The Last Embrace Chapter 398

Jessy looked at the bottle in surprise, horrified upon seeing a very tiny Jagger inside. She grabbed the bottle and tried to open the lid but no matter how much she tried she can't open the damn bottle.
She looked at Roden angrily. "Open this bottle and set my friend free, or else, I will burn this room down!" she shouted at him. Flames instantly erupted from her palms.
Roden's wife and the children began crying frightened by the fire.
"Crossbred, please don't hurt my husband, please forgive us, please have mercy on us!" the wife was sobbing.
"Aunt Jessy, please, spare our lives!" said the boy in a terrified voice.
"Please Aunt, spare our lives! Please have mercy on us! Please forgive us!" the girl was getting hysterical.
The wife embraced her two children's trying to shield their eyes from seeing the flames getting fiercer.
"I warn you again, get my friend out of the bottle or I will burn you first!" Jessy looked at Roden fiercely.
They locked eyes.
Roden saw the sincerity on Jessy's eyes, the concern she had for his younger brother that she was willing to kill others just to save him, sad, his brother doesn't deserve her. He lowered himself down the ground in bended knee facing the Crossbred, tears sprung from his eyes. "Please don't kill me! Have mercy on me!"
Jessy was about to hurl the flames onto Roden's body when the wife leaped and covered her husband's body with hers...which prevented Jessy from continuing burning the man.
"Please don't kill my husband, he is Jagger's brother!" the wife screamed. The children rushed to their parent's side.
The family hugged each other willing to die together.
Jessy closed her palms and the flames died instantly. Her brows snapped together. "W-what did you say?"
"My husband and Jagger are blood brothers, please spare us!" the wife begged continuously. "Pleaseeee..."
The children were now crying in their mother's lap.
Jessy shut of her eyes for a second, confused as hell. If the woman was telling the truth, she was staring now at the leader of the savage vampires. "Then if you are telling the truth...convince your husband to set his brother free from the bottle! Right now!" she commanded.

"No! I'm sorry I can't do that Crossbred," Roden slowly stood up.
"And what is the reason? Why you would even imprison your brother inside the bottle? How could you even possibly do that to your brother?" Jessy was getting confused.
"I have to do it even if it's against my will because I believe that it is the right thing to do. I did it to save you from my brother," he said.
"Why would I need saving from your brother?" Jessy's eyes widen.
"Because he comes to me to ask for my help. He wants me to erase your memory of everyone in your life so that the only person you will remember is him only," Roden explained.
Jessy slumped on the edge of the bed. "So, tell me why I can't remember coming into this place?"
Roden released a deep sigh. "The truth is, you arrived her imprisoned inside that bottle," he pointed at the bottle above the table. "My brother uses black magic to turn you into a cloud of smoke and place you inside the bottle making you will sleep for three days. He asked for my help in erasing your memory then plant his memory in your mind, and after you wake up you will no longer have any recollection of your past life and the only person you will remember is my brother Jagger."
Suddenly the puzzle fits together, that is why the only thing she remembered was the scene when she was eating that young coconut meat inside the treehouse.
She looked at Roden, Jagger's brother. Who would even think that the person who would save her from Jagger's scheming is his very own brother?
Strange.
Jessy looked at the man. "Roden, tell me why? Why would you go against your brother's wishes to save me? You must have a very important reason why you're doing all this. I want you to tell me honestly and please don't lie to me."

Roden breathed deeply. "I just want you to know that I love my brother so much. I promised my mother before she dies that I will take care of my brother. My brother and I are so different from each other. He wants to seek revenge while I want to live in peace. I am the leader of the surviving savage vampire clan and we are in hiding here inside this cave for a long time. We don't want war or killing. We just want to live in peace and it's one of my mother's wish for us brothers before she passed away."
Jessy fell silent. She used to think that the leader of the savage vampire will be savage and cruel, but she was surprised that Roden is calm and looks harmless. Her mind paints a different picture of him and now that she finally comes face to face with him, he looks like he could not harm a fly. "How many vampires or people died in your hands?" she suddenly asked.
Roden shook his head. "I have not killed anyone vampires of humans with my bare hands or using any weapon, except wild animals," he answered truthfully.
Damn! While she already killed several people savagely, this man that stood in front of her have not killed anyone yet, this is amusing. "How many savage vampires living inside this cave?" she asked.
"More than five hundred vampires. I no longer wish to be associated with that term 'savage' attached to our group. Because my clan and I are not savage, we are peace lovers," Roden declared.
Jessy smiled a bit. Who would even think that the slain savage leader can produce a peace-loving offspring? She looked at Jagger inside the bottle. She had been using him for a while and he finally leads him to his brother. Although she had cultivated his trust for a different reason she does develop a genuine fondness for him, like that of a brother or a friend. She was aware of his infatuation for her, she just didn't expect he will go overboard with his obsession.
"Okay, since you save me from your little brother...what can I do for you?" she asked him.
Roden looked at the woman with his pleading eyes. "I'm not asking for a reward for saving you. The only thing that I've been asking is that you won't take this thing seriously against me, please spare my family and my clan from your wrath. We just really want to live in peace...please...don't tell the king about us. If he will know of our existence he and his men will come to this cave to massacre us all. In case you haven't known, my slain father and the King are mortal enemies and since I and my brother are my father's direct blood descendants he will surely finish us all. Please spare our lives Crossbred. You are the only one who can save us!" he begged.
Jessy saw the sincerity in his eyes but before she will go soft on him she wants to explore the cave and asses the situation if they indeed posed a threat to the Facility or they are worth saving. "I will explore the cave and I will decide later if I will help you or not," she said.
"No problem, Crossbred. I will give you a tour of the entire cave. Please follow me," he said feeling a little bit of renewed hope surging through his heart.
Roden and his family exited the secret room followed by Jessy, while Jagger was in the estate of despair looking after them inside the bottle.
