The Last Embrace Chapter 390

After the blood transfusion, Jessy no longer returns to Hannah's room, instead, she went to her room to rest for a while. She was planning to teleport into the city to buy a portable baby bassinet for the baby so that every time Hannah want's to go to the flower dome to admire the flowers the baby can be tucked safely in the bassinet.
Nice idea!
She was about to teleport into the city when Adam suddenly appeared inside her room.
"Where are you going, Jess?" he asked.
"I was about to go to the city to buy a portable bassinet for Hannah's baby," she answered.
"Ah okay, I will accompany you then," he offered.
She asked, "So...did your brother already seen his son?"
Adam nods his head. "Yes. We all visited him in his room and my father placed the baby in my brother's arms..."
"What was Zain's reaction?" Jessy was curious.
"He seemed to be surprised and a bit shock after seeing his child," Adam replied. "My brother asked us to leave because he wants to spend time alone with his son..."
Jessy raised her brow and fell silent for a minute or two. "Well...although Zain's character is a lot to be desired...but I believe he won't harm his child," she voiced out her opinion.
Adam plopped down on the bed bringing Jessy with him. "Do you think the baby can finally change my brother's attitude? What I'm trying to say is that—I'm hoping that the baby can soften his heart and teach him to appreciate the value of Hannah in his life and especially in his son's life..." he winked at her.
Jessy smiled as if a bulb was being turned on inside her head. "You mean to say—?"

"Yeah. Sooner or later... Zain...Hannah and the baby will have to live under the same roof. If that happens there is a million chance that Zain can learn to appreciate Hannah's value in his life! Then he will willingly set you free so that he can marry Hannah for their son's sake..." Adam enthusiastically blurted out his prediction.
Jessy grinned from ear to ear. "Amen to that!" she looked at him. "Are you going to go with me to the city?"
Adam nods his head. "Yes. I will accompany you to shop for my nephew's clothes but you have to come back here alone because I still have an appointment to fulfill, okay?"
"Are you going to do a photoshoot?"
"No..."
"A video shoot with some famous brands or products by big shot companies?" she asked again.
"No...I will meet a client today to purchase his property because I want to turn it into a five-story condominium unit for rent or sell. I plan to start building my property portfolio and become a successful real estate tycoon..." Adam said.
Jessy grinned. "You love the human world and adapted so well to the mortals' ways of thinking and living. I think you are much more human now compared to me," she commented.
Adam looked into his beloved eyes. "Being human is great! It provides more freedom to my life compared to just being a vampire alone. Right now, I'm enjoying both worlds!" he responded, his eyes twinkling with mirth.
"Fantastic! I'm glad you are truly enjoying the human world compared before," she said. "By the way, did you remember my guy friend in the forest?" she asked.
"Yes, I remembered him, what about him?" Adam replied. "Did he finally changed his mind and now wanting to live in the Habitat?"

