his pocket and went out the door.
After Yu Xiangyang had gone out, Su Huiqing locked the door and sat cross-legged on the bed. Her right palm gripped that ancient piece of snow jade.
1This piece of jade was unique. With closed eyes and re-focused thoughts, one would see a cultivation technique in their mind.
1This cultivation technique had ten levels. She already reached the sixth level of cultivation that year and had invested a colossal amount of time in her cultivation. She even used a couple of potions she developed to help in her advancement. After she had reached that level, her body attributes skyrocketed.
This had allowed her to rule over the International Association!
Even the big three of the International Association were fearful of her.
It was a pity… she accidentally played herself to death.
6The public had always been envious of the International Association. Little do they know, only weird geniuses gathered in that place. It was a terrifying place as well!

Su Huiqing collected her thoughts and closed her eyes. She had to cultivate back to the first level. It would be easier to cultivate this time since she had prior experience of how it works. Moreover, she was still familiar with the herbs she had used before.
The next day.
She had to go to school on Monday.
Su Huiqing wore her school uniform and tied her hair into a ponytail. She wiped the mist on the mirror and stared at her reflection.
As the mist dispersed, a jade-like face appeared in the mirror. She had innocent and beautiful features. But her black eyes expelled a light, sharp, and sinister gaze.
With a blink of an eye, the stern and sinister look in her eyes disappeared and reverted to its usual lazy look. She then sat in the Su Family car en route to school.
Green City Yi Zhong High School. Morning, at six o’clock.
1A black car stopped at the entrance and the passenger seat door opened.
A long pair of legs, covered with baggy pants, extended out from the car. It looked especially fashionable.
2The long leg took a step and the person got down from the car.
Su Huiqing carried her school bag and played on her phone with the other hand. She raised her head, and she stared at the school’s front gate with squinted eyes. She then casually said, “I’m short of money.”
Yu Xiangyang who got down from his car ran towards her. He thought she was going to say that she would study harder, yet her words left him speechless.
She said that she lacked money in front of the school gate? Missy Su, what are you trying to do!?
“Missy Su, can you keep a low profile?” Yu Xiangyang pondered for a moment before he said, “Forget it, I think it’s better if you don’t.”
He glanced at Su Huiqing and felt that since she was so garish, she could not keep a low profile!
4They walked towards the school building.
The third-year students had a separate building for themselves. Su Huiqing’s classroom was at the fifth level while Yu Xiangyang’s classroom was at the fourth level. As they trudged up the stairs, Yu Xiangyang did not lower his volume on purpose. Almost everyone knew that the newly recognized beauty beside him was Su Huiqing. The same Su Huiqing that they nicknamed as a useless piece of trash!
Those initially curious gazes turned into disdain and fury!
When they walked to the second level, a group of girls stopped them.
“Why do I feel that…” Su Huiqing squinted her eyes, and she continued, “These people are giving me strange looks.”
Yu Xiangyang touched his nose and gave an awkward cough. “Missy Su, you may not be clear of your current reputation in school. Shen Anan is the lovely goddess in this school.”
By pushing their goddess down the stairs and not apologizing, it made their goddess suffer so many grievances. How could these people look at Su Huiqing with kind gazes?
“Su Huiqing, I thought you were just a useless piece of trash. I never expected you to harbor such an evil heart at such a young age!” The leader was a short-haired girl, and she coldly stared at Su Huiqing. “Anan had always been giving way to you, so why can’t you let her off? You rich people are always like this! You don’t treat others fairly. Us, normal civilians always are the ones suffering! It is a pity that others may be fearful of the Su Family, but we are not!”
Su Huiqing narrowed her gaze, and she slowly said, “You may have been mistaken.”
“Mistaken?” The short-haired girl mocked and fiercely lashed out. “Aren’t you the one who pushed Anan down the stairs? You did, so she could not take the mock examinations and prevent her from cooperating with the Su Family. Isn’t that right?”
With that, she waved her hand and a bunch of girls surrounded her. They all had hateful gazes on their face.
Su Huiqing did not bother to explain and tilted her head. She then raised her brow. “Move.”
1After that, Su Huiqing lowered her head. An evil presence had filled her eyes as she spoke a single word.

Updates once a week whenever I have time. Cross-posted on Wattpad and Scribble Hub. The CBMokedi cover will return! Excerpt: She looked down at him again. Young. Healthy, from what she could see, except for the wound that was killing him. He was handsome in a way that suggested a life of wealth and plenty. She did not think he had ever starved. Someone important. Her shadow fell across him, and he frowned. Blearily, he opened his eyes. They were amber and bright, even as he lay dying in the dirt. She could feel his soul, blazing inside of him like a fire refusing to die even as his body began to fail. He met her gaze, eyes widening in what she guessed was surprise—or shock. But he never looked away, staring up at her as though transfixed. Ba’an made her decision. She raised her hand and covered his eyes. In another moment, a murder of crows cawed as they took wing. The man and woman were gone from the road, leaving only the dead staring up into the sky. Note: This is a high-fantasy set in a low-magic world. The first book is largely character-driven and we really only hit the real plot in Book II, so if you're not fond of long epic yarns you ought to skip this one. I also don't include trigger warnings, but mind the "traumatizing content" tag--all societies minus one practice slavery and the world is indeed, rather grim!
