The Last Embrace Chapter 418

One week later.
Jessy was lying in the clinic bed undergoing a blood transfusion with a recipient.
She was thinking of Jagger and how to help him. It would be hard to find a job in the city if he didn't even have a single identification (ID) with him to begin with. She was sure, he doesn't even know how to make a resume and worst, he wasn't able to finish even Elementary School. No one would probably hire him for work.
And what would happen if Jagger can't find work in the city?
He would starve and die.
Technically yes, but with the kind of ability and power he had, it would be impossible if he would just drop dead in the sidewalk due to hunger.
Sooner or later, Jagger would use his power to survive in the city.
What could he do?
He can rob a bank. Rob any stores or establishment to his liking. Hopefully, he won't become a thief and kill anyone, that would be the worst thing he can do.
One thing she was sure of. Jagger is more than capable of doing all the above things. He might end up befriending bad people in the long run that might influence him in doing bad things.
Sigh.
She wants to convince him to go back to the forest, at least there, he can't rob anyone. She doubted if he would even listen to her now that he had regained his freedom.
Dang!
She was wrong when she thought that after he went away, everything will be alright. It looks like she still has to continue thinking and worrying about him.
He now becomes her problem, she will be responsible for whatever actions he's going to do in the city because she freed him from the bottle.
Worse come to worst, she will ask Roden to imprison Jagger again in the bottle if he starts harassing people in the city.

Hopefully, it doesn't have to come to that.
It has been seven days since the last time she saw him.
She needs to drop a quick visit to the motel to see how he's doing in the city.
She looked at the wall clock inside the clinic, thirty minutes more to go and she will have her two hours break time by then.
She already made up her mind to teleport to the city.
...
Two hours later.
Jessy exited the clinic and went to her room. She wore her brown jacket, and slid her feet into her black sneaker shoes and put her sling bag around her shoulder.
She's ready to go!
She made herself invisible first, then began initiating the teleportation process in her mind.
A minute later, she landed in the Budget Wise Motel where she last saw Jagger.
She's not inside the room. Where could he be at this hour? It's still 5:00 in the afternoon. She exited the room and went outside the hallway of the motel. She was still in her invisible form, she can roam freely around the city without anyone noticing her presence.
She hovered in the air, trying to locate Jagger near the surrounding areas.
She can smell his faint scent.
Where is he?
She hovered forward, passing buildings and establishment, then she saw the wet market ahead. Jagger's scent was getting stronger as she was approaching the wet market.
Then she finally located him outside the fish delivery van!
Oh, what he's doing in that van together with two other burly looking guys?
Wait...there's something new to him...ahh...he cut his hair short! Gone was his curly messy shoulder-length hair. Instead, he was sporting a short hair cut right now and he looks good with his new hairdo.
She stared at his face closely, a faint smiled appeared on her lips.
He looks manlier and decent looking with his new hair.

Jessy observed what the three guys were doing.
Jagger and the men were carrying the big basin filled with fish and seafood on their shoulders. They went inside the wet market, she followed them inside.
Jessy saw them delivering the fish tub basin in one store, then to another.
'Ah, nice...he found a job in the wet market!' she murmured to herself.
Not bad!
It's a decent job compared to robbing a bank or robbing a store. She hopes that Jagger will continue working earnestly like this without resorting to violence or dishonest works. Anyways, by now he already knows that he won't be able to find any decent job in the city apart from doing low paying labor jobs because he has no formal education, to begin with, no one would hire him.
Sighing, she continues observing him in the next thirty minutes.
Jagger seems to get along fine with his companion because they were chatting and laughing at each other. She was glad he was able to find good friends in the city, he won't feel so lonely anymore. If Jagger can find a nice job that he likes doing every day chances are he won't resort to doing bad things using his power and ability just to earn money, if things continue like this, there's no need to worry about him anymore.
The men delivered some more fish basin inside the wet market until the delivery van was already empty inside.
Looks like they were already done with their work.
Jagger and his companion settled in the chair, resting in front of the store selling assorted refreshment and delectable pastries, they were drinking ice cold soda drinks quenching their thirst after doing physical labor.
No need to stay longer in the area.
Jessy looked at Jagger's face one last time, and then she left the place. She's now heading to the busy street that would take her to her favorite restaurant. She would buy one bucket of spicy Korean fried chicken, rice, two order of creamy macaroni coleslaw salad, then cold soda to complete her purchases.
When she arrived at the restaurant, she went inside and ambled towards the toilet, she found an empty cubicle and from there... she made herself visible again.
She exited the toilet and sauntered towards the cashier to make an order.
Fifteen minutes later, Jessy's take out order was delivered by the smiling waiter to her table. She picked up the take out bag and went back to the toilet. From there, she teleported back into the Facility, precisely inside her mother's office.
Her mother was not in the room.
She cleared her mother's office table from its clutter and began placing and arranging the bucket of fried chicken, rice, salad and soda in the table. When her mother return they will start eating for dinner.
A few minutes later.
Sarah entered the office. "Wow! What's that delicious smell floating in the air?" her eyes widened when she spotted the mouthwatering dishes in the table, she was delighted to see ready to eat foods.
Jessy grinned. "I just come back from the city, Mom. I bought these foods for our dinner. Let's eat!"
"Awesome! You just come in time, my child. I'm so hungry!" Sarah said.
They put alcohol first on their hands and began eating.
While eating, Jessy plans to go back to the city later or tomorrow to check on Jagger again and maybe talk to him if she still has enough time to spare.
Thirty minutes later.
After done eating, Jessy exited the office going to the clinic, leaving her mother to finish the rest of the food.

Sector 26 is the poorest sector that humans can barely survive in; but there is one more part of Japan. The Mutant Recovery and Protection Agency (MRPA) operates to hide mutants in society and allow them to live human lives.