Jessy shook her head. "Nope. Instead, he wants me to bring him to his brother's place in the faraway land. He no longer wants to live in the treehouse alone. He finds the vast forest lonely and too quiet. I guess he finally craves human interaction, at last!"
"So...when is the day you will transport him to his brother's place?"
"This coming Sunday, after lunch," she answered.
"Okay, since you two had finally agreed on the day then, by all means, send that poor soul into his brother's place so that he no longer felt isolated and lonely living alone in that treehouse," Adam said.
Jessy gets up from the bed and Adam followed suit.
"Shall we teleport now?" she asked him.
"Yep! Come to me...I will teleport you to the city, my princess," Adam grinned and opened his arms wide.
Jessy giggled and Adam immediately enveloped her in his warm embrace.
A minute later.
They landed in some dark alley in the city.
Holding the hands of each other, the couple advances into the busy street and spotted a department store a few meters away from where they were standing.
"Let's go to that store!" Jessy pointed her hand at the store ahead.
"Alright..." Adam replied.
They cross the street and went inside the department's store going straight to the infants' section.
Jessy and Adam were having fun picking up clothes for a newborn baby. Then Jessy picked up a portable bassinet for a newborn, then a pacifier, gloves, mittens, hoodies, bodysuits, and sleepwear, just one pair each because Hannah already had sewn lots of baby's clothes before she gives birth to her firstborn.
"Are you done?" Adam asked looking at the baby's clothing which was only a handful. "Why you only buy a few clothes for my nephew?"
"We don't need to buy many clothes because Hannah already sewed lots of clothing for her son," Jessy replied. "Let's go to the counter now and pay these items..." she said and scooped the clothing in her hands, while Adam grabs the bassinet, they walked towards the cashier's section.
After paying their purchases in the cashier's section, the couple left the place and went to the grocery area because Jessy wants to buy one gallon of ice cream to surprise her mother with a special treat.
Done shopping in the store, the couple parted ways. Adam went home while Jessy proceeds inside the ladies restroom, she entered a vacant cubicle and teleported back into the Facility, landing inside her mother's office.
"Good evening, Mother dearest!" she said breathlessly.
Sarah pressed her palms on her chest. "Daughter! My God! You nearly startled me!"
Jessy grinned. "Hi Mom, I brought one-gallon ice cream for you, it's a Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough flavor!"
Sarah's face lighted up. "Wow! Let me see..." she went to her daughter's side and took the shopping bag which contains the still frozen one-gallon ice cream. "Aren't you going to eat it with me?"
"I will..." Jessy responded in glee. She placed the shopping bag above the table and opened the lid of the ice cream.
A few minutes later, the mother and daughter duo were blissfully enjoying their ice cream treat.

Poliagoras is the most important world in the Fabric partly due to it being the centre of everything both literally and metaphorically. Trade, commerce, travel, and politics are all conducted primarily on Poliagoras, it has the biggest city in the fabric stretching to cover almost the entire world. It also holds all the known Great portals in the Fabric which are the only way to travel to other worlds. Even without these things, Poliagoras would still be the most important world in the Fabric as it is home to the largest population of Favoured. They were mages chosen by the Deities and given the potential to become more than mortal. I cannot overstate how appreciated constructive criticism is. This is the first story I have written of my own volition so even a small comment on how I could improve would be great. The current title is most definitely a working one. I know it isn't great.

Phantom Storm
"Have you heard, the entire Bonanno crew was brutally murdered!" Exclaimed a youth in his early teens. "What? you're lying, again!" Another similarly aged child responded with crisp denial in his tone. After all, the crew was infamous for their ruthlessness. An eery silence passed between them. Soon enough, the teens' curiosity trumped his ego, and he found himself inquiring in a meek voice. "So...Who did it?" "I heard my father talking about it while he was drunk. Guess what he said?..." The child responded, he was a natural-born storyteller. Listening intently, the other teen urged him on. "It was done by a single person. When the police arrived, the bodies were charred black, likely the work of an electro mage. Most had an arrow or two lodged in their body, and a few were even chopped into neat little slices by a sharp blade." He paused, inhaling sharply. "All the victims had shocked expressions on their faces. As if the enemy was invisible or something. That's why they call that person the Phantom Storm!" concluded the adolescent with an excited glint in his eyes. 2 CHAPTERS PER WEEK (Canada time) [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] -------------------------------------------- Follow Itsuki as he is reincarnated in an unfamiliar world, left to discover where he belongs in such a place. There will be no sudden power gains. The protagonist will have to work hard for what he gets. - This story is not about a loner, he'll have a few companions, and they will not be useless. - Some romance will be explored but not take away from the story. The main character will not be dense. Absolutely no harem will happen, but there might be a few love interests, no more than 3. - I will try my best to not follow cliches and stay as original as possible. - This story is my first ever, whether online or in real life. Thus, I might have grammatical errors here and there. The story might have a few plot holes and other such minute mistakes, as well. But I guarantee to try my best.
