The Last Embrace Chapter 467

"I'm aware of that, Sir. That's why the anti-vampire vaccine was created to combat the vampires' thirst for blood. But you have to understand, Sir, that if there are good people, there are also bad people. In the world of vampires, there are savage vampires and there are good vampires, they have a different method in obtaining blood from their victims. The savage vampires kill victims savagely, while good vampires just drink enough blood from their victims and leave without killing anyone. I can assure you with my life, Sir, that the surviving vampires hiding in the Facility are peace-loving vampires and does not kill human victims compare to their slain counterparts," Jessy explained.
General Smith rose to his feet pacing back and forth in the room. "My mission is to wipe all vampires from our country, every single one of them because they are blood-sucking parasites. And my mission was about to be completed tonight..."
Jessy's eyes widened. Huh? Does the General plan to attack the Facility tonight? Damn! She was not expecting it!
"W-what do you mean, Sir?" she asked, alarmed.
General Smith looked at Agent X in the eyes.
"I do acknowledge and appreciated your extraordinary achievements, Agent X. You're becoming a valuable asset to the Police force because of your fantastic power. But as you can see...all vampire needs to be annihilated from the face of the earth. It's the only way for humans to live in peace. It's no longer about my quest for vengeance, it's all about the safety of the masses against the parasite vampires.
I will spare the ex-vampires residing in the Habitat. But I have to annihilate all the vampires living in the Facility because they're still blood-sucking parasites. Being the President's representative, I have all the power and authority to execute my plan and decision to the best of my ability putting my people's safety first. This is a fair deal, isn't it...Agent X?" he said, announcing his final decision.

Jessy closed her eyes. Dammit! This is not according to her plan!
"My men are now on their way to the Facility. Don't worry, the Facility won't be destroyed by bombs or any destructive weapon of any kind because the 5k human workers are still up there in the surface working in the Facility, I don't want to put their lives into danger. My men carry bombs like chemicals containing the deadly vampire vaccine in powder form which kills vampires after a few minutes of inhaling them. It's gonna be a quick death, not bloody, so don't worry the vampires won't suffer long," General Smith explained casually.
Jessy rose to her feet. "I'm sorry, General, but I can't allow you to massacre my clan," she said in a cold hard voice.
General Smith smirked. "The moment you get out of this room, all your accomplices in the next room will be fired from their job and sent to jail for the violation of colluding with an enemy of the country. Agent X, you have to understand that sacrifices are needed for the greater good of all. Since you already work for the government, you should know about this policy and stand by it. Don't worry...as soon all the vampires hiding in the Facility already perished... the clemency will take effect and be given to you and your clan... that's my assurance to you. I already have here inside this brown envelope the Clemency Order signed by the President himself and me as the witness," he said.
Jessy glared at the General while staring at the brown envelope that he was holding in his hand. "General Smith, you don't have to kill the rest. I can transform all the remaining vampires into humans, just give me enough time!" she reasoned with him.

General Smith shook his head. "It's too late for that, Agent X. By the time we're done talking here, my men already finished their mission. Just sit back and relax."
Jessy gritted her teeth furiously.
A while later, the general was talking to someone on the radio.
Six men in full military gear entered the room.
Jessy slumped back into the chair, in a furious mood. Her mind was in a jumble and she can't think straight. If she will leave now — Oliver and his companion will be court-martial and discharged from their job. It's now clear that the General has the upper hand.
All of a sudden a gush of wind touches Jessy's face.
'Don't worry about the Facility, I got your back covered, everyone is safe. I freeze all the military soldiers that were advancing to the facility, nobody is hurt,' a male voice whispered in Jessy's ears.
Jessy's eyes widened. OMG! It's Adam's voice!
He's here!
In his invisible form!
"Thank you!" Jessy said aloud, she's smiling now. A strong wave of relief washes over her.
General Smith stared at Agent X's smiling profile, he was getting suspicious upon seeing her smiling face. Earlier, he can only see confusion, agitation, and worries all over her face. "What are you smiling at — Agent X?"
Jessy grinned. "Nothing..."
General Smith was now on alert. Agent X was no longer looking worried. C-could it be that—? He called the battalion commander who is in charge of the operation on his radio, but he's not answering...dammit!
Jessy rose to her feet. "Time to sleep, General Smith!" she said, wearing a smug look in her eyes.
Within the span of a few seconds, the six military officers and the general were frozen in time.
Adam appeared in front of Jessy. "Are you okay, my love?"
Jessy smiled. "Thank you for coming just in time and saving everyone in the Facility. I didn't expect something like this to happen. I underestimated everything," she said teary-eyed.
"You are too trusting, Jess." That's the only thing he can say to her.
"Yeah..." she said and sighed heavily. She was expecting that everything will go on her favor since she was working hard to make the clemency a big success. Unfortunately, General Smith still insists on his revenge. If Adam didn't arrive on time, tragedy would have befallen to the vampires hiding in the Facility and it's all her fault. "How did you came out of the prison room?"
Adam smiled. "My brother Zain visited me earlier in the prison room and told me that I'm free from now on. He told me that he had already forgiven me. And if we have plans to marry anytime soon, he will give us his blessing. We're free at last, Jess!"
"Wow! That's amazing!" Jessy's eyes glistened with tears of happiness.
Adam hugged Jessy tightly. "We can finally make plans for our future together!"
He enveloped Jessy in a sweet embrace.
The couple hugged each other for a while.
Then they glanced at the military personnel frozen in time inside the room.
"What are you going to do with them?" Adam asked Jessy.
