The Last Embrace Chapter 426

One week later.
Adam talked to Zain. "Bro, I'm going out of the room today because I have an agreement with our mother. I will help her to return the abducted humans to their home. Before they can be sent home, any traces of the abduction have to be erased from their memories," he explained.
Zain's brows knitted together in suspicion. "Don't fool me, you are just making an excuse just to see Jessy outside!"
Adam breathed deeply. "No, it's not like that. Mother and I already talked about this issue. Don't worry, after we finally return the 150 humans to their homes safely, I will no longer go out of this room until the two years will be completed based on our agreement," he said.
"Why do you have to go out? You are just making things up!" Zain accused him. "I think you're not serious with our agreement."
Adam shrugged his shoulders. Sigh, his brother is acting like a child again. He went back to the foam mattress and sat down, he picked up his handheld game console and began playing contra...then metal slug next in the portable game console.
Adam was having fun with the games.
While Zain was curiously observing his brother who's attention was solely fixed on the game.
A moment later.
Princess Abigail entered the room. She saw his brother playing. "What's that—?" she went to his side and watched him in action pressing the buttons here and there.
"It's a handheld portable gaming console. It has many built-in games that can satisfy any gamers craving for action and entertainment," Adam explained without taking his eyes off from the screen.
Princess Abigail continues watching the game with interest and curiosity shining in her eyes, she's beginning to like the device. She finds it interesting. "Brother, can I play too? Can I borrow your game console? The game you are playing is quite exciting and entertaining!" she said in fascination, very much interested in the device.

Adam glanced at her sister and smiled. "Don't worry, I specifically brought with me three pieces of handheld game consoles, one for Zain and one for you," he said.
"Wow! Gimme!" Abigail clapped her hands in glee.
Adam stood up and went to the closet to get the game consoles he brought intentionally for his siblings. He went to his sister's side and handed her the game console. "This is yours," he said.
"Thank you so much, bro!" Abigail said enthusiastically.
Adam went to his brother's side and placed the game console near his feet. "This one is for you, brother, this will take away your boredom and let me warn you, the games are addicting! Explore it at your own risk," he said.
He went back to his sister's side and explained to her how the portable gaming console works.
A few moments later, Adam and Abigail's consciousness was already lost in the games.
Zain stared at his siblings in wonderment. What these two people are playing? They look so engrossed in their activity, while occasionally smiling at each other.
Hmm, he has nothing to lose if he will just take a look at the device. He reached for the portable game console and began pressing each of the buttons. And his discovery began.
Out of the corner of his eyes, Adam smirked, he saw his brother began exploring the game console function.
He and Abigail glanced at each other secretly.
One hour later.
The three siblings were already immersed in their chosen games.
All of a sudden, Queen Margaret appeared in the center of the room. It took a few minutes for the gamers to acknowledge their mother.
"Mom!" Princess Abigail dropped the game console in the mattress. Dang! She forgot what she's here for.

Queen Margaret saw the estate of her children when she landed in the room. They were all preoccupied...looking at a strange-looking device in their hands. "Abigail, I told you to fetch your brother Adam and bring him to the study room, 'coz today I'm planning to send one human home. Why did you forget my command?"
Princess Abigail bit her lip. "I'm sorry, Mom, I forgot," she said while scratching her head.
Adam put down the game console in the mattress.
Zain addressed his mother. "Mother, Adam can't go outside, he must stay here inside the room with me. It's part of or agreement," he said calmly.
Queen Margaret's face darkened all of a sudden.
Princess Abigail saw the anger in her mother's eyes, she spoke right away. "Mother, if bro Adam can't go outside then we will just bring the humans here so that he can erase their memory," she quickly suggested.
"Yes, that's a better arrangement. I think my sister's suggestion is wonderful, Mom. I agree with it," Adam approved right away so that her mother won't lose control.
Queen Margaret stared at her children's faces for a while. Her anger suddenly vanishes away after seeing the three of them in one room. It's been a long time already, a beautiful view like this rarely happens. Her husband must see this wonderful view!
"Okay fine. I will bring the humans here, one at a time," she finally relented.
Queen Margaret exited the room.
Zain continues playing with the game console.
Adam and Abigail looked at each other.
"You go out now and don't anger, Mother. Bring the game console with you, it's yours already," Adam softly commanded his sister.
Abigail smiled happily. "Yes, I have a new toy! Thanks for this extraordinary gift bro, I won't be bored to death anymore!" she grabbed the device and immediately exited the prison room.
Adam smiled and sneaked a glance at his brother. If he isn't ready to talk to him yet then at least they will be both preoccupied with the games. It's better this way, the ice and awkwardness between them will slowly melt away in the coming days before Zain knows it.
...
Inside the clinic.
It's been one week already since Adam went inside the prison room. Jessy was wondering if she can visit him inside the room without his knowledge? She will just appear there in her invisible form. She just wants to know, how is her boyfriend doing inside?
But then, Adam told her to wait at least five months.
Jessy sighed, she might as well honor his wishes.
She will try harder to suppress her cravings for his presence. In the meantime, she will just divert her attention to other matters.
While thinking of something...
Dang! She was not able to visit Jagger in the city. How that guy is doing nowadays? She hopes that he behaved himself and avoided trouble so that he won't be the source of trouble himself.
She will check on him later during her night breaks at 10:00 in the evening.

Making a difference
Harry Potter FanFiction: Hannah Longbottom liked to watch the people who entered the Wizarding World via the small, walled courtyard behind the Leaky Cauldron for a reason: During her not so long life, she had learned about three different boys who had entered the Wizarding World alone, leaving behind a life so horrible she could barely imagine. One of them, who became a friend of hers, had gone through great hardships to become a hero, one of the greatest wizards the Wizarding World had ever seen. One of them, who had been her teacher, had become cold and bitter, and no one had ever recognized what amazing talents he could have offered, until it had been too late. One of them, the monster she had helped to fight during the Battle of Hogwarts, had become the most dreaded, most dangerous, and most deadly man Great Britain had ever seen, and yet it could have all been different, if someone had just tried to make that difference early enough in that life, if he had not boarded the train to Hogwarts all alone. Already posted at Devianart and AO3, I've included a link to RoyalRoad on my profiles there.
