The Last Embrace Chapter 371

Five days later.
Jessy teleported to the treehouse to visit Jagger. She landed in an empty house because Jagger was not inside. Where is he?
He must be somewhere near the vicinity of the treehouse.
How about if she will look for him in the stream?
She flew out of the window and zoomed into the stream, there she finally found him, bathing under the moonlight butt naked, no clothes!
Jessy decided not to continue spying on him since he was bathing. It's not the first time she had seen him bathing in nude, and it's not the first time she had seen a naked man's body. She was about to go back to the Facility when she heard him talking...
"You're not planning to flee are you?" he asked.
Jessy smirked, she won't answer him, no matter what.
"Still not answering me but continue salivating at my six-pack? eh?" Jagger chuckled.
Jessy kept her silence. She fixed her stare on the trees nearby.
She didn't see Jagger suddenly splashing water in her direction. "Aargh!" she yelped when the cold water hit her face. She glared at him, still in her invisible form. "How dare you!"
Jagger laughed aloud. "Oh, I'm so sorry. I didn't know you are standing there. If I have known I would not dare do it," he uttered an apology to her.
Jessy was thinking of sending a supersonic wind in his direction but changed her mind at the last minute.
"Come on, Jess, why don't you show yourself to me and join me here, we can bath together," he suggested naughtily.
"No thanks! I just drop you a quick visit, I will be going now," she said.
"No...wait! Please don't go yet! I've been missing you. Now that you're here let me see your face so that my day will be complete," he begged.
"Get off the water and put some clothes on!" she demanded.
"Alright, your wish is my command," Jagger get out off the water and change into dry clothes. "I'm done dressing," he said.

Jessy looked at him, he was telling the truth.
She made herself visible in his eyes.
Jagger smiled at her. "Finally, I see you. You're always beautiful in my eyes..." he whispered.
Jessy raised a brow. "Stop showering me with your flattery...I won't buy it," she ignored his blatant flirting.
Jagger's face fell sad. "What can I do to make you love me, Jess?" his face turned serious.
Jessy sighed. "There's nothing you can do, Jagger. I'm sorry, I'm not the right woman for you, I'm off-limits," she said.
She eyed him from head to toe, from his fall last time, if he was just a mere mortal he will surely suffer a grave injury but looks like he wasn't, so his power had finally returned just like Adam? Jagger must be really special because normally any vampire that transfused with her blood not only become human will also lose their power, with one exemption though...Adam and now...Jagger?
This is getting interesting!
Jagger stared at her pretty face. "I'm getting bored living in the treehouse alone, Jess," he finally said.
"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. Does the portable radio that I had given you is not enough to keep the boredom at bay?" she asked.
He was shaking his head vigorously. "Not enough...I keep missing you every minute and every second of the day, call me crazy but that is how I feel towards you. I think I'm fallen madly in love with you. I can't help it, it's you that I've been thinking all day and all night long," he finally confessed his true feelings for her.
Jessy was taken aback for a moment. Before, she thought he was just having fun teasing her. But now, while she was listening to his love confession and looking into his eyes, she can conclude that he was indeed telling the truth to her face.
She was silent for a moment, at loss of words on what to tell him, it's a one-sided love.

They stared at each other's eyes for a few minutes.
"You already know my answer, Jagger. I don't have the same feeling towards you, besides I already had a boyfriend that I love so much. I'm sorry I can't reciprocate your feelings for me," she gave him her honest answer.
Jagger flinched in pain. "I see...It's okay, I understand, no hard feelings, Jess," he said.
"By the way, how are you feeling? Your body isn't hurting because of the fall the other day?"
Jagger shook his head. "No. I'm fine, thanks for asking," he answered.
"I'm going back now to the Facility, are you sure you are okay here?" she asked.
"Yeah," Jagger nodded his head. "Jess, before you go home tonight, I would like to ask for your help..."
"What is it?" she asked wanting to hear what kind of help he wanted from her.
Jagger sighed heavily. "I no longer want to live alone here in the jungle. The isolation is killing me, I want to go back to my brother's side. Can you help me? The travel is very far, my power is still weak, it has not returned in full force yet. Can you please take me to my brother's hideout? Please?" he pleaded.
Jessy smiled. "Sure! I will take you there. When do you plan to go back to your brother's side?"
"How about next week?" he replied.
"Okay, no problem. On my next visit I will accompany you home to your brother," she said.
"If I'm already living there, you're not going to visit me anymore?" he asked.
Jessy shrugged her shoulders. "I dunno..."
"Will I ever see you again?" he asked with eyes full of sadness.
Jessy avoided his gaze and instead looked at the moon above. "I dunno...let see...it all depends..."
"Depends on what—?" he asked, his eyes boring into hers.
"It depends on how far the travel is and my schedule," she answered. "But it's probably best that we won't see each other anymore, it's for your own good," she continued.
Jagger's face looks dejected. "I see...I understand," he accepted her blatant rejection.
"I need to go home now as it's getting late already," she said. "You need something? Just tell me so that I can buy it in the city," she asked.
Jagger was contemplating what to ask from her now that he finally informed her that he's now ready to go home to his brother's side. "Can we do it again—? Roast some chicken and have some nice bonfire, please don't bring your boyfriend this time. Just the two of us. Please? It's my one last request from you before we part our ways," he begged.
"Sure! I will fulfill your last request, I will drop here one of these days and let's do it again as per your request," she smiled at him.
Jagger smiled back. He loves it when Jessy smiled at him he can feel his heart melting into a puddle.
"I'll go now. See you one of these days, take care of yourself," she said and teleported back into the Facility.
Jagger watched as she completely disappeared from his sight.
She's gone, but not for too long.
He was looking forward to the bonfire session to happen, while they are roasting chicken, staring at each other's eyes just the two of them together in the forest, that would be kind of romantic!
His eyes were glowing like diamonds in the sky in anticipation of their special date together. He will be dreaming of her tonight, and in his dream, she was his woman willing and eager to satisfy his wants and needs and love him unconditionally.
Perfect!

Tales from the Triverse
Tales from the Triverse is part detective drama, part fantasy adventure and part space opera. I’m influenced by the likes of Iain M Banks, Isaac Asimov and ND Stevenson and work including The Wire and Gotham Central. It begins with an incident two hundred years ago which crashed three parallel universes together. Portals open up in 18th century London, sending England down a very different path. We pick up events in the 1970s, with the Metropolitan Police having established a new department to handle portal-related criminal activity. The story is about intolerance, immigration, multiculturalism and power. It’s about what happens when incompatible viewpoints are weaponised to seed discontent, and the efforts of some to create a fairer world. In the tradition of the best science fiction, fantasy and crime fiction, I’m using the setting to examine themes that matter to me in the real world. Who is it for?If you like science fiction or fantasy, or a mix of both, this is for you. It’s my first foray into crime fiction, but I hope if you’re a fan that you’ll enjoy yourself - especially if you’re looking for something a bit different. I write fiction that is optimistic, progressive and empathetic. Bad things can happen to good people in the stories, but the overall arc tends to be hopeful. Note that if it were a movie, Tales from the Triverse would be a 15 certificate in the UK.
